I understand perfectly well why billionaires need business jets, but as an aviator, it pains me to look at such a huge amount of empty space in his jet. You don't need such a distance between the seats, nor such a high ceiling. An airplane doesn't have to try to be the size of a home movie theater. These non-essential things add a tremendous amount to the cost of the jet and the cost of its operation. Not to mention the fuel burn - because of transporting so much empty space, the pollution from this jet is MUCH greater than it could be. Comfort in a private jet should be no more than comfort in a good car. Anything more is absolute economic inefficiency, ignorance, and selfishness.

It wasn't easy what he had to do to meet him and get on that jet. He took a risk went out and stood in the street.. got rejected and laughed at. Then this dude took him in. You gotta respect the hustle. These are the kinds of leaders who make others better. I'm thankful for this video and that he donated some of his time. Love that he explains that we eat the same stuff, have the same problems, he just has more resources to try to fix his problems, but overall we’re all the same. Good to hear a rich guy who didnt come from wealth, and is grounded to wanting better of his country. There wasnt the arrogance or mentality if bragging about his wealth and power. Seemed more of a regular person, not like many billionaires who think they have a tight to control what we inject into our body, determine what we eat and censor our information like that worm who used to run Mic,ro,soft.
"Physical health is mental health" So true! I watch some strongmen, one of them retired, that say working out helped their depression. Or fitness influencers that ask people at gyms why they come to the gym. You will be surprised how many people said they did it to get fit, but found that it also helped their depression. Some even said their depression was cured by going to the gym, using their bodies. Physical health is SO important.

There was a scene in the movie Boiler Room where they're trying to sell a stock to someone and his supervisor was motioning to him to stay silent and let the guy he was pitching the stock to say the next thing. Silence can be a powerful tool when 2 people are talking. Sooner or later someone's gotta break that silence and it's usually the guy you want information (or money) from to be the one to speak next. Great interview and interview style.

Love how Noah doesn't talk when he's answering. There's quite a bit of awkward silence, but you can tell Noah anticipates this and it pushes James to dig deeper into his answers. Too many interviewers talk more than they should which keeps a lot of golden nuggets from interviewees hidden.
Yes! So many interviewers on tv talk over (think Bill Hemmer) their guests, suppose they think they’re viewpoint is more important. If you manage to book a quality guest, shut up and listen. Noah instinctively seems to know this.
The fact he was running late but still invited you to join shows a lot of character. He could have just went along with his day, but instead showed hospitality and knowledge. Classy act!

This is what podcasts need to be. Just a pure value filled conversation between 2 highly disciplined & motivated people. Noah knew exactly what to ask and when to speak, he used his time extremely well. James on the other hand would make such a good mentor, I'd pay anyting to be coached under this guy. Sadly social media has made it so only people that speak big and dress big will get an audience. Entreprenuers like James need to be on there preaching. you could tell before the interview even began. he was willing to help a random guy who said he was making a youtube video. and he didn't seem like he was doing it for the attention or trying to make himself look cool/stroke his own ego, it seemed like he was only helping out a stranger
Man this dude had so many opportunities to ask an abundance of good questions. He was so focused about the damn jet expenses.... I would have keep asking about those moments where he was transitioning in life and how he did it.
totally - going from lower-middle/blue-collar to ultra-wealthy isn't a walk in the park. Granted, he put in the work but I'm sure he'd tell you about the intensity of the internal work and the changes of perception being equally as challenging. Giving up one extreme identity for another isn't easy, friends. It's nice to hear from these people how they've transitioned.

@@Xenianos Comments like yours always baffle me. From where do you think come those billions? Billionaires often enough have a product or service which millions of people use OR are dependent on it. For example: Bill Gates is a billionaire because millions of Servers and Computers are using Windows (not to mention all the other software). Jeff Bezos made the biggest Marketplace in the world aswell as the biggest Cloud-Company as of today. I could give you more examples but you hopefully see my point. Society in alot of cases made billionaires actually billionaires. If u want to hate, dont hate them, hate the people that made them successful.

