If you're looking for bass, wait for the B3s Dusk. This is a neutral sound, it's for people who look for balance, which I think it's not really your style judging by your mic balance. Cheaper iems are more bassy because their target is people who don't know much about iems. These are sterile, natural and in-depth.
I don't think the Blessing 3 is sterile at all. The details shine and it handles EQ like a champ. I often put a 7.5 dB boost in the sub bass and it punches while the other details in higher frequencies remain practically unaffected. Other times I use it flat. It's extremely versatile. Depending on the Music you can EQ some mid bass as well. It Handles it incredibly
I quite like them. At first I was disappointed, because they didn't have a "wow" factor. Genuinely considered returning them. But they grew on me, and over time, the lack of a "wow" factor became the "wow" factor. They have subtlety to them that's rare in my collection. Rather than EQ'ing my music to sound more exciting, they were presenting the music as it was, with only the slightest of coloration. The mids and treble are emphasized, but buttery smooth, which is a difficult balancing act to accomplish. You get the sense that they could have squeezed more perceived detail out of the drivers by going for something more over-the-top, but the natural tuning is the star of the show. The bass isn't huge in quantity, but it's fast and richly textured. It's definitely not a basshead IEM, but the point of the Isobaric driver configuration was to make the bass drivers faster and more efficient, not necessarily make them "slam" harder I'll caution that you have to enjoy this style of tuning to justify this purchase. The lower midrange is too thin for certain genres, and you'll get more perceived detail out of something far cheaper, like an S12. But in that case, the tuning is far less even, and some of the other qualities like imaging, are also inferior. Something like an AFUL P5 may also sound technically comparable, but the quality of the treble presentation is not on par, even if it has more of a fun factor than the B3 I love the B3, but it's definitely a difficult recommendation for the average listener

I also own the A5000. I actually is very good for the money as long as you appreciate Final’s sense of tuning. I still think that the A4000 is the best value though.
@@arthurhaywood2184 despite being a vocal lover myself, A4000 sounded too vocal forward to me which causes it to sound congested and harder to perceive depth. At that price point I would go for IE200 instead.
I went for the A5000 over the B3, based on reviews rather than auditioning myself. My very first impression was... Excellent bass, excellent separation, spaciousness and resolution... But it was brighter than I expected, and depending on my mood and the recording, it can sometimes creep into VERY slight harshness (emphasis on "very slight"). It's tricky because the airiness that makes it sound spacious and crisp, is, I think, the same thing that tips the harshness over on certain tracks (think R.E.M. losing my religion). Overall I am really enjoying the flavour it brings to my collection, and am happy I bought it instead of the B3. It also looks pretty darn pretty and I like how small and light it is. I wish it came with foam tips or that there were some dedicated aftermarket foamies available for better isolation. I've tried random foamies I have lying around, but they cause too much bass to be lost and add a little more brightness. I also really like the cable and case they come with. At £50-70 less than the B3 I'm surprised they haven't been talked about a lot more.
John If you change the cable to good quality single crystal copper 4.4mm it changes this IEM. I loved this IEM once I changed the cable. I also found that Spin Fit W works best. It helps the sound signature. Sorry but with the better copper cable and Spin Fit W tip there are NO $300 IEM that come close to the blessing 3. The blessing 3 does have bass. It is just extremely tight and crisp because of the driver configuration which eliminates resonance. So my take is totally different on this IEM.
@@thaflybear I also have the DuNu sa 6 mk 2. It is much harder for me to get the Dunu to sound right. It clearly has resonances from bass drivers that blessing 3 was able to minimize. While I am able to get blessing 3 tuned slightly different depending on the cable I use so far the Dunu sounds the best with its own cable. I do have 2 more cables ariving this week to check out. Also note that I do equilize sound. I do not like heavy bass banging on my eardrum from The front of the stage. I like a more expansive presentation where the bass does not seem up front and strong but part of the whole presentation.
I been using my Blessing 2s for about a year and I absolutely love them! Though, I probably won't consider getting the Blessing 3s as they don't seem to be anything TOO special, but they definitely seem like a decent choice for anyone looking to upgrade from a cheaper pair of IEMs. I personally know I'm fine with my daily drivers, but will eventually get an upgrade or even possibly endgames at some point Also amazing video, very well shot
Loved the B2 since it came out, has been my go-to ever since, and the B3 doesnt feel like an upgrade when I tried it out, more of an alternate take/director's cut version of B2. That being said, I wholeheartedly agree about pricing. When B2 came out, there were very few IEMs as technically and tonally great as that. But, given the current budget space, this would never get a recommendation from me when something like Hexa exists.
@@doubleXnickel That is not true - Moondrop itself describing Blessing 3 as "Upgrade and Evolution of the benchmark hybrid Earphone". So the buyer easily gets the impression that tuning will be the same.

