Debbie still loves Nolan, but she just doesn't trust him at the moment, hoping he has some reasonable explanation. When you've been in-loved and married for 20 years, those feelings won't disappear in an instant. So, when she thought Cecil killed Nolan in the explosion, it makes sense she called him a monster. Also, in the Immortal's flashback, he was initially a Celtic warrior gifted by a mysterious portal, giving him eternal life and youth, and becoming various historical figures such as Sir Lancelot of King Arthur's court, Christopher Columbus (in the comic), and Abraham Lincoln before making his debut as a superhero.
Honestly you have to keep in mind when you're watching anything that a lot of characters don't know the things that you know. 5:13 Martians are immune to being taken over as hosts by sequids, but the sequids now have a human host, which allows them to communicate and strategize and destroy the Martians. Superheroes being common in the world doesn't erase the potential danger of being close to one. And yeah, there's a heightened general danger for everyone living in that world, but that's still nowhere near the same as being targeted by a supervillain who has a vendetta against your SO. Amber is being incredibly short-sighted and self-focused, in my opinion. I don't think it was reasonable of her to expect Mark to tell her sooner. But at the same time, she has the right to decide what she will or won't tolerate in a relationship. And even if for good reason, Mark still repeatedly lied to her. That damages trust, and without trust there's no foundation for a relationship. IMO this relationship was doomed from the start, and was always going to be.
This’s probably one of my top favourite episodes of the entire season. Not just because of the absolutely insanely brilliant action sequences one after the other in so many different ways, but also because we get to have another glimpse at Eve’s every day life now. When the series 1st started, you really don’t realise just how incredible her power really is. Not just able to create energy but simply the fact that she can rearrange atoms to the near god level on everything she sees, And she still hasn’t let it go to her head. Plus the soundtrack that plays when she wakes up it’s probably one of my top favourite newer songs now since I first saw the series. Being able to help the world like that and yet just living out in the near wilderness and not having to stress about the everyday things that we currently do or might worry about in the future, is just absolutely wonderful. If I could live her life I totally would. I feel like that is a life that is worth living and she’s doing it well now.👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️
The mummy thing was a joke, a throwaway event just for the lols and turning conventional story telling on its head. They started it out like it was some major thing that was going to be a story arc, only for Mark to accidentally shut the tomb closed on the mummy when he flew too low over the desert.
Rex had Cybernetic implants installed in his forearms and muscle and bone augmentation as a child as part of a government black ops project. Which is why he never went to high school. So robot can't get his powers by cloning him his powers are cybernetic.
I think the show did Amber dirty there, as it’s obvious how unhappy she is with his lack of participation in the relationship, and that could easily be the best reason for them breaking up, but the writers opt for a dramatic breakup that feels abnormal and unfairly makes her the bad guy. I don’t think there’s a need for anybody to be the bad guy. Their dissolving relationship deserved more nuance imo, and it’s probably the biggest flaw of the show so far.
In the first episode the two White House guards are joking about superhero training and how will they ever be able to do a combat roll away from a super villain. In this episode Donald does a combat roll to get away from omni man in order to press the button.
Ignoring the change in Amber's character, this is the first time that both Eve and Mark comfort each other over relationship stuff. When comic Amber was confused about Mark's identity and avoided him because of it, Mark didn't really meet up with Eve if I remember correctly. Season 1 is cooking something up people...
I think this is one of the things the comic handled better. When Mark explained to her, she was surprised and a bit more forgiving, and they both admitted they could handle things better. The show version just made her seem petty and kind of an AH.

War Woman and Immortal fucked him up bad, they died fighting him but they also beat him into a coma. And in the comics, it was shown that if they knew he was gonna attack and prepped accordingly, they could have taken Nolan.
Well that’s because of the Green Ghost. War Woman and Immortal actually never hurt or damaged Nolan. Green Ghost knocked him out by phasing through him.
@@Ren_Davis0531 I was talking about episode one of the show, Green Ghost gets taken out immediately. And War Woman and Immortal bloody Nolan up, and beat him into a coma, despite dying. Also no, read the issue again, Green Ghost disorients him and War Woman ko's him.
@@stormrevenant I’m talking about the comics. War Woman and Immortal don’t damage him until Green Ghost shows up. The Immortal gets defeated easily again and War Woman’s attacks aren’t powerful enough to stop Nolan whatsoever. Little more than a nuisance. Okay slight difference, but the fundamental element of War Woman being ineffective until after Green Ghost phases through him still stands. Without the Ghost they all would have died again. Green Ghost can bypass Nolan’s durability, so it makes sense for those attacks to work.