He didn't fall into that trap and he made some interesting hints regarding the current situation and what's wrong with it... A true libertarian I would say. Awesome. @@dreamraver Thank you for your reply. Climate change had always existed. This is a natural phenomenon. In this natural state those changes take place over very long period of thousands of years. And life follows. Or not. During glaciation period many species disappear. The problem now is that this is happening over the course of 200 hundred years. Which means that nature (flora and fauna) will not have time to adapt. The problem we have is not only fuel consumption. This is only a small part of it actually. To build this plane it has taken a lot of wood (to produce coal), a lot of coal (to produce metal), a lot of metal and lot of other stuff I don’t know ‘cause I’m not a plane designer. But one thing that I know is that those ressources are taken from forests and mines and in the process nature is destroyed. This is a reality. Just look for “mine rehabilitation” , “mine impact” just right here. And look for “deforestation” as well. There are visual proofs to that. As well as humans. Because hundreds of thousands of people over the world are losing their farms, their forests, their access to clean water, their livelihood just right now as a consequence of deferorestation alone. Then there is the garbage problem. Have you heard of the “garbage patch”. Just check it out, it’s dreadful. And there is the melting of the ice in the north. These problems are real. Otherwise it would mean that hundreds of thousands of journalists, social workers, photographs, mine workers, CEO, managers, google employees, youtubers, etc. are lying to us. So how does that work? All those people from many different countries are employed by some special secret place that ask them to lie to the rest of the population? To us. But aren’t those people “us” as well? If there is a liar, I would believe these are the powerful people who get money from lobbying in order to let some people carrying on getting the big money from this destruction. An average person in a rich country uses a lot of ressources. Like a LOT. Through indirect uses too. Like all the goods coming from China. That are made by burning coal. And that does not even includes vehicles. So a guy flying in a private jet. Forget about it. That’s what I meant by “more people in private jet” I’ll be happy to answer any other questions.
@@onceuponascale Thanks for the elaborate reply. I see your point. Resource consumption is indeed an issue on this planet. However, I wonder how we could ever overcome this. Either we shrink down to something like a billion people (or even less), and that's apparently the goal of the "elites" if we again believe the conspiracy theories (which shall not the topic here), or we revert our so called development and go back to a pre-industrialization lifestyle. Who wants that? Nobody, I guess. So I am pro further development in order to figure out how we can save resources, reuse and recycle them, replace them with natural materials etc.. There are efforts being done already which go in that direction. Well, I agree that even then it will naturally not be the solution to buy more private jets by people like him. But that's not what I meant. I was rather talking about the can-do mindset of that guy and how he apparently tries to use his money to make an impact. And if he sees the jet as a necessary tool to achieve his goals, then let him use it. I can't judge his case. But I can imagine that it makes sense for some of "such" people (but by far not for all) as the pros might totally outweigh the cons.

Noah I love your interview skills. How u don't interrupt, u pause when you think they've finished speaking and then they continue to elaborate on their answers. Really good techniques. U also know when that question has ran dry and u steer the conversation elsewhere.
I used to own a small limo service in south Florida and billionaires as well as millionaires used my company. I learned so much from the billionaires because they all had a similar mindset to this gentleman. They seemed humble, even when discussing great accomplishments, and like this man, were mostly involved in relationship building. I got to be a fly on the wall when they made calls in my car. Most went something like this - "I want John for this project, however, Lisa will be upset if she doesn't get the assignment, so make sure we put Lisa on this other assignment because I know she was also very interested in that one." Also, they seemed like they could care less about money. Millionaires liked to brag about "I have this, I drive that, I've been to all these exotic places." Billionaires seemed very down to earth. They'd say things like, "did you see the football game last night?" What a great interview!
this bit of nuance you picked up on is pretty interesting. I imagine the billionaires were once like the millionaires but grew out of it. Fascinating psychology...

The guy who owns the plane, is a perfect example of how most super wealthy people think. They are constantly re-evaluating everything, including their mental and physical well being, always searching for areas to improve on. I grew up in a upper middle class town where i was constantly around very wealthy people, being a poor kid, I always took any opportunity to ask questions. If we were driving together, the longer the ride, the more questions. I got to the point of seeing how these people tick. I will say, it has serve me well, as I writing this from 40k feet up in the air from my privately owned jet....

This was actually wonderful. Just a guy that has made it and some genuine wisdom. The guy owns a 34million dollar Jet and is complaining about about the lack of quality of a 60 dollar steak. This is far more inspirational than the vast majority of money channels that are designed to funnel you into their get rich quick course.