Great review, surprised by your take after all the videos 'I've seen about this IEM. I wonder if IEM makers assume all buyers are using EQ, I do. EQ can make things sound so much better for my ears.
No, that definitely isn't it. The man in charge of the Blessing has a very specific tuning he targets and that's it. Crin had a video where he talked about how the man behind the blessings was reluctant to run the B2D tuning because it wasn't to his taste. Unsurprisingly, it did better than the B2 and so the B3 has slightly more bass. That's why these are how they are. If he wanted you to scale these with EQ he wouldn't spike at the 2k and 6k but would instead level it off.
@@KaoruSugimura As I step into the IEM and audiophile world I understand how people don't use EQ. There are so many IEM's and different tunings that the frequency chart plays such a big part in how I will purchase. Like going to the Doc and getting glasses.

Helpful review, thanks for sharing. I haven't had any Moondrop iems, though have considered them. I'm wondering if it's worth trading in my oldish 7hz Timeless which I love. I find the 7hz comfortable and easy listening. However, it looses out to the sennheiser ie600 which handles complex tracks, classical etc far better than the Timeless (which I find pure fun for most tracks and great if I'm trying to do something else like work. The 7hz Timeless doesn't pull my attention so deeply into the music as the ie600. Any other suggestions to try appreciated. Sounds like the Blessing 3 might be a bit lacking in the bass and lower mids. Perhaps the variations?
Get the Blessing 3 and EQ it. Are you after details and delineation? These are your ticket. The slightly recessed upper bass/ lower mids brings out the finest microdetails. You can put a 7.5 dB sub bass boost on these without muddying any other frequencies as well. When the sub bass is called upon, it can genuinely rumble your head.
B3 only has good sub bass and then it's pulled back to much in the mid bass and lower mids which leave it thin sounding and vocals are harsh. If you EQ it though it sounds so good and neutral I love mine
Quiet the same on me. I have one EQ where I tamed the 6k. Gave a bit more mid bass. And upped the 1,5 area for more fullness. I still love the resolution and sound stage. Recently did another one where I took the monarch mk II as a baseline. Can't really decide what to use yet.
@@liammadridista2395 yeah but the capabilities of the drivers are so good that I don't regret anything. Sometimes I just the stock setting too. I bought, tested, and definitely did not like it. It is going back to refund. Bass was ok but borderline lean. Mids and gain was ok, but treble is too hot and piercing, fatiguing.
After my experience with Moondrop’s various cheaper iems, I don’t know if I’ll ever buy a higher grade one. The Arias in particular left me wanting more. Like you said, a number of other brands are smashing them across the board, and for cheaper as well.
It does not have tons of bass, though it is sometimes overwhelming on some tracks, I feel there is plenty. It is never muddy and I feel it has deep sub-bass and is very good at representing "textured" bass like a growling electric bass or an upright bass. However, it is not forgiving and I believe it needs a source capable of delivering this sub-bass (a USB-C/jack dongle on a smartphone is not) and also has nice treble extension because the Blessing 3 is quite smooth on treble compared to, let's say, an Hifiman Arya Stealth.
the blessing 3 have a lower impedance and higher sensitivity than the AKG EO-IG955 which were literally designed to be driven off a phone. by a significant margin, no less. b3: 14.5 ohm @ 120dB/Vrms(@1kHz) IG955: 32 ohm @ 93.2dB/Vrms not sure what you mean since from a physics standpoint the b3 can be driven by a hamsterwheel
I recently purchased the Blessing 3 and was excited to get it and hear it, that is right until I heard it, I've spent many hours with it but it sounds blunted and muted, nothing from my DAPS to my dongle Dac/amps can make it sound dynamic, rich or exciting. I'm not rich and this was my first kinda expensive mid-fi IEM as I purchased some cheaper budget IEMS but they sound way better than the Blessing 3. I feel like I wasted my money.
@@robertobuatti7226 The stock cable is supposedly pretty bad and replacing it could make it sound like it should. Could also be a eartip fit issue or even a bad unit.
@@thaflybear Yes definitely, I think I might get a different cable for it to see if it makes a difference in sound quality, and I'll change the ear tips, but if they still sound dull and muted and not very dynamic I'll probably sell them.
I honestly understand it as the fact that moondrop reshaped the entire low end to mimic the B2:Dusk but with half the bass boost. So this thing is absolutely terrible for anyone that will never touch EQ with a 10ft pole. On my setup I just have a +3db bass shelf, but I also have an EQ preset with +6db which i found was very fun for phonk tracks because of how fast the dual dd setup is, and being multi-DD doesn't come with the usual consequences. As another commenter said though, wouldn't really recommend them for anyone that doesn't know what they're signing up for.
