Spectator mode has no gravity and no hotbar, so unless he took a lot of time to make it look like he wasn't in spectator mode... He does switch to it after (I think to get out of the nether without breaking anything)
And with the Create mod, you could easily do a "portal cycler", where you can push a portal frame away and light up another portal to another dimension instead :3
A cool side-effect of the immersive portals piston door is if someone breaks through the iron blocks they will just end up in the nether instead of on the other side of the door

The portal mod looks really cool, altho I don’t think it’s very “Minecrafty” so it will probably only be a mod, however the other stuff kinda looks like it could be added to the game
I mean, in other forms of media, portals are usually able to be seen through; you can see what’s on the other side of the portal. I know what you mean about the minecraft thing but I think that immersive portals make more sense, while they do destroy any PC that has to run them
Maybe they shouldn’t add the being able to see through them part but it would be nice if the transition from the over world to the Nether was so smooth
5:01 my guess: While the nether is loaded with immersive portals, player collision in the nether is not - If you try to load player collision in a different dimension than where the player is, you have a likelihood (Not with any certainty, I don't know THAT much) of running into errors and crashing, so it doesn't. This is supported by the fact that all IP does is keep the Nether loaded and use a camera that is dynamically placed and rendering. Since there is no longer a loading screen in-between, when you enter the nether player collision has to load. The obsidian overlaps, so no problem there, but the iron is only in the nether. If you go FAST enough, you can outrun the game's logic so it doesn't have enough time to fully load collision before you go through the iron. This usually doesn't happen, so it's not really that common - You just happened to go fast enough.
To simplify The player isn't actually in nether when walking through the portal until it's behind the middle of block which can cause player to partially phase into the block directly behind the portal (because players is wider than half block) especially likely if the portal hasn't been used by the said player in some time. (probably was done intentionally by the devs to optimise the portals to lag less?) Or The game lagged at the right moment and the slight delay was enough for him to walk into where the iron block should be but because isn't in nether yet isn't until the few ticks later. Either way I don't see an issue with someone trying to forcibly walk through the door to end up in lava that isn't even visible. It would be equivalent of smashing your face on door because you walked without opening it and that's just hilarious
immersive portals adds a "portal helper" block which allows you to make 2 frames and link them up, whether across dimensions or just 2 points in the overworld. the frame does not have to be in tact for the portal to remain so you can replace the frame with any block after lightning it. it also allows the use of 1 way portals if you set it up correctly. things can get so much more confusing so quickly and i would like to see what you can do with this information
The reason why you are going through those solid blocks with Immersive Portals, is because you are flying too fast in Creative, and by the time you are actually inside the Nether (via teleporting essentially), your position was inside the solid block slightly, which allows you to move inside that block. In other words: it shouldn't let you go through it if you are moving around with Vanilla methods (walking, running, jumping, etc). I am pretty sure there is a setting that checks for "loose movement" or something, which might mitigate that "issue", but you'll need to test it out.
I feel like the hoe would be a good tool they could give the rotation effect to. Left click a block that can be rotated (logs, glazed terracotta, Redstone components) and it will spin the item to the next orientation. Would make building a lot more efficient

Well, if I tried to hit my head on some of iron and fell into lava, I would be impressed by how safe the base would be! 5:00 You could make netherportals all around a secret room (yes a room inside a nether portal room) , and it would be really hidden!
7:00. That is probably the deadliest weapon you've created ever. Your just not evil enough to understand what you have done. And all you need is two adjustments. First, use the ability you added to move chests to attach some to this, and make it hopper into the dispenser. This would increase the "Ammo count". The second is to replace those arrows with TNT. Now you have a very deadly "carpet bomber" design. It's used a lot in servers like 2B2T to destroy bases, and the general landscape. but what you did was spread the TNT out. Normally machines like this set TNT in a strait line. Which when the TNT blows up, it sends other TNT in a rather linear "forwards and backwards" direction. But this design also places it to the left and right of the block. Meaning it will be far more likely to launch TNT in the "outwards" directions. What this means it it will effectively destroy less strait down. But more "surface area" damage will be done. Making it less of a "trenching" machine, but far better at covering larger areas of the map at a time. Which you want when destroying surface level bases, and farmland. Granted there are machines that use 3 pistons to achieve a similar effect, but this adds a level of almost random placement. making the TNT harder to predict where it will get launched. All in all, this is a deadly design. Your just too nice of a person to see it.

5:04 i think the fact that you can walk through that door is actually useful, because you dont end up on the other side of the door, you end up in the nether. You could totally put a bunch of lava or whatever under there, so if anyone tries to glitch (or i guess break) through the door, they end up falling in lava. That’s actually a very secure door

they don't listen to people...
literally ruined pvp when the vast majority of people didn't want it and still don't want it.
Well, if I tried to hit my head on some of iron and fell into lava, I would be impressed by how safe the base would be! 5:00
You could make netherportals all around a secret room (yes a room inside a nether portal room) , and it would be really hidden!
I love how he keeps building things while everything is on fire in the background.
Sums up my job perfectly.
Mumbo: They won't be too game changing just some little tweaks
also Mumbo: Immersive Portals
Your just too nice of a person to see it.
a cool idea for Redstone thing would be a birthday cake that opens up and pushes a sheep out of it. let's get mumbo to see this.
Mumbo at the end of the video: *”My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined”*

What amazes me so much about the immersive portals is that you can build in the nether from the overworld
Also, even if you can phase through the door you still end up in the nether instead of through the door.

"Can you show me what perfect means?"
"Minecraft"
You know what perfection is?

"And now the games embarrassed me in front of all of my friends."

Mumbo builds a little chain walking machine

Mumbo: “Minecraft is a perfect game but can be made more perfect”

5:04 i think the fact that you can walk through that door is actually useful, because you dont end up on the other side of the door, you end up in the nether. You could totally put a bunch of lava or whatever under there, so if anyone tries to glitch (or i guess break) through the door, they end up falling in lava. That’s actually a very secure door
4:50 that chicken is always there lol 🤣
