Yes it is, i couldnt imagine living withouth it! Numerous times we have stared at tree branches or stars through it. Also the amount of light it brings inside the van and i dont even start talking about benefits when its hot! Must have in any van.

Skyroof is a must! It gives alot light to the van, you can see the stars through it. Numerous times me and sara have just layed on our bed and watched stars! Yes,but I think that the water from the shower will be kept on the van through the door! They must make the bathroom one step lower,so the water will get out.....
This van is a class B and the Class B comes with a bathroom. They are crazy expensive, new for around $100,000 and used $50,000 plus. People are better off buying a cargo van and building it up yourself. Save yourself $20-$30 thousand plus easily.

It's too bad that we can't get these kind here in the USA. You guys over seas are definitely ahead of us here when it comes to these travel vans. This van is the best van build I've seen. Though I want a bigger van or a caravan. Here in Italy, many frown upon vans/ caravan living. But, I'm going to look at caravans & vans this weekend. I don't care what others think. Perhaps I was a gypsy in a past life!

Wish we could just get this Van outfitted and shipped to the USA. Really like some of the features on the euro spec vans better than what we have gotten. We have almost the same base van in the USA now (Fiat sells it under the RAM brand here) so see no reason we shouldn't be able to get this!

Thank you for kind words. We are travelling at the moment in Southern Europe trough ancient little towns and old tiny country roads so its has been a pure blessing to have a little smaller and a lot thinner camper van than a full size camper.

Laura, many thanks for your kind words. Our last home was super modern and we wanted the same feeling for our van. :) It took us a long time to find this gem! We thought that this would be a great opportunity to make an adventure, we were selling our apartment and we sold it super-fast. So we were left choices to move to a van or rent an apartment, we did the first one. :) We are totally loving this lifestyle, we have got rid of everything extra and living small has open our eyes. We are hoping that we could some day get a chance to get flights to US, rent a van and explore your great country. Theres so much things that I would die to see. I have a Roadtrek Zion..built on the RAM Chassis. GREAT! I'm glad more and more manufacturers are going with the same chassis. I've seen many new RV's from Europe. I would wish we could get more of these models over here, in the USA.

Look at the Winnebego Travato. They are built on the same chassis and have a bit bigger bathrooms (without the yucky cassette toilet). The layouts of the travato are pretty innovative too.

That's cheap. I've seen Class B RVs like this go for $70-90,000 US! Unfortunately, it would never sell well because too many of us Americans are severely overweight and 99% of us absolutely hate, HATE, H A T E manual transmissions (because we're so lazy!!). Every RV forum I've seen goes like this: "Hey, check out this class B from Europe! It's got a drop-down bed and can fit in a standard parking spot! The stick shift is pretty slick too!" Replies go a lot like this over and over: "That's too small, where would my wife sit?" Seriously, I saw that answer. And then, "But but but but it doesn't have a 7 liter V-8!" I've driven a 4-door Jeep for 9 years with a 6 cylinder and it never lacked passing power. Then of course: "Screw that, we all use automatics, you Yurpees live in the 19th century!" Yes, the lazy poster said 19th century! LOL. Wonder if he even realizes vans and cars didn't exist in the 19th century... Every RV show I've been to, the class B RVs are ignored and everyone flocks to the longest, widest, tallest class A or fifth wheeler in the showroom. And I've seen some travel TRAILERS that are 10 feet longer than this RV! Me? I'd LOVE to drive and own an RV like this and yes, I can fit inside with 1 or 2 passengers without any problems. And yes, I drive a manual and it's not "overwhelming work" like naysayers claim. If someone offered this RV for $20,000, I'd buy it for sure! If I could have any RV, I'd love to drive a Roadtrek Sprinter (made in Canada) because them Canadians have an amazing dual-purpose foldout wall that converts the bathroom into a separate room. You can look on their website. They're mad geniuses. Another that I really like is the British designed Sprinter James Cook. The way they use space efficiently is just incredible.
The Europeans have had that chassis a lot longer than in North America. We will see the prices of used RVs come down on the promaster chassis in a few years. You can already get a used Winnebego Travato for under $60kusd if you bide your time and wait for the best deal. Lots of them for under $65kusd. The travatos (both of them) have better layouts too. I think a couple would be happy in either of them for an extended vacation, and the bathrooms are _a lot_ bigger. They are starting to make diesels too, although those are more expensive. You can't get a manual in NA yet, I don't think you can anyway. I dunno if I would want a manual anyways. It is a RV, not a sports car (and I have never actually owned an automatic before).
Fantastic if you decide to sell this van let me know. I am in the market for one like yours. I have driven it before (a similar layout Fiat) and like it. I am in the USA but would come to Europe to buy it.

