- In this Minecraft redstone video, Mumbo uses the immersive portals mod to create an impossible base in Minecraft. Just like the Mumbo Tardis in Minecraft video, this makes use of the immersive portals mod to create non-Euclidian geometry in Minecraft, allowing us to have rooms that are positioned in illogical ways.

These portals are so immersive that I forgot I was actually building a bedroom in the Nether... it’s very good I didn’t test the bed!

to be fair, it wasn't really the Redstone failing, but the portal mod having issues with multiple portals being generated at the same time
No it's minecraft's "1 block at a time" system. If multiple things happen at the same exact game tick, then stuff tends to go wrong.

Friendly reminder that the portal frame as we know it is the "minimum" size, you can build them taller or larger for a more estheticaly pleasing effect, depending on your build
Also, they can be placed horizontally for added flair to traps or hole entrances
the sizes of the different portals behind each other would need to be the same. so there would be spots you could potentially slip around one and into the other, but if you looked thru the 1st you couldn't access the 2nd.

Sounds like a prank that could be pulled on the server.
Link a chain series of portals so that the Bdubs thinks the room is in the Overworld but is in the nether. Have the walls 2-3 thick wood/stone with an exterior of obsidian & no windows.
Place a grand bed in the center & trick him into the room around sundown (game time).
Poor Bdubs will be exploded on everyone's chat messages.

Imagine "stacking" these. You could have a room that leads to 3 other rooms, which lead to another 3 rooms each, and so on. Or you could make a maze with loops that wouldn't make sense

@@Synnnister_ I think that’s not what was suggested. In the over world in your house, set a portal. Go through the portal and set another portal linking back to the over world. Now build your bedroom in the over world.
To hide the bedroom, just make sure that when you come out of the second portal in the over world that you come out underground. No ones talking about moving any blocks.

The infinite staircase was a fun one. Problem is, I didn't realize that when the portal is right next to a stair, you can fall through the floor. I made the staircase as a nod to the classic up hill both ways joke

Actually, the Immersive Portals isn't nearly as simple as you make it sound. You've completely overlooked the portal helper blocks and all of the Immersive Portals commands, including the one to put you in isometric view (no depth)

Two things, first, for modders, the april fools mod that generates a dimension based on a book tossed into the portal, that mechanic could be used to determine where and in which direction a portal connects.

Here's a thought. Do the reverse. Build the rooms in the overworld, but make the Redstone part in the nether. That way you have a portal leading to the entryway of the house (which is in the nether), and the entryway has portals to each room (in the overworld). Then you'd have a functional bed in the bedroom you could sleep in.
So... this is how in Scooby Doo they run into a door to leave through other? Interesting...

@@wiktoriaantonowicz9290 The portals lead to the nether, the devs programmed it so in the nether and the end right clicking a bed will blow it up, which is also why you will see speedrunners take beds with them and kill the ender dragon using them.

As a solution to the whole bedroom-in-the-Nether issue, you could just set up a second portal at the end of the first one taking you back to the overworld and link it up to an overworld portal that is underground or on the second story so the room is still relatively hidden.
Here’s a daft idea, a tiny dirt hut that is absolutely massive on the inside and filled with redstone contraptions

I like that mumbo did not realise that he literally built a "bedroom" in the nether with normal beds. I have a better idea for a bedroom in the nether. You could build a big bed with carpets one block from the ground with trapdoors on the sides with a respawn anchor inside the fake bed.

Tip for mumbo, you can connect two portals together in the overworld, so a portal in overworld connects to another portal in the same dimension without leading into a nether. There is also an option to make portals without ugly obsidian. Watch non euclidien Minecraft for impossible house ideas
Edit: I’m talking about the mod mumbo is using. What I suggested is not possible in vanilla
A great way of doing this is with the example datapack found on the wiki for creating diamond portals. I recently made an infinite falling sand loop using this.

You know, looking at this, if you somehow get your friend to download the mod without them knowing what it does you could prank them pretty good. Just make a regular house, have normal sized rooms and such, but make a portal to the bedroom. Just make sure they can't hear or see anything netherlike and wait till night >:)
Secretly shove the mod into a modpack along with a mod to remove nether portal sounds/particles (So you don't raise suspicion by asking them to turn them off)

@@easypeezy9142 basically, this mod adds some dimensions, one like the aether dimension, one void dimension/skyblock type thing, and then another one with crazy world generation. And there’s a portal helper block which allows you to link portals, and there’s a whole bunch of other stuff

Basically there’s a portal helper block which lets you create portals that don’t have to lead to the nether. They can lead to somewhere else in the overworld, lead into the end, or the extra dimensions it adds. You can change the scale of the portal (how big the other side appears) and the rotation of the portal itself or the rotation of its destination. You can create infinite portal loops, 1 way portals, scaled views (a bunch of portals with a certain scale all leading to a specific area, such as the end. Use “/execute in the_end run portal create_scaled_box_view -150 0 -150 150 128 150 50 @s true false” to create a scaled box of the end on yourself, with full teleporting capabilities to and from the end), and much more.
Oh also it adds mirrors. Don’t try and put 6 mirrors close to each other.
@DeShine have you ever been in a room with a mirror for each wall? Imagine trying to process that, but with the floor and ceiling also being mirrors. The mod has to lower the amount of portals being shown due to how much lag it creates.

this actually reminded me of Dishonored 2 a little. there's a mission where you have to explore a mansion in 2 timelines simultaneously. What if you created a mansion in the overworld and then built portals in some rooms. Those portals would transport you to the same mansion but in a different timeline, and those rooms would be built in the nether.