It literally doesn’t make any sense, there’s no rationalising it. The show does a good job with its character work, but that part isn’t justifiable Outside of that moment, Amber’s pretty cool
@@Virgil_Hawkins I think that's fair, the writers just expected people to "get it", I see what they were going for there so none of the Amber stuff really bother me. A lot of people missed the mark with her but I guess that can be put on the writers.

There's alot of things that the comics did, imo, better. The topic of Monster Girl and Rudy "getting together immediately" is like 👀in the comics monster girl even says "yeah...im not attracted to kids", which was funny ☠️ The Amber and Mark thing as well is MASSIVELY annoying. In the comics they were together for over a year (into COLLEGE 🤌🏾) and she was still more understanding, yeah she was kinda dumb but still it made MORE sense for her to be alittle ignorant than just a complete asshole about it. Like 5 months is NOTHING, especially as a High school Senior. 🙉

51:36 Oh, it's all adding up the exact way Amber has been portrayed all along. She likes Ta Nehisi Coates, fourth wave feminism, and is a control freak. Amber constantly gaslights Mark, is manipulative, and plays with Mark's emotions. Amber is a terrible person, and wants all of her interactions with people to force them to do as SHE wants, WHEN she wants. Even with Eve, Amber guilt tripped Eve into going and helping at the soup kitchen. She's awful, and was changed for the show to appease SJW requirements. As was William. William didn't even know he was gay for forever in the comics, he just kept trying to date girls, but it never worked out until he discovered he was gay, and then hooked up with Rick. Comics Amber was a bit vapid, and silly, but genuinely cared for Mark, and had a way, way, different reaction when she found out about Mark. Show Amber runs off with a random guy after her argument. Comics Amber was getting worked over by a seemingly nice guy, but still refused his advances and eventually did break up with Mark. It wasn't a bad breakup, Amber just couldn't handle living in fear for Mark's safety day in and day out. Mark felt awful for staying with her when she was stressed out all day every day, and they broke up and stayed really good friends. She even called Mark for a shoulder to cry on later when a new boyfriend gave her a black eye, and Mark grabbed him, flew him way up in the air, and threatened to splatter him all over the ground if he touched Amber ever again like that. I don't think show Amber will engender those same protective feelings in Mark.
@@verynice5574 I imagine Kirkman laughing his ass off internally in the pitch meeting. Panel of financers: "That's the girlfriend? Make her black. And an SJW. And make her in control of everything. @@Maxisamo1 I just wished her motive for behaving that way was clearer, I think “them being teenagers” is a bit of a cheap excuse from the writers
Amber lies one fucking time and shes a manipulative toxic bitch. Mark lies throughout multiple episodes, basically their entire relationship and she should be more understanding. I really dont get the double standard.
Yeah, its one of those moments when the "scripters" tries to force a character to look "amazing and smart as no one else!" and it ends making 0 sense on the plot, forcing characters to pretend something like that... usually ends pretty bad.
Plus: The Amber of the comics is veeeery different with Mark.

Amber always reminded me of an ex so it's super validating she got dunked on in this episode lol

Except she's right. Mark doesn't have to reveal he's a superhero, but he shouldn't make promises and break them. He needs to take some responsibility and not promise things which he can't do.
Amber knew Mark was Invincible and yet she still was mad at him for being a coward and “running away?” WTF? 🤨 This girl is a straight up sociopath and Mark needs to get out of that toxic relationship ASAP.
She’s mad at him for lying. She said like 3 episodes ago that it’s fine if he has “other obligations” but to not lie about it. Basically he had his choice of keep dating her and tell her the truth. Or not tell her but stop dating her. He chose to have his cake and eat it too by keep dating her but also keep lying. So she’s mad. She literally gave him that choice a while ago
@@darencolby1916 He is a superhero the point of being a superhero is to lie to keep your family safe because in the worst case scenario if someone figured out Amber was Invincible's girlfriend along with the son of Omni-Man he could get his friends killed or even used against him. I think the writers of the show made a mess with her knowing he is a superhero… but still dating him?
So the mom would have journeyed perceptions of what they're doing as unethical . Not knowing how unethical her own husband has been. She had sufficient but not full on seeing it. seeing your husband attack who you spend So many years u Will immediately make you think the other people are bad. Especially if they have to use unethical means to even attempt to stop it.
The thing is though she watched her husband rip a bunch of people in half that were pretty much no threat to him.
Everyone remembers where they were the day Bobby Hill died...
Speaking of, Bobby was once seen reading Invincible in King of the Hill. A fun nod haha
Rex filled the milk cartons with beer so Robot wouldn’t be able to break the beer bottles. Remember Robot destroyed all the beer with a sonic frequency the first time that it was shown. This way he can’t crack the cartons with the sonic attack.

