I have the same problem on a 2L HDI Peugeot 307SW, but this is the earlier 8 valve. Clearly the design of the heater plug is rubbish. I will try taking an injector out and have a look to see what the access is like. Had no problem on my C5 when I did those, but from memory the plugs were different. Thanks for posting.
Got all 4 broken and managed to get them out (Berlingo, took all the precautions )! The fun doesn’t stop).A tiny magnet stayed behind in cylinder nr.1 probably aganist a valve, nightmare.
Same car, same engine, same head ache. On cylinder #1 the glow plug was loose, so no big issues! Just a bit of carbon holding it in place. Cylinder #2 well that's another story. Broken right at the base. Damn it! All come to an halt! :-(
just an idea if the tip of the glow plug is empty, why not use a (TAP BORER) and a long screw or make one and pull the remaining of the glow plug. sorry for the bad english
Without trying to create a problem but you where really unlucky . To brake the tip of a glow plug , or they were really REALLY burned and such bad quality . I removed mine from Beru. And i had to clean the engine on that side, there was to much oil from a old leak. I tried with pliers to brake one tip so i could use the tip less plug as a cover for the hole. I could not brake it or even bend it i had to use a saw. Usually glow plugs brake on the beginning of the thread. Like I said i was surprised how hard those are, like everyone i was not very comfortable doing the job but all went well. not they have cooper grease, nest time might not be so stressful
My glow plug has snapped off 😖i feel like death...☠☠☠. It was the cylinder nearest to the cambelt. By the way it is the same engine as you 1.6hdi. You dont live near huddersfield do ya ?

I used the Bosch ones I believe.
How much do you charge mine vauxhall zafira MK2 z17dtr
It was just a DIY job on my own car, I believe they're £150 to be done professionally, each.
