Thank you for your hard work and making easy for beginners like me to get into this hobby. I went ahead and purchased the Simgot EW200 for kpop/jpop genre for around 28 dollars as my first IEMA. I had no clue where to start until I saw your upgrade guide so thanks again!

Hey, the to time you’ve been on RUclips has been entertaining and informative, thank you. Take care and may the future bring you and yours happiness. 👍☕️🍕🔥🥓
Thank you for the video and thank you for your hard work and dedication so far. Even though it might be very rare, I will always be waiting for the next video review from your channel. Good luck out there bro.. 🙋
Nice speed guide ending whoaa, me still waiting my po xenns top for end game. And thanks for every iems review, guides and memes Jay Audio :D really love your reviews vid feels so funny and not boring too. Ok Wish you all the best 😊
Great vid. As a basshead (and owner of Rosefinch, Legato, Maestro Mini) I would replace the Maestro Mini with the Scarlet Mini on your list as the MM is lacking in mid bass and too forward in upper mids to be an endgame basshead set. I also own the Meteors and glad to see you mention them. They’re borderline basshead but so good overall that they’re my fave set.
The thing I wonder is why pretty much everywhere you see the mids scooped to some degree. I really just want something that is basically the Blessing 3 minus the very strong 3khz gain.
Gonna miss your videos, but good luck with the next phase of your adventure! If you have the time though, would like to ask a quick opinion/reco. I daily drive a 7hz Zero and Tangzu Wan'er. Also use a Hifiman HE400SE and M40x (in case that helps the discussion). Music is mainly forms of rock (indie, alt, shoegaze, pop punk, jrock), instrumental (math rock, prog rock/metal, jazz fusion), indie/jazzy/bluesy/chill pop, and occasionally some hiphop (specifically Kendrick/Kanye/early Drake). So a majority is music with instruments (as opposed to more electronic things). Looking for an upgrade on the technicalities front - imaging, separation, resolution, clairty. Really enjoy the tuning of the 7hz Zero (esp instrumentals) and Wan'er (esp vocal-forward music). I can currently get a Hexa for $90, which would've been my insta-pick (Zero Red didn't seem like it would've been a big enough upgrade - can get it for $60 by the way) buuuuut, i can get an S12 for $100. Is the S12 too good of a deal to pass up? I feel like i will prefer the Hexa tuning more, but i believe the S12 is a considerable step up in technicals. And i would also be open to try out the different tuning of the S12, in addition to the better technical performance. What you think? 😅 Thanks!!!
Thanks man, best to you as well~ To answer your question, S12 has more bass and treble detail than Hexa so if that's your thing then go for the S12, but everything else is pretty similar (imaging/separation etc). Hexa is more vanilla and boring where S12 is more exciting. I actually have some other stuff on the way around the $100 price point, so you might wanna wait for that ;) (Early-mid September)
@@jayyaudio OOOHHHHHH sorry, got a little excited with you saying you have stuff coming. 🤯 Was ready to make the leap for the S12 but i'll hold off til then! Thanks man!!
In which category would you put Kiwi Ears Cadenza? Warm? Bassy? I really like my kiwi ears cadenza and I'm looking for an upgrade. Tried with ikko OH10 but they were too V-shaped for my tastes. Thanks!
I'm very glad that i found your channel. Thanks for all your videos, actually my several iem that i bought was because your review and i think that vocal centric iem is my go to iem for now. Do you think the vocal on supernova is better than oracle or EJ07m? Wish you all the best out there man and have a good life!
Happy to hear that, and thanks for the trust~ I wouldn’t say supernova is a vocal centric IEM, but it’s very well-rounded. If you got the cash go for the supernovas. And of course, best wishes to you as well :)
I disagree about the 3 drives equals more technical performance as a rule. The shure KSE12/1500 is the most resolving iem in the world by a considerable margarine. The next most transparent is the lcdi4 with the dsp compensation. The difference in resolution between these and a u12, is the difference between the u12 and the blessing 3. Both of these are single drivers, so its about implemention, not driver count. 1 driver will always be most optimal, because it has flawlessly coherency. So if you do it with one driver, then you should.