Some of the wealthiest people that I have met are the most interesting and down-to-earth people. Just like this guy, they got wealthy by solving problems. The worst "rich people" are usually the ones who are jealous narcistic types who think they deserve everything and they think that they are better than other people. Those people can get to be millionaires, but rarely beyond that. It's hard to build a large well-functioning organization if you're an unredeemable a-hole.
there are douchebag millionaires/billionaires, just like there are horrible poor people. People label every single rich person as a devil and a person who was overtaken with greed. In reality, all of these rich people are just hardworking very down to earth disciplined people. That's how it always was and it's how it will always be.
If your business relies on making contacts and deals, you are going to be much more successful if you are easy to get along with. Usually the ones that get away with being a holes are the ones born into money.

I understand perfectly well why billionaires need business jets, but as an aviator, it pains me to look at such a huge amount of empty space in his jet. You don't need such a distance between the seats, nor such a high ceiling. An airplane doesn't have to try to be the size of a home movie theater. These non-essential things add a tremendous amount to the cost of the jet and the cost of its operation. Not to mention the fuel burn - because of transporting so much empty space, the pollution from this jet is MUCH greater than it could be. Comfort in a private jet should be no more than comfort in a good car. Anything more is absolute economic inefficiency, ignorance, and selfishness.

Or fitness influencers that ask people at gyms why they come to the gym. You will be surprised how many people said they did it to get fit, but found that it also helped their depression. There was a scene in the movie Boiler Room where they're trying to sell a stock to someone and his supervisor was motioning to him to stay silent and let the guy he was pitching the stock to say the next thing. Silence can be a powerful tool when 2 people are talking. Sooner or later someone's gotta break that silence and it's usually the guy you want information (or money) from to be the one to speak next. Love how Noah doesn't talk when he's answering. There's quite a bit of awkward silence, but you can tell Noah anticipates this and it pushes James to dig deeper into his answers. Too many interviewers talk more than they should which keeps a lot of golden nuggets from interviewees hidden.
Yes! So many interviewers on tv talk over (think Bill Hemmer) their guests, suppose they think they’re viewpoint is more important. If you manage to book a quality guest, shut up and listen. Noah instinctively seems to know this.

totally - going from lower-middle/blue-collar to ultra-wealthy isn't a walk in the park. Granted, he put in the work but I'm sure he'd tell you about the intensity of the internal work and the changes of perception being equally as challenging. Giving up one extreme identity for another isn't easy, friends. It's nice to hear from these people how they've transitioned.

I'm glad I clicked on this video. There was a lot of insight and wisdom in it. Even taking the bold risk to ask for a flight on someone's private jet was a testament on risk and reward. Man. This guy is absolutely fantastic. He has a thriving mindset because he's humble and he's asking all the right questions of himself, mainly, What Am I Missing? That's the scientist in him. It's not what am I getting right, it's doing it until I can't get it wrong. When you ask yourself what Am I missing? What do I not understand? you automatically stop being judgmental and you start to thrive.

@@onceuponascale Human made climate change (it's changing, but probably not because of us) is a lie to keep people down. I believed it too until a few years ago when I woke up. He didn't fall into that trap and he made some interesting hints regarding the current situation and what's wrong with it... A true libertarian I would say. Awesome. Once more people become like him, we will solve the world's problems, including pollution through old fashioned means of energy generation.
@@dreamraver Thank you for your reply. Climate change had always existed. This is a natural phenomenon. In this natural state those changes take place over very long period of thousands of years. And life follows. Or not. During glaciation period many species disappear. The problem now is that this is happening over the course of 200 hundred years. Which means that nature (flora and fauna) will not have time to adapt.
The problem we have is not only fuel consumption. This is only a small part of it actually. To build this plane it has taken a lot of wood (to produce coal), a lot of coal (to produce metal), a lot of metal and lot of other stuff I don’t know ‘cause I’m not a plane designer. But one thing that I know is that those ressources are taken from forests and mines and in the process nature is destroyed. This is a reality. Just look for “mine rehabilitation” , “mine impact” just right here. And look for “deforestation” as well. There are visual proofs to that. As well as humans. Because hundreds of thousands of people over the world are losing their farms, their forests, their access to clean water, their livelihood just right now as a consequence of deferorestation alone.
Then there is the garbage problem. Have you heard of the “garbage patch”. Just check it out, it’s dreadful.
And there is the melting of the ice in the north.
These problems are real. Otherwise it would mean that hundreds of thousands of journalists, social workers, photographs, mine workers, CEO, managers, google employees, youtubers, etc. are lying to us.
So how does that work? All those people from many different countries are employed by some special secret place that ask them to lie to the rest of the population? To us. But aren’t those people “us” as well?
If there is a liar, I would believe these are the powerful people who get money from lobbying in order to let some people carrying on getting the big money from this destruction.
An average person in a rich country uses a lot of ressources. Like a LOT. Through indirect uses too. Like all the goods coming from China. That are made by burning coal. And that does not even includes vehicles.
So a guy flying in a private jet. Forget about it.