5:13 Martians are immune to being taken over as hosts by sequids, but the sequids now have a human host, which allows them to communicate and strategize and destroy the Martians.
Think of it like you are immune to rabbies and you get attacked by an animal that has rabbies. You won't get rabbies, but it can still bite your arm off.
I feel like that is a life that is worth living and she’s doing it well now.👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️
Eve > Amber
I feel like they did that to make it easier for future events 👀

@@cmknation766 “Muscle mommy.”
- Sam
The mummy thing was a joke, a throwaway event just for the lols and turning conventional story telling on its head. They started it out like it was some major thing that was going to be a story arc, only for Mark to accidentally shut the tomb closed on the mummy when he flew too low over the desert.
When Robot switches to Rudy they actually change voice actors from Zachery Quinto to Ross Marquand
editor you rock. Never seen edits where ALL the good stuff are kept in!
Agreed.
In the first episode the two White House guards are joking about superhero training and how will they ever be able to do a combat roll away from a super villain. In this episode Donald does a combat roll to get away from omni man in order to press the button.
**Nolan sticks his hand into Donald’s back and starts ripping out his spin**
Parker: “That’s really painful.” 🤣
Milk cartons used to have missing kids pictures on them, Rex drew Monster Girl's face on them. It was a setup to a joke.
Also kids being told to drink your milk so you grow up big and strong is something she needs since she is regressing in age.
29:07 bro he made me fanboy so hard bringing that up Lol what a legend
Ignoring the change in Amber's character, this is the first time that both Eve and Mark comfort each other over relationship stuff. When comic Amber was confused about Mark's identity and avoided him because of it, Mark didn't really meet up with Eve if I remember correctly.
Season 1 is cooking something up people...
I think this is one of the things the comic handled better. When Mark explained to her, she was surprised and a bit more forgiving, and they both admitted they could handle things better. The show version just made her seem petty and kind of an AH.
Yes Nicole, Robot's story reminded me of Mechamaru (JJK) as well. At least he has found some method to free himself from his disabilities.
I actually predicted mechamarus arc in jjk cause I'd seen this before. Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the similarities.

@@stormrevenant
I’m talking about the comics.
Mark bumbling his way through a mutually toxic first relationship is amongst the most human things about him
Naw he shouldn't be taking flak for not telling her about his secret identity was he a shit boyfriend yeah but he was still trying but the moment she knew she should have just confronted him and said hey I know your secret and I don't think it's going to work out and just left not pull that BS on him and then come running back

Also no comment on your theories, but I love the way you guys look at things from all these various perspectives, your discussions are so good to watch
I think a good portion of the fandom was as well.
I dunno about justified. I think the slander should go to the writers, it was inconsistent character writing, and they basically try to pretend that never happened afterwards. It literally doesn’t make any sense, there’s no rationalising it. The show does a good job with its character work, but that part isn’t justifiable
Outside of that moment, Amber’s pretty cool
@@Virgil_Hawkins I think that's fair, the writers just expected people to "get it", I see what they were going for there so none of the Amber stuff really bother me. A lot of people missed the mark with her but I guess that can be put on the writers.

Weekly reminder to watch THE BOYS please
Immortal and Invincible are two different things. Being immortal just means you live forever in conventional ways. You can still be killed. But immortal wouldn’t die from age or getting sick. But going up against a stronger super he can be killed.
Immortality also means you cannot be killed.
The one you describe is known as biological immortal.
@@ineedpowers5151well technically he’s never dead and his parts never decay so technically he is immortal. He’s just in a state where he’s neither dead or alive. He’s in a catatonic state. Eve can reconstruct anything on a molecular level according to her, this means she could turn iron into gold, destroy cancer cells, reverse aging and who knows what other things she could do with the full extent of her powers
I don't think she can do those last two things normally. In the comics I think it was said she can't manipulate organic material.

Oh, it's all adding up the exact way Amber has been portrayed all along.