If you're looking for bass, wait for the B3s Dusk. This is a neutral sound, it's for people who look for balance, which I think it's not really your style judging by your mic balance. @@arthurhaywood2184 Looking at the graph, they reminded me of the IE600's. I heard the staging is amazing
What other IEMs have you tried? Is B3 the most technical under $500?
@@thaflybear I also have the DuNu sa 6 mk 2. It is much harder for me to get the Dunu to sound right. It clearly has resonances from bass drivers that blessing 3 was able to minimize. While I am able to get blessing 3 tuned slightly different depending on the cable I use so far the Dunu sounds the best with its own cable. I do have 2 more cables ariving this week to check out.
Also note that I do equilize sound. I do not like heavy bass banging on my eardrum from
The front of the stage. I like a more expansive presentation where the bass does not seem up front and strong but part of the whole presentation.
You are one of the few who talked about the balance output, I too use balanced cable. So it will change the output right?
I have the silver Moondrop Kato ($200), I wonder if these are worth upgrading.
I have the exact ones and I’m still a fan of them; I had arias and they stopped after a couple months. I like the silicone tips from the aria as well
Nah, IMO. Sennheiser IE600 is the way
Well first think on what do you like or dislike on the KATO, then determine what iem expands on that area.
for the price, id rather cough up a lil more for the SoftEars Studio4 tbh
I been using my Blessing 2s for about a year and I absolutely love them! Though, I probably won't consider getting the Blessing 3s as they don't seem to be anything TOO special, but they definitely seem like a decent choice for anyone looking to upgrade from a cheaper pair of IEMs. I personally know I'm fine with my daily drivers, but will eventually get an upgrade or even possibly endgames at some point
Also amazing video, very well shot
Loved the B2 since it came out, has been my go-to ever since, and the B3 doesnt feel like an upgrade when I tried it out, more of an alternate take/director's cut version of B2. That being said, I wholeheartedly agree about pricing. When B2 came out, there were very few IEMs as technically and tonally great as that. But, given the current budget space, this would never get a recommendation from me when something like Hexa exists.
It's a different tonality so no, it is not an upgraded b2. Its not meant to be.
@@doubleXnickel That is not true - Moondrop itself describing Blessing 3 as "Upgrade and Evolution of the benchmark hybrid Earphone". So the buyer easily gets the impression that tuning will be the same.
@@afroamarok it definitely does some thing better than B2 and Dusk. Treble is one, also tactility and slam of the bass. Technicalities are a step up
I really enjoy my Blessing Twos. No need for the upgrade.
Great vid man, can you make a revisit on the m1070's from monolth they updated them and changed the price to $220 from $400. If you can thank you so much
That brand is an abandoned flavor of the month thing. You'd get better deal with hifiman these days.
Dude I have been waiting on you to say something about this IEM for a while!!!!! THANK YOU FINALLY!!!!!!! Your conclusion really helps me understand why I still love my Blessing 2 dusk( it has the bass) and even the Original Blessing 2...which still has more bass and dynamics but less sound stage.
Great review, very helpful, thanks
SeeAudio Midnight over the OH10? Ehh.. I don't know about that.
In the price class of 300 dollars, I think Mangird Tea 2 is still the best choice for now..
nah aful performer 5/8, softears studio 4, 7hz timeless AE, Aur AURE
@@olinafan4459 well, what you mentioned is quite acceptable. But the P5 is not that good, because the BA timbre is still very pronounced and the staging is a bit narrow. I haven't tried P8 yet. Planar? No, thank you. Aur AURE is not available in my country. And Studio 4 sells for almost 500 bucks here.
I noticed there's no notching on the stem for the silicone tips. Did you ever find them coming off in your ear? That's scary.
The stock tip eventually became loose on mine after 3 months. I switched to Dunu S&S tips and Spinfit CP145 without any issues. They both stay on snuggly.
Horizontally opposed. My man, I got a subaru in my ears now, daymm
You look so good with glasses!
I would love if you tested the 3d printed speakers from the diy perks video and let us know what you think about it!
i was wondering if you could do a round up of best iem's at different price points for gaming, as headphones get a bit hot in the summer
Blessing 3 vs Truthear Hexa?
tf
With a similar price range would you recommend the ie300 over these?
the ie300 is terrible, the ie200 is better
Nope
Why not just EQ more bass because it handles it EASILY. Its unfortunate that it doesn’t fit your ears. It can rumble my head..
Well now you've basically committed to the Dusk review
The cheap audio man sent me your way. Glad he did!
Ok so I ran into the exact issue you called out, the nozzle. The nozzle is wide in diameter and makes my ear canal soar after wearing them for a little bit. Is there anything you would recommend in this quality range with a smaller one?

Once you’ve gone Moondrop Variations…you can’t go back 😉
Can you use these with an iPad headphone out? Or an apple dongle? Cheers
yes
all iems are very easy to run
i do agree with you, blessing line for me is too analytical/detail. hard to enjoy music with these
Oooo Spicy take headphone man. I liked it. Thanks for the review, I always enjoy your stuff.
