Thx for an informative video. Approximately how long does it take to heat to 350 or 400 from first starting to prime it? My wife insists on a grill she will use instead of gas?
I am not sure, to be honest. After using this grill I found that the lid doesn't fit properly and a lot of heat and smoke comes out of it. I posted another video on this situation. Traeger has sent me a new lid, but it didn't make it better. I am waiting to hear what they will do next. Check it out on my channel.
There is a Traeger Ironwood International model that has a different display. This model Ironwood 885 was just launched for the North American market and features the Timberline display.
Thanks for the video. I just got a 885, and just finished the assembly. Time for the seasoning now. 👍🏻👍🏻
Such an amazing grill!
Dude im.getting one of these soon. Perfect time of the year too! Beer football and good food
You may want to look at my other videos for how it went down.
That heats so much faster than the old models.
Yes, it does. After using it now for several weeks I am impressed how quickly it gets up to temperature and holds it.
Please give examples of how long it takes? Thank you
Jon Wade what temperature would you like to know?
The only downside is the grease pail! We’ve got the solve!

It doesn't take long at all. I'd say 5-8 minutes from the time you press ignite. Gas will be faster, but the D2 is much faster than it was before.
So would you recommend a Traeger ironwood ? And if you do which one the 650 or 885

@@ThomasFrankOregon I think you can add a heat strip on the outside of the lip to seal it better.
Do they come in 2 different displays this model...

@@ThomasFrankOregon thank you just ordered mine and display was the different one ... looks good with the bigger disply 👍
So how long did let it burn in
Is this for barbique ?
Would you buy again or shop another brand?
I’d buy it again. It’s been a solid smoker and I’ll be posting a follow up video soon.
Producing quite a much of ash? Is that a problem?
No it’s not a problem. I have done some long cooks on it and the redesigned heat shield concentrates the ash better than before.
You can't hear him and you don't see what he's really doing
