This makes me wanna do a video about ear tips. IMO ear tips matter wayyyyyy more than things like DACs, amp, and lossless files. Not even close.
New IEMTuber meta: eartip content
Let's not forget the real MVP: cables
Absolutely, I'm still trying to find the best tips for my Mext, all I got is Sancai Wide Bores on em
hell yeah mark
I agree with you completely, Mark, but I also think tips are much more subjective to each user. There are some important aspects, such as insertion depth, seal, and bore width, but how a listener achieves these goals is highly dependent on physiology. I have used other people's recommendations and not been happy, always going back to the right seal I get from Xelastics, but many others would disagree. Therefore , I think videos on how to use eartips are more valuable than individual eartip reviews.
Funny thing is that, I manage to meet the designer of the Subtonic Storm today. He told me how much of a impact eartips can affect the sound like eartip shapes, bore size, personal ear canal differences, sealing, insertion depth, etc. Really interesting but my brain definitely felt like mush after being told all that stuff I've never thought about before in audio 💀
Oh where did you meet him at? He's a great guy to talk to, super knowledgeable
@@catdampawshaker2735 I met him at the Hangout by crinacle in Singapore actually! Didn't realise who he was until I asked lol
Why he was there? Well... something seems to be in the works 👀
having technoblade in background feels like my 2 worlds clashing together, audiphile and my childhood goat technoblade :'( rest in peace king
He never dies ❤
Blood for the Blood God
Tip rolling is where I spend my money on this hobby now. I’m done buying IEM’s for the foreseeable future and I’ve got all the cables I want and need. Tip rolling keeps me spending in the hobby but also saving in the hobby :)
1. Velvets (best balance of comfort and sound)
2. Spinfit W1 (comfortable, losses slight bit of dynamics for more soundstage width compared to Velvets)
3. Azla Crystal (detail monsters of eartips, great treble extension, tight bass hits)
Agree on Azla Crystal, i loved and hated xelastecs, and i feel this is the Azla's answer to it
My 5 favorite tips
1. Spinfit CP100+
2. Spinfit W1
3. Divinus Velvet
4. Tanchjim T-APB
5. Tangzu Sancai
Is cp100 better than w1?
I have spin fit Omni. How do they compare?
Very important tip for you all, guys: Always wash brand-new eartips with soap and warm water BEFORE you use them. This can prevent medical issues like ear canal irritations and even allergies. I know that by own experience.
The Sancais smaller bass hit is definitely from the grooved texture as that helps alleviate pressure build up
Timmy said " Oh so you want some reviews huh"? 😆This man is on a roll! Great content as always and keep up the great work!
I'm surprised Azlas and Spinfits are getting such love but not the amazing Spring tips
The divinus velvet wide bore fits the symphonium crimson well. It deep inserts smoothly and since crimson has a lot of treble details that maybe fatiguing , it smoothens it and stages the IEM a little more than usual.
Wow great recommendation. These 5 are all my go out eartips and I love them, on top of that still got the tri clarion. I have been using Sancai wide bore/tri clarion on my Oriolus Szalayi; Divinus velvet/Sancai normal on my Aroma Jewel; Dunu S&S / W1 on my ie900 ❤
Yes ive been waiting for this my whole life
My top 5:
1. Eletech Baroque
2. Spiral Dot++
3. Spinfit W1/Omni
4. Azla Sednaearfit Crystal
5. Spinfit CP155
Baroque is like a Divinus Velvet + Spiral Dot++, Velvet shape and smoothness with the thin material like the Spiral Dot++, which is very comfortable and secure (although it's quite pricey). Divinus Velvet's material is just too hard which causes pain after a while, but the shape and quality is top tier (and you get a free eartip case).
I use the CP155 on my Zero Red, it's really confortable and I can insert it pretty deep
@@yuukishin242 Yeah, I use CP155 for iems with wide but short nozzles (pilgrim), and the shape is also very comfortable
I’m always interested in hearing about new eartips! When you’ve already found a great high-end IEM then eartips are the one of the few relatively affordable ways to make your set up even better
based on what Gizaudio just said about the Tang Sancai, im really curious on about how that works with the tang sancai narrow bore thay they just recently released.
