As a first time pellet grill owner, I decided to go with the grill everyone recommended. Your video was very instructional, informative and helpful for a true beginner. Thanks
It’s my opinion that on the initial seasoning of the grill, that you should not have a liner on the drip pan. You are burning off the oils that on the grill from the factory, and you don’t really need to waste a liner
Great video man. I'm fixing to get the Iron Wood 885. Will be my first Traeger. But, I've done a ton of research and this one seems to be the one that would suit my needs the most.
What is the orange sleeve over the probe for? Is that a probe sensing smoker temp? Also do you need to keep that cover on that probe when unit is not in use? Thanks
Seems like a beer drinking guy:) Hey do you have a Traeger, I'm about to pull the trigger on this one www.costco.com/traeger-century-885-grill.product.100568794.htm
I We change ours when they start to look real bad or when we clean out the pellet debris. You can just line it with foil also. Just buy grilling foil, as it is a little thicker.
What up guys. It’s just the initial start up. I had one and switched pellets back and forth after the initial season and had no issues. But i sold the traegers and moved onto masterbuilt 1050

Getting ready to purchase the same model you have. Your video was very helpful. Thank you.
Way more helpful than the Traeger video, thank you!
Remember to remove the orange sleeve off the probe top right. It will melt
Man, I wish I’d seen this comment. Just did this and had to get a new thermocouple. Traeger is sending me a new one, but this isn’t a great start.
Just bought my first Traeger, this was very helpful, thanks
Great informative video for first time users.
I prefer to scoup pellets in. Saw dust tends to accumulated in the bottom of the bag.
my ironwood 885 said to 350 for 20 min then raise the temp to 500 for an additional 30 min. why is yours different?
Good training thanks
Do ya really have to put that many pellets in just to season it?
Only downside is the grease pail! We’ve got a fix!
Just bought a house .. What do you think I should buy for smoking and grilling ? But not huge amounts of food at a time?
I just bought a camp chef. I’ve heard nothing but great things about them.

No remove that before using it
I was going to subscribe but then I saw he was a BYU fan and you can't be a grillmaster without a Beer.

Is he Bill Burr's son
Outside temperature 80, Traeger only gets up to 451 when set to 500.......
it was only set to 450 lol
How often do we need to change out the drip pans?
I We change ours when they start to look real bad or when we clean out the pellet debris. You can just line it with foil also. Just buy grilling foil, as it is a little thicker.
Do you have to prime it everytime you use the smoker?
Only if you let it run out of pellets
Do you have to season every time you change pellets?
Still waiting on this question from Treager owner to be answered. I have this same question.
Me too, I was thinking maybe just the priming part...

@@dotdot7020 Season once, when brand new....Prime if you change wood pellet flavors or let the hopper run completely dry of pellets.
No. You only season a brand new grill.
Nice grill....but the lid should have been left open until you start seeing the smoke.
J luberto not on the 885. You keep it closed unlike say a pro22

First step
Return it to where you bought it and buy a quality product
Sorry I don’t trust anyone who wears their hat backwards.
Edit: and buys a house with window penetration below grade 🙄
Like people who wear their sunglasses backwards when not using them. So idiotic looking.
First thing you needed to do was take it back and get a refund. 😂
