I think I’ve watched 3 or 4 different reactions to this show and I don’t think any of them got the Mummy/ancient evil god joke. It is not a plot line, it is not coming back. Basically Mark and Nolan inadvertently and unknowingly solve that issue by simply flying over the desert and causing a sandstorm as they are training together. It’s supposed to be one of those funny scenes with a long setup that make us believe something relevant or important is coming out of it but then it all crumbles or resolves with some silliness or levity. But I get why people don’t pick that up, the ending of that entire bit is not the most well crafted moment and makes the correlation a bit unclear. Same with the dialogue between Amber and Sam that does make people think Amber does know Sam is Atom Eve… she doesn’t. Just like no one knows that Nolan is Omni-Man, the general public I mean, and that includes William. What Eve says is basically that people don’t expect to see a superhero or the extraordinary in their ordinary lives or their supposedly ordinary neighbors.