Agree for the most part especially when it comes to coherency and 1 driver. Implementation matters the most, however, most IEMs are not the KSE12 or the LDCi4 that are meticulously engineered with specific drivers and extremely well implemented that aren't mass market ones - which is why generally speaking it's better to have 3+ drivers at a "good" level of implementation vs 1 driver of at a similar "good" level of implementation. Imo the difference between the U12T vs B3 isn't drastic, and definitely not almost x10 more the performance, maybe 20% as there isn't that much of a "drastic" difference when it comes to audio unless you're jumping from an mid-range IEM to an endgame headphone lol.
Thank you for the awesome video! It would be very helpful if you could put the names of the IEMs you mention on screen. Since I am not a native english speaker I find it hard to understand what exactly you are saying at times.
Hello, what do you think of the IEMs on Ps5, which is what I have, because I know that on Xbox there is dolvy atmos and you can modify it, but without any modification on the console, what are they like?
I got to push back on that "driver for each frequency gives better details" . If that was true then iems would be more revolving than headphones, which is not even remotely close to reality when you account for a susvara, x9000, LCD5 or any of the halo flagships that completely destroy iems. Moreover, the most resolving, lowest distortion iem on the planet is either the LCDI4 or the true e-stat KSE1500, both of which have one driver. *There is no evidence whatsoever that more drivers equals better technical performance* . Just look at KZ.
Headphone drivers are different as they’re A LOT bigger and the acoustic chamber is different. I’ve had the LCDX and other stuff and they’re similar to higher end IEMs like the Monarch MK2, Z1R, and U12T resolution wise, with better low-end vs open back/neutrals. Also, KZ is known to use shitty drivers and they were caught putting in fake ones 😂 and ones that weren’t even connected LOL, so bad example. But in general for IEMs you should strive for at least 3 as they’re much smaller vs traditional headphones - there’s a diminishing return past 6 as the difference is small, so I wouldn’t go too crazy. But imo IEM wise more=better under great driver implementation and quality.
@@jayyaudio you do get perfect coherency from one driver, though. You notice that going back to a crossover setup, even if you never noticed any coherency issues just using the multi driver iem on its own. But yes, implementation is the most important thing. Ultimately, both the lcdi4 and KSE use radically different drivers than anything else you'll find on the market, because of their prohibitive R'n'D expanses. The KSE took 8 years to come to market, while the lcd i4 took 5, using all the technological breakthroughs that went into the LCD4.
Hi bro good videos . I have a question, can you explain your theory about volume ... because you say sometimes some iems at high volume, whats the differencds between high volume or a well drived iem etc Thanks!
Now I see why your Elysian has channel imbalance. If it has a dial that control sound tuning or bass, then this dial should be set precisely at the same position on both sides. Even half-degree differents may cause imbalance. I have AAW W500 Ahmorph, which has the same issue with its dial.
@@jayyaudio dang, they were delivered to me today, most reviewers said they're an upgrade over $20 iems. And honestly, they sound pretty good to me, i bought the standard version. Very balanced imo. Soundstage is good, not very bassy, mids are good, highs are not fatiguing. I'll be keeping them.
What's the best upgrade for wan er for around 100 dollars? I want an Iem that has good technicalities, great for gaming and music. I honestly want the nova because I heard good things about it and It's aesthetically pleasing
Given the amount of money you are gonna churn through ... if you really get into this, it might make more sense to just get custom moulded IEMs? There is a world of difference of fit and seal. While I dont own custom molded iems I have had 3d printed custom moulds made of my ears and those sit in my ears and seal so well, even when intensively moving around, but all the IEMs i have ever tried have been iffy fitting in my ears. Especially while being on the move. Had to try so many different ear tips, I own an entire jewelry organizer box of them now.