+mic of orion we did buy the van, in Finland ready vans are totally tax free when the empty shells you need to pay whole car tax. (Finnish car taxation is the highest in the world) We did lots of research of building ourselfs, but ended up buying ready.

To each its own. It's great they believe it's best van in the universe (for them) - that's why they bought it. In my opinion, this is an awesome van. But I've seen plenty of inventively converted vans that are just as awesome.
Those windows costs around 200 euros and they are pretty easy to install. You can have nice breeze with those windows combined with side door. ALSO you can leave them open even if you leave the van so they are priceless!

I belive that i have seen 15-20 different camping vans at youtube and alot of them has been good, but yours are awesome. The bast camping van i have seen so far. Toilet, shower and alot of space of storage and smart system for the trash are the best i have been seen. So you guys will get a thumps up. That's not often im given that. Im thinking about too buy a van and convert it into camping or building a nice little house boat. It's very difficult too decide. But if im deciding about too buy a van i will convert in similiar design like yours most likely when i have been saving up the money. :) I think im about 30% about the whole budget for the project. So it's getting there.
amazing usage of space! if you guys looking to squeeze in a teensy more, looked like the walls by the bed could use some wall pockets. you know the thingy you hang in the closet that holds all the shoes? with all the pockets? would add a little cluster but as long as you guys don't put bulky stuff in pockets it shouldn't be too noticeable.
Vans and appliances from Europe seem so much more streamlined, efficient and ergonomically-designed than the much clunkier versions available in the U.S. I'm envious. :) Nice van! Also - those dogs!!! SO PRECIOUS AND CUTE!!! :)
Really Great Job on the Van! I am envious :) . I love the screens/blinds for the windows. Not so common in the US I guess. Glad to see a bathroom. So many builds by millenials with no bathroom. I couldn't imagine living in something without a bathroom. I had a small 15' fiberglass camper (guess 12' inside length isn't so small in the world of vans lol) and it had a cubicle shower with a porta potty. I think I like the cassette toilet because you can pull it from the outside. I hope you guys are having fun!

The foldout blinds on each window is the best feature. Very well designed van.
Those blinds are awesome! If we are under the streetlight you cannot tell looking from outside if we have all our lights on inside of our van. :)
Minus side on those blinds is that it block almost 100% of wifi signals.

The most similar to this van in North America is the new Hymer Aktiv. (Hymer bought out Roadtrek). There's also Roadtrek Zion or Winnebago Travato.