A lot of people is insterested in eartips because changing the in ears change the sound obviously But changing eartips changes the sound too A Lot in some models doin' it changes the sound like you have purchased another model of in ear
The azla crystal tws version is my new favorite for resin shell IEMS with wide and straight nozzles, like the dusk, nova, Kara and so on. I just stick them nearly flush with the nozzle and they are by far the most comfortable to use and good sounding for these types of IEMs. I use w1 only for the Diva as it comes as stock and switching away from them results in the sound changing drastically. I use Omni for the hype 10 as it sticks out too much if I use other tips, and it sounds great as well.
great video timmy, personally i do not use the dunu ss as they're way too sticky - i clean my ears every day and prior to each use of iems, generally right before insertion, i take a zeiss glass wipe (best lens wipes) and clean the eartips / iems first, then my ear canals. dunu ss is way too sticky for that, as is the w1. my go to tips are the kbear 07 - best seal and sound (at a great price). next choice would be the spinfit 100.
Thanks for this. Very helpful. I tried the Dunus and , sure enough, they didn't fit my ears at all. No seal. The spinfits are great for me however. I also recently purchased the Kbear 07's and they work very well for me too. A little more budget option. They give you nice bass especially.
I think videos like this are a great help. Tips do make a huge difference!
Very helpful for those new to the hobby!
Interesting video on various kinds of tips
I recently bought Fiio's HS19 selection of eartips. I was curious about the biflange/double-flange eartip it came with... I feel like the bass was blowing my ears away. Like if you have a subwoofer, it's right on your sides. Not that I'm complaining. It wasn't as grippy as I expected too due to the dual seal, so that's a plus for me.
It also has 4 other kinds of tips: Memory Foams (2 Medium), Vocal (3 Assorted), Bass (3 Assorted), and Balanced tips (3 Assorted). All in all 12 pairs of eartips. For around 15 USD I think (got it for cheaper due to localized pricing where I buy).
It comes very cheap so if anyone's gonna dive into tiprolling, I guess you can try this set out.
Edit: Added more details for the Biflange. Will try the other tips later!
Finally. Someone talking about the HS19s
@@ninsudang2284 yeahhhh
The Vocals and Balanced tips weren't as I expected, except the boosted bass, which is funny cuz it wasn't as lacking in bass which the "bass" tips have. Likely due to the wider bore of the bass tips compared to the other 2. That, or due to the v-shapeness that's already done by my IEM (Intuaura Luna Plume).
The vocal tips were more comfortable though than the balanced or bass tips. The silicon material used for it felt way softer, which added to the comfort. Like the bi-flange, it wasn't as grippy too. And by that, I meant earwax gripping.
I haven't used the memory foam at all, mostly due to how sweaty my working conditions are right now. I don't wanna soil them with my acidic sweat lol.
Edit: clarity on 2nd paragraph
eartips is a niche within a niche hobby and with an 'ocean' of tips that we can find, is it very helpful video like yours can narrow down and help us to have an informed decision when buying eartips
call my crazy or whatever but this is what i experience from tip rolling
long nozzle eartips make sound a bit hollow or a bit warmer, reduce highs, give a bit of bass and give more depth to the soundstage.
short nozzle eartips make cleaner sounds, give sparkle, reduce bass quantity and less depth on the soundstage.
you can try this by putting o-ring in the nozzle or using larger eartips
then wider eartips reduce sub bass, give more mid bass slam and then wider soundstage
then narrow bore eartips give emphasis on bass and make the sound kinda congested and make soundstage less wide
also depends on how tight the eartips bore grips on the nozzle, it effects the bass like if the eartips grips tight the bass sounds tight or if the grips a bit loose then the bass sounds loose.
you try it by putting o-rings in your eartips bore to make it grip tight.
also the material its made affects the sound. i have eartips that are like literally the same but have different materials and they sounds a bit different to each other for some reason
3:48 I bought de Dunu S&S before this video's release, and thankfully I got the variaty pack. I usually use standard size in my left ear and medium in my right one, but with these tips I only could get a good seal using a medium size in my left ear and a large in my right ear. Once I found this out, I discovered I really good and confortable fit
I had no idea that eartips make such a difference in sound but I have quickly learned that they make a huge difference in sound characteristic's and comfort/fit. I don't own any aftermarket tips yet but I would like to purchase the Divinus Velvet and a set of Moondrop Springtips first! Thanks @ Timmy for the recommendation on the Final E tips they sound perfect for me!