@@onceuponascale Thanks for the elaborate reply. I see your point. Resource consumption is indeed an issue on this planet. However, I wonder how we could ever overcome this. Either we shrink down to something like a billion people (or even less), and that's apparently the goal of the "elites" if we again believe the conspiracy theories (which shall not the topic here), or we revert our so called development and go back to a pre-industrialization lifestyle. Who wants that? Nobody, I guess. So I am pro further development in order to figure out how we can save resources, reuse and recycle them, replace them with natural materials etc.. There are efforts being done already which go in that direction. Well, I agree that even then it will naturally not be the solution to buy more private jets by people like him. But that's not what I meant. I was rather talking about the can-do mindset of that guy and how he apparently tries to use his money to make an impact. And if he sees the jet as a necessary tool to achieve his goals, then let him use it. I can't judge his case. But I can imagine that it makes sense for some of "such" people (but by far not for all) as the pros might totally outweigh the cons.

Stumbled across this video. What an interview! He comes across as a genuine humble guy that wants everyone to do well. Fantastic!
I used to own a small limo service in south Florida and billionaires as well as millionaires used my company. I learned so much from the billionaires because they all had a similar mindset to this gentleman. They seemed humble, even when discussing great accomplishments, and like this man, were mostly involved in relationship building. I got to be a fly on the wall when they made calls in my car. Most went something like this - "I want John for this project, however, Lisa will be upset if she doesn't get the assignment, so make sure we put Lisa on this other assignment because I know she was also very interested in that one." Also, they seemed like they could care less about money. Millionaires liked to brag about "I have this, I drive that, I've been to all these exotic places." Billionaires seemed very down to earth. They'd say things like, "did you see the football game last night?" What a great interview!
this bit of nuance you picked up on is pretty interesting. I imagine the billionaires were once like the millionaires but grew out of it. Fascinating psychology...

I love how patient and quiet the interviewer is as he waits for James to respond . It allows the person being interviewed to fully open up , let down guard and share .
He needed to do that. The guy would often pause, seemingly finished with his answer, and then interrupt Noah as soon as Noah started talking again 😅😂
The guy who owns the plane,
is a perfect example of how most super wealthy people think.
They are constantly re-evaluating everything, including their mental and physical well being, always searching for areas to improve on.
I grew up in a upper middle class town where i was constantly around very wealthy people, being a poor kid, I always took any opportunity to ask questions. If we were driving together, the longer the ride, the more questions. I got to the point of seeing how these people tick. I will say, it has serve me well, as I writing this from 40k feet up in the air from my privately owned jet....

What a great down to earth ex navy man that's made good decisions in his life. It is so generous of him to take people along on his trip. He's definitely a good human being. Money changes most people, but it doesn't seem to have changed this man. Great video!
This was actually wonderful. Just a guy that has made it and some genuine wisdom. The guy owns a 34million dollar Jet and is complaining about about the lack of quality of a 60 dollar steak. This is far more inspirational than the vast majority of money channels that are designed to funnel you into their get rich quick course.
Some old habits die hard and new habits develop, like doing overpriced expensive hobbies.
I can't believe I'm the same age as this guy (and a Navy veteran too). This guy is living the life I've only dreamed of. Very happy for him! A good example for younger folks too!

This changes my view on billionaires and millionaires completely. This guy is so damn down to earth
Some of the wealthiest people that I have met are the most interesting and down-to-earth people. Just like this guy, they got wealthy by solving problems. The worst "rich people" are usually the ones who are jealous narcistic types who think they deserve everything and they think that they are better than other people. Those people can get to be millionaires, but rarely beyond that. It's hard to build a large well-functioning organization if you're an unredeemable a-hole.
there are douchebag millionaires/billionaires, just like there are horrible poor people. People label every single rich person as a devil and a person who was overtaken with greed. In reality, all of these rich people are just hardworking very down to earth disciplined people. That's how it always was and it's how it will always be.
If your business relies on making contacts and deals, you are going to be much more successful if you are easy to get along with. Usually the ones that get away with being a holes are the ones born into money.
You'd be down to earth too if you didn't have to actually work and money flowed into your bank account through little effort on your part