Every RV forum I've seen goes like this: "Hey, check out this class B from Europe! It's got a drop-down bed and can fit in a standard parking spot! The stick shift is pretty slick too!" Replies go a lot like this over and over: "That's too small, where would my wife sit?" Seriously, I saw that answer.
And then, "But but but but it doesn't have a 7 liter V-8!" I've driven a 4-door Jeep for 9 years with a 6 cylinder and it never lacked passing power. Then of course: "Screw that, we all use automatics, you Yurpees live in the 19th century!" Yes, the lazy poster said 19th century! LOL. Wonder if he even realizes vans and cars didn't exist in the 19th century... Every RV show I've been to, the class B RVs are ignored and everyone flocks to the longest, widest, tallest class A or fifth wheeler in the showroom. And I've seen some travel TRAILERS that are 10 feet longer than this RV!
Me? I'd LOVE to drive and own an RV like this and yes, I can fit inside with 1 or 2 passengers without any problems. And yes, I drive a manual and it's not "overwhelming work" like naysayers claim. If someone offered this RV for $20,000, I'd buy it for sure! If I could have any RV, I'd love to drive a Roadtrek Sprinter (made in Canada) because them Canadians have an amazing dual-purpose foldout wall that converts the bathroom into a separate room. You can look on their website. They're mad geniuses. Another that I really like is the British designed Sprinter James Cook. The way they use space efficiently is just incredible.
The Europeans have had that chassis a lot longer than in North America. We will see the prices of used RVs come down on the promaster chassis in a few years. You can already get a used Winnebego Travato for under $60kusd if you bide your time and wait for the best deal. Lots of them for under $65kusd. The travatos (both of them) have better layouts too. I think a couple would be happy in either of them for an extended vacation, and the bathrooms are _a lot_ bigger. They are starting to make diesels too, although those are more expensive. You can't get a manual in NA yet, I don't think you can anyway. I dunno if I would want a manual anyways. It is a RV, not a sports car (and I have never actually owned an automatic before).
Prices in Europe for this type of camper van are almost 30% cheaper than the USA prices.
Fantastic if you decide to sell this van let me know. I am in the market for one like yours. I have driven it before (a similar layout Fiat) and like it. I am in the USA but would come to Europe to buy it.

What is the gas mileage?
23 miles/gallon (US), Van weights with all our stuff in it aprox 3300-3400 Kg.
Wow, that's pretty damn good for a vehicle that size with that much extra weight, some passenger cars and trucks dont even get that mpg.

Van speed is limited in Finland to 100 kmh (62 mph), so yeah we are driving like granny. :D
lol, ahh didnt know you were limited, so I assume the van must be governed too. Oh well, better safe then sorry, and with a decent mpg like that, it seems like an acceptable trade off
since gas isnt going to stay cheap like it is now forever.

+mic of orion we did buy the van, in Finland ready vans are totally tax free when the empty shells you need to pay whole car tax. (Finnish car taxation is the highest in the world) We did lots of research of building ourselfs, but ended up buying ready.
Hope you dont mind asking but how much it costed? Are you based in Finland? I think prices might be slightly lower in Germany but just to give me rough estimation of the amount of money needed

Those windows costs around 200 euros and they are pretty easy to install. You can have nice breeze with those windows combined with side door. ALSO you can leave them open even if you leave the van so they are priceless!
The blinds in the front cab section are great; never seen those before.

I belive that i have seen 15-20 different camping vans at youtube and alot of them has been good, but yours are awesome. The bast camping van i have seen so far. Toilet, shower and alot of space of storage and smart system for the trash are the best i have been seen. So you guys will get a thumps up. That's not often im given that. Im thinking about too buy a van and convert it into camping or building a nice little house boat. It's very difficult too decide. But if im deciding about too buy a van i will convert in similiar design like yours most likely when i have been saving up the money. :) I think im about 30% about the whole budget for the project. So it's getting there.

amazing usage of space! if you guys looking to squeeze in a teensy more, looked like the walls by the bed could use some wall pockets. you know the thingy you hang in the closet that holds all the shoes? with all the pockets? would add a little cluster but as long as you guys don't put bulky stuff in pockets it shouldn't be too noticeable.

Really Great Job on the Van! I am envious :) . I love the screens/blinds for the windows. Not so common in the US I guess. Glad to see a bathroom. So many builds by millenials with no bathroom. I couldn't imagine living in something without a bathroom. I had a small 15' fiberglass camper (guess 12' inside length isn't so small in the world of vans lol) and it had a cubicle shower with a porta potty. I think I like the cassette toilet because you can pull it from the outside. I hope you guys are having fun!