Recently got the Tangzu Xuan NV, which include plain white tips by default. Two sets of Sencai tips seem to be included. Great sounding, comfortable IEMs.
Liked the video - Thanks for the ear tip content!
Hi Timmy,
I took advantage of the mid-year sales to buy the Studio4. You spoke so highly of it in your videos and I can confirm they are fantastic! However, I learned after my purchase that it was limited to 500 units. I said to myself wow, I just bought some superb and rare iem! Now I'm wondering if you have any information regarding the number of units put up for sale by manufacturers, for your collabs for example? I also own the SA6, SA3, Davinci, Galileo, MP145, Pula PA 02, Hexa and many others...I wonder if one of them might be sought after in the future? Maybe an interesting subject for a future video? Best regards.
Ear tips can dramatically change the flavor of iems. Thanks for doing this.
I have the sancai for my hola, and both w1 and s&s for my nova (depends what i want at that moment) great tips
These 5 eartips already accompanied me througout the years
Super great
Dunu S and S tips are great for me. I wasnt sure how they would be but man they are comfortable and seal so well. Also sedna light
Love content on eartips keep it up
The DUNU S&S tips saved the hobby for me. I didn’t think I’d ever find tips that were comfortable for me until I found these. I really wish they’d come out with a MS, though.
A year back or so i got KZ EDX Pro and got one of the biggest trauma of my life.
I was listening to music and having breakfast. When i finished my breakfast and decided to stand up without realising that the cable was somehow trapped between my knees and then obviously the cable got stretched and iems came out of my ears but still the one of the eartips didn't and got stuck in my ear.
I was more than horrified because the more i tried to remove the more it got stuck in my ear canal and looked like it was going to insert in my ear and only option option was to get an appointment with my doctor and could get into operation situation if it was severely stuck. Many worst of worst things were going in my mind.
I had also cut my nails few days before but luckily my brother had some nails so he tried deliberately picking up as precisely as he can with the very much invisible eartips to grab and pull it and he eventually succeeded in that. Then i got breath of relief.
Mind you i had many incident where iems got pulled from my ears due to cables getting trapped in doorknobs and what not but had any eartips pulled out and stuck in my ears. Also it was brand new and only used that eartip in that iem only so there is no case of loosing the strength and the only time it was out of iems when it was brand new and had to apply it by myself for the first time and never took out after that. And yes i always check if eartips are properly sealed and applied or not after getting new iems and it was properly applied.
It was definitely quality control issues from the KZ side and never bought another pair from them again.
Picked up a package of the Final Type E tips on a blind buy a couple of weeks ago at Audio46 in midtown Manhattan, and they somehow improved the sound of my KS 10 PROs...
It might have something to do with the narrow bore and specific left/right fitting tip...
Didn't think that was possible...
Yeah sancai balanced eartips decreases bass while sancai wide bore increases bass.
the divinus velvets are super amazing and comfortable, bought a box when in japan e-earphones and was surprised it was so cheap
using it with my mega5est now
I was using the W1, and then I got the s&s and now those Dunu tips are my main tips
IEMs are like a great speaker system. Eartips like the room you place them in and the comfy chair you sit in. Devinus velvet WB for me..❤
Honestly, I agree that the W1 is really comfy but mine were great for a few months until one of them started slipping out in my ear - they're useless now unfortunately. I've tried cleaning them and my IEMs so I can only assume that the bit which goes around the nozzle has warped somehow.
Has anybody been able to get theirs to stop slipping off?
Hello, can you please advise a little uninformed person? What earplugs do you recommend to buy for my TRUTHEAR x Crinacle ZERO Red + TempoTec Sonata BHD Pro. If it helps in any way, my preferred music is melodic pop with vocals 80% and some phonk 20%. I want to emphasize the depth of sound and a nice warm sound. I apologize in advance that perhaps incorrectly ask the question, as I am poorly versed in the topic of iem headphones and this is my first pair, before that generally used wireless earplugs + some unknown gaming headphones. Аnd also thanks to your reviews, thanks to them I chose zero red.
0:26 I expect that it is like when you try a lot of cars or own a car for a long time, you change its tires as a kind of renewal or change, so there is someone who cares.
DDhifi green cheap tips surprised me, they are comfortable soft, have the same gimmicky pivot as the spin fits and have worked for me with different types of nozzles.
