- Amazing just amazing by Michael proving why he is the rest. Rain is very hard to drive in but only the true greats will be successful. Showed some cleverness in his use of the track too.
i remember watching this race .. i was a hater of schumacher .. after this i became a fan .. 4 seconds a lap faster .. amazing .. i remember thinking "this guy is gunna be horrible to hate, hes too good"
4 seconds a lap... that's a lifetime in F1, it's absolutely insane. I remember watching this race live but I can't recall it was THAT dominant.
A minute ahead at one stage!
He was so human out of the race track but an unstoppable force on it.

It was great to watch his first season with Ferrari. The way they gelled so quickly as a team was amazing. It was clear that a new Maestro was on his way. Forza Schumi und Ferrari!
I watched it as well, I am a huge Schumacher fan and at the time, I was stunned. I always loved Schumacher for never giving up on outright speed and dominance, even when leading literally by miles, he's still chuckin the car all over the place. In his day, when he was on, no-one could touch him.
I guess I’m not a huge fan of Schumacher but I’ll give credit where due, he is a GOD in the rain

@@unassailable6138 Rubbish, Toleman was in rain in advantage because no Turbo and refering the Schumacher movie, his colleague Irving said, the car was a mess and he until these days he do not know how he can achieve this performance.
@@krl133 Turbo cars are perfectly drivable on the rain, as long as the driver is good. Senna won Estoril on a turbo lapping everybody in the wet but the 2nd. Have you seen the Greatest Lap in F1 history? Search for Senna European GP, at Donnington he overtakes 5 cars on the first lap under heavy rain like they were nothing. All aspirated, no turbo excuse here, so why they look like they were driving road cars and get so easily overtaken by Senna using all the track and normal speed?

That was incredible, but refering the movie, the Ferrari of 1996, first year of Schumacher, was a total mess and a horrible car. His partner Irving said he didn‘t know how Schumacher could do this in the rain with such a disadvantaged car.
Schumacher trained in wet conditions using old slick tyres back then in his kart days.
