First formula 1 race i have ever saw on tv and the impression that Schumacher gave of this event was mindblowing. Cars were flying left and right off the track and the guy in red ferrari was doing some riducule lap times and overtakes other drivers like it was nothing. I thougt to myself how this is even possible? Been a fan of Schumacher ever since - for me he is the greatest driver ever. The spanish gp of 1996 was his highlight - i think Schumacher reached the heights that day that no other driver of today could get even close to. Keep fighting Champ!

Risk adversion in modern f1 is ridiculous. Wet races should be part of racing. And by the way, in rainy conditions there have never been casualites in the history of f1. Although there is a higher risk of spinning and crashing when it is wet, the speed is much lower than normal too

He helped to build the foundations of that team over the next 3 years and then went on to dominate with that team for the next 5 years. He helped and was a crucial part in building their success. He also came out of retirement and helped developed Mercedes into what they are now before Hamilton took the seat He was in. Brawn himself said Schumacher had an immense and crucial part to play in developing the car and team into what it was to dominate the sport with Hamilton at the wheel. Schumacher has and always will be the greatest F1 driver the sport has seen, alot don't like him, but anyone with common knowledge of F1 won't dispute that. Hamilton is a great, that can't be disputed. But he is not the greatest of all time. Oh to answer about others with poor equipment, Schumacher also has the most wins in a non championship winning car even though he has less wins than Hamilton, further proof Hamilton is only great with the greatest car against the other greats records.

But these are some of the best-wet weather performances in F1 history. Miss you Schumi.

The only thing that prevents me from acknowledging it as a feat of Max's skills is the fact that he did it in the best car in the track. When you're driving an Adrian Newey car that was essentially designed specifically for your driving style, it's not difficult to win races; and wet weather just amplified that. I give Max credit for admitting as recently as after the Canadian GP that it all comes down to the car. So, at least he's seeing things with a level head.

Here after Verstappen pulled a similar win today at interlagos starting P17 after almost 11 races of not winning because not having the best car....When it rains, the car doesnt matter that much and the real drivers show what they are made of.
Well it wasnt THAT long time ago....I think it was back in 2015 Silverstone when we had Williams 1-2 lead if I remember correctly. I remember it because Williams was being stupid having much faster Bottas slowing down by Massa and they didnt want to use team orders.
I remember hearing how memorable this race was because it's Schumacher's first win for Ferrari, so it's such a sight to actually watch this race, just one year before I was born!
This was Schumacher s best wet weather drive in amongst quite a few, to be so far behind after a very bad start and be in into the lead by 12 laps or so was superb, Hill hadn’t set his car up for the monsoon conditions and spun off and he was usually the only driver that could keep Schumacher honest in the rain but not this race, the other race that would be maybe be just about on a par with this race would be Monaco the following year and that’s a lot tighter with barriers but he was miles quicker than anyone in this race.

This was Schumacher s best wet weather drive in amongst quite a few, to be so far behind after a very bad start and be in into the lead by 12 laps or so was superb, Hill hadn’t set his car up for the monsoon conditions and spun off and he was usually the only driver that could keep Schumacher honest in the rain but not this race, the other race that would be maybe be just about on a par with this race would be Monaco the following year and that’s a lot tighter with barriers but he was miles quicker than anyone in this race.
All British drivers crashed out in this race.
I guess hadn't set his car set up for the wet conditions in San Marino 93, Europe 95, Japan 95