Make a video for headphones for casual music listening
None of the Blessings have much bass, that's kinda the point.
B3 only has good sub bass and then it's pulled back to much in the mid bass and lower mids which leave it thin sounding and vocals are harsh. If you EQ it though it sounds so good and neutral I love mine
I think he’ll be more pleased with the dusk 3
It you want details, you may want this. Just ask No Theme Reviews.
Josh, what are your glasses? Brand, style? I like them.
This is a reference device marketed wrong.
???? Crinicle said Blessing 3 sounds like it has more bass than the blessing 2 dusk version 😅???
Hi can you plz tell what is the intro song?
I really enjoyed the B3 but I've filled in the mid bass dip and lowered 3k a little. I found it borderline sibilant without eq
@@tidleso5637 yeah the stock tuning on the B3 doesn't do it justice. I think the B3 dusk will be a winner when it's released.
@@liammadridista2395 yeah but the capabilities of the drivers are so good that I don't regret anything.
Sometimes I just the stock setting too.
I'm using it with a Qudelix5k DAC anyway which gives me a 20 band EQ to make it fit my every need. Plus fixing my 13-15k drop on my left ear.
I will try some more other EQs of community loved ones in the future when I see the need.
@@tidleso5637 yeah I agree I have no regrets on my purchase I need to buy myself a qudelix 5k I've been meaning to get one but I've never gotten round to it.
I have a MacBook Air m1 and want it to connect to the amp(FiiO k7)
What wire do I need to use to do this?
Fiio should of included all the cables you'd need. I think with the M1 Air you need to buy the Apple USB Hub so you have a usable USB port and not a thunderbolt port.
50 shades of hype.
but u okay with fir m5 (?)
3 dusk will hopefully improve it
Moondrop Chu or Quarks will satisfy many for cheap
1:23 is the reason why resources are wasted on packaging
I bought, tested, and definitely did not like it. It is going back to refund. Bass was ok but borderline lean. Mids and gain was ok, but treble is too hot and piercing, fatiguing.

Excuse me. It s the what experience? 😂😂
I love my MIDNIGHTS👍👍😉
Final A5000 beats it easily🤣
Agreed
Tried the a5000 and it was just too sibliant for me
Wait for the dusk
After my experience with Moondrop’s various cheaper iems, I don’t know if I’ll ever buy a higher grade one. The Arias in particular left me wanting more.
Like you said, a number of other brands are smashing them across the board, and for cheaper as well.
The Blessing 2 is basically the Blessing 3 with much less bass
To quote an head-fier: "I rather listen to silence than music with the blessing 2"
The b3 is just a better b2
Kiwi ears orchestra lite is better
It does not have tons of bass, though it is sometimes overwhelming on some tracks, I feel there is plenty. It is never muddy and I feel it has deep sub-bass and is very good at representing "textured" bass like a growling electric bass or an upright bass.
However, it is not forgiving and I believe it needs a source capable of delivering this sub-bass (a USB-C/jack dongle on a smartphone is not) and also has nice treble extension because the Blessing 3 is quite smooth on treble compared to, let's say, an Hifiman Arya Stealth.
the blessing 3 have a lower impedance and higher sensitivity than the AKG EO-IG955 which were literally designed to be driven off a phone. by a significant margin, no less.
b3: 14.5 ohm @ 120dB/Vrms(@1kHz)
IG955: 32 ohm @ 93.2dB/Vrms
not sure what you mean since from a physics standpoint the b3 can be driven by a hamsterwheel
I feel like I wasted my money.
did you keep it? have you tried a new cable?
@@thaflybear Sorry which new cable?, I might sell the Blessing 3.
@@thaflybearowner here. His issue is not the cable at all
Then they praise the dusk
I honestly understand it as the fact that moondrop reshaped the entire low end to mimic the B2:Dusk but with half the bass boost. So this thing is absolutely terrible for anyone that will never touch EQ with a 10ft pole. On my setup I just have a +3db bass shelf, but I also have an EQ preset with +6db which i found was very fun for phonk tracks because of how fast the dual dd setup is, and being multi-DD doesn't come with the usual consequences.
As another commenter said though, wouldn't really recommend them for anyone that doesn't know what they're signing up for.
so they respond well to eq?
tbh just the bass boost goes a long way. but i made slight boosts and cuts to get it to moondrop's VDSF target while i was at it. no complaints.
I like them better than the sennheiser ie300.
I have yet to meet someone who actually likes the IE300 🤣
Hell, the IE200 is leagues better than the 300 IMO
B3 sounds thin to me. Underwhelming imo.
But extremely detailed and it EQs extremely well without muddying anything up. All depends on your preferences. A balace of details and engagement
Blessing iems only sound good for anime soundtracks and female vocals