Guys i want to buy salnotes zero 2 but i also need iem with mic, so what cable you guys suggest and what eartips for salnotes zero 2?
I am currently using the w1 extremely comfortable i also feel as if it smoothened the treble little bit compared to stock
I basically only use the dunu s&s and the spinfit w1 now. The divinus velvet are great, but they don't jive with my ears well. I have tried the softears uc clear and literally only like them on my blessing 2's
For some odd reason, the Dunu S&S tips can't fit properly other than on Tangzu Zetian Wu for me. Every other IEMs i tried them on just felt odd and uncomfortable. Final E tips, on the other hand, is always comfortable on everything.
For the IE600, should I get the normal Velvet or wide bore Velvet help with bass boosting? I listen to hip hop and house music. Thanks
Don’t know what version of the spin fits it is but it’s the one that comes/came with dunu est 112 had it get stuck in my ears on 2 or 3 occasions, at that time I only had the est 112 so it was like what you mentioned in the video regarding the w1.
Which eartip do you recommend for hisenior mega 5?
ear tips is personal preference but what i want to see is wire video since there are many types of wire with different connector and plugin, hope you make one with your fav one
The fact you get two of these sets from a Tangzu Fudu Verse 1 is a killer deal then 😅
Divinus Velvets became my goto tips after trying them on the Fudu. I pretty much commute exclusively with the Fudu because the extra bass compensates for the rumbling noise of the bus and light rail.
can the w1 fit the PA02 well? cause on their product page it suggests 5-6mm nozzle size while the nozzle for the PA06 is 6.2mm
Nice!!
Yo jimy ples i need your help,, i buy the studio 4 but realise this dont have a hole for relief pressure, im looking for a tip that helpme with that,, dont matter if base get down ples heeeelp, what tip you recomend in this case
final audio type E helped my KZ PR3 to overcome from scratchy treble without sacrificing the technical details, using with my portable dac ibasso dc04 pro make it even more good sounding and reminds me of nicehck F1 pro.
Dunu SS tips with tanchjim 4U ultra & KZ as16 pro really push the boundary with good soundstage & imaging. very natural & tight sounding and tame little bass coming from AS16 pro.
i use TRI clarion to reduce little amt of bass as i like tighter bass with good treble extension, use it with kz castor bass, letshouer S12.
Which one would you recommend for the S12? I don't want to lose bass. Can the S12 sound wide with any?
@@Thoughtflux I hv S12 n I use dunu SS tips, Sound Stage becomes wide n depth without sacrificing bass. Use portable dac to give power to this planar iem.
@@shaikhfaridh4269 have you tried other tips on the S12? Is the dunu ss best for s12?
@@shaikhfaridh4269 Thanks for your recommendation man! I got the dunu ss for the S12 and man it sounds incredibly better! Tastefully better treble and feel the bass is more impactful. I swear there are more details now!
1.- W1
2.-Coreir Brass
3.- Divinus
4.- Sancai
5.- Sedna Earfit Crystal
Honorific mention - S&S
Nice video 😌 & you're right theres a lot of people that we're excited about this! P.S. OMKIII
No foams?
I gotta stick with comply active sport for all my IEMs since my ears go so sweaty that anything with silicone or rubber get pushed out of my ear cannal within 10 minutes or me even just chewing.
Have enjoyed the Zeos Render Tips. Would like to see your opinion on those.
Which ear tips would you recommend for 64 Audio IEM’s?
Timmy likes narrow bore eartips? Well, tangzu just made an new sancai narrow bore version. Looking forward for the future review.
What is specifically your favorite tip for the annihilator?
As much love as the W1’s get, I can never seem to get a good deal with them. I’ve tried 4 of their sizes on both my Truthear Hexa and Dunu Titan S and they are comfortable and even slightly increase the soundstage which is awesome, but it always feels like they begin to slightly slide out of my ears after I push them in and they end up feeling like they’re just resting at the entrance of my ear-canal. Do I need deeper-fitting eartips instead or is it supposed to be basically at the entrance? I’m starting to think that I might need to try the Dunu S&S tips
Hopefully the S&S tips actually fit the Titan S
try grippy eartips like azla sedna earfitmax or azla crystal.
I have the truthear crinacke zero reds, and the nozzle is bigge4 than normal items. Which of these tips is good for this iem?
