    Dun dun dun! It works! Well at least the "manual test" like you said in the video now we wait to see if it actually works in the car which I'm sure it will!

    Great tutorials helped me with a rebuild of the HR box, and I just needed to do the reverse swap of the bellhousing of my 1EA0B (HR, you call a JK40) to a CD00x, so just pulled apart and swapped the input shaft with gear. Really good, thanks from Brisbane, Australia. Car is on youtube bondy505....

    My son and I used your videos as a guide to do his transmission. We did end up using the press to press reverse on. But the problem we ran into after that is that both fifth gear and reverse seated into the synchros and locked up. At first we thought we had a major problem because we didn’t know what had happened and we pulled it all apart again And realized what was going on. So we pressed it back on and then just used a putty knife to pop the synchros back out so that they freed up to where they should have been. Hopefully this will not create any issues in the actual function of the transmission once it’s in the car. Everything seems to bench test just fine.

    • @Garage23
      @Garage23  Год назад

      It's probably fine, there is a possibility the synchro could have stretched but if there was still an adequate gap from the gear once you popped it out then it should be fine.

    Dude, thank you for posting these videos! You did an amazing job BTW with editing and the mic came in clutch!🔥 I know how tedious it is to edit videos like this down to be watchable and entertaining. I rebuilt a manual Chevy S10 trans a few years back but since I got my HR 350Z I’ve been wanting to replace the synchros. Figured I could probably figure it out but it’s a HUGE plus seeing someone else do it first so you know what to look out for. Thanks again man! Loved the TJ Hunt “Keep Moving Foward” at the end👌🏼

      Thanks man, there has def been a lack of information since things have been moving away from forums now a days. Figured this was the best place to contribute 😁 and still trying to figure out my own outro 😅 TJ's def resonates with me though. Good luck with your build! I would say try and secure all the synchros before starting cuz they can be hard to get a hold of.

    We had tried heating our reverse gear as you did. But the tolerances in our transmission just seemed to be tighter. We could not get the reverse gear on by just heating it. Also, the shafts did not come out of the center plate easily we had to really force them out with a block of wood and a hammer. The manual says to just use a plastic hammer, but that just resulted in the transmission laughing at us! Putting the shaft back in we heated the center part of the case and then they slid right in. But there was absolutely no way the shafts were just going to pull right out or slide right back in.

      Each transmission definitely has its own unique challenges but glad you found what worked for your project 🙌🏻

    Wow killer series! I’m really trying to research my way out of my CD009 tear down but it’s not looking good. So far all of a sudden I can’t push my shifter down to get into reverse and I can’t even get the reverse lights to toggle! The worst part is not knowing what parts I might need in advanced and there are many many many dead end forums posts of this same phenomenon floating around. Maybe a roll pin fell out of a fork and it’s just hanging ten on a bar 🤷🏼

    • @Garage23
      @Garage23  10 месяцев назад +1

      a roll pin coming out is pretty unlikely. It sounds more like it could be a problem with the shifter itself. Might just need some adjustment

    HELLO
    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THE VIDEO IT IS VERY WELL EXPLAINED
    I HAVE A Cd009 BOX that has a noise and when I step on the clutch the noise disappears
    I thought it was the clutch or the thrust bearing, I changed everything but the noise continues
    you can help me ?
    thank you

    • @Garage23
      @Garage23  2 года назад

      Thanks for your sub! That sounds like a normal noise for a working gear box, hard to tell without seeing the car in person. Does it run funny when it makes that noise?

    Did u eventually put the input shaft seal in the cover ? If so we’re u able to put it on through the front ? Or did u have to take it off and put it in thru the rear no pun intended 😅

    • @Garage23
      @Garage23  7 месяцев назад +1

      The cover had an input shaft seal, if you're replacing it though it does have to go through the back side😅

    Which harbor freight press did you get the 12 ton or the 20ton?

    • @Garage23

      20 ton. The 12 would probably work as well but it's nice having the extra power if needed.