The Tangzu tips have saved me from non vented IEMs. Makes them way more comfortable to wear, I thought the texture was just a gimmick but wow it actually works.
Is there any eartips or something that will reduce the fatigue from the IEM's shell/size?
Give me suggestions on what is suitable for KZ Castor Bass Boost?
What tips do you use for your Diva? Stock Spinfit ones?
for small nozzle dunu s&s is great and won't loosen grip after a while like cp100 from spinfit, however on nozzles of 6mm nothing works for me except dunu cp155
zeos has 1 collab on that combine foam and silicon, I'm curious to know you feedback on them.
Would love to see measurements. Most times I've measured the tip options that come with IEMs there's almost no tonal change at all.
Which are your favorite tips on the OG oracles. I know you still pop those in every once in a while.
Describing the velvets as every similar word but never calling them velvety. I say they are named very appropriately.
Currently, my favorite is dunu's candy tip. After that, I would say w1 or omni (depending on nozzle length), velvet, ultra clear, and final e.
Tbh.. I don't know which is wide bore, which is non-wide bore eartips.. Most of them does not specified..
Any advice on good narrow or regular eartips?..
Saw the tangzu sancai and dunu s&s in the thumbnail, so that got me interested. But why you gotta make me cry with Technoblade at the bacground 😢
Great video and Rest well king 👑🐷
Which eartips would you use with Moondrop Dusk Analogue tuning
The Divinus Velvet works/sounds best for my Blessing 3, many of the other tips can come out in your ear as the nozzle is a bit smaller then the older blessing iem's.
Zeos Render Tips always seem to give me a great seal.
hey timmy, great video! have you heard the wide bore sancai tips as well, and if so, what do you think about them? btw the issue you have with the w1 also happened to my s&s tips
on another note, Technoblade never dies!
I'm sad that Eletech Baroque eartips aren't included on this list, but really enjoyed the video and alternatives, especially the Divinus Velvet tips!
I like them but expensive
@@Gizaudio that's fair. Both Eletech Baroque and Divinus Velvet have the traits of shorter insertion, wide bore, and ultra comfortable, but each has small differences and pricing to make them unique.
In my case, the Baroque are my new go to eartips, and are sublime with my AKG N5005 IEM's.
I'm also happy eartips like Baroque and Velvet exist, making comfort the priority without deep insertion (which, for some, including myself, can cause ear irritation) and don't narrow an earphones' bore. Having two options and competition in this space is fantastic for consumers and enthusiasts!
I just use acoustune aet08 to my tin hifi c3, it perfectly fine to use and give me warm treble and soft punchy bass on it
Eartips, like the Velvet for example, can definitely embellish the sound. I've got 'em for ~$10 from china market as a welcome bonus for a new account at the summer sale.
Ive tried the spinfit w1 and i dont like it tbh
man , i miss him....
My used eartips also
Divinus velvet
S&S Dunu
Tangzu Sancai
Spinfit w1
If the spinfit w1 is longer i cut it a little. the sound is better to the sennheiser is200 if you mod
Anyone like foam tip? I can't use silicon tip because they slip off my ears too easy.
S&S with Zero Red is a crash course in pain 😂. But its pretty good sound wise
useful vid as always and...
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
@@anteriti3010 BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!
I have tricky ears ergo wise, tips are a major matter to me.
Tips and seal make such a difference when it comes to IEMs. New channel here, would love some support if you guys don't mind 🙂
Timmy, how about you try TRI Clarion, one of most sibilant, and it's improve the soundstage too, one of my favourite
Idk, i need eartip recos for the project red
No foam tips?
I agree with a Timmy about E type but I hate the sancai! I bought the bc Timmy mentioned it on one of his vids but I just don’t like it. It makes my IEM less resolving to my ears. Although the do a good job of relieving pressure especially on my IER M9
I use SnS every day, but I would like to try the Velvets at some point
Yup, Spinfit W1 does go lose with some use. I can barely use mine now.
I've only tried Sancai and S&S in this list both of them are REALLY good I'm gonna need to try some of the others on this list.
I haven’t tried the S&S yet, but they seem like they’re great. I’m enjoying the Spinfit W1’s
@@ravantgarde1899 they're pretty good imo, but I'd say they need a demo first get the wrong size and it hurts to deep fit which is how I use my S&S
Dunu SS are my fav
