I know I'm late to this video, but this is easily one of the coolest things I've ever seen made in Minecraft. It's gorgeous and amazingly functional.

There is a mod which allows you to sort of “shrink” and stand on a block, the block will become 16x16 and you can build on it. Then u can “grow” back up and your structure would stay small. Works with red stone. You should check it out

What is its name?
I did some searching and i think this was the "little blocks" mod (not to be confused with "little tiles" or "microblocks"). I remember them having redstone support, but that the mechanics where slightly different and not really fully functional. That might have changed by now.

I think that could be a fun idea, but if there are too many digits no one will try until lots of hits are already found and he can't make much profit, and if there are too little digits someone can just brute force it and there won't be much of a game

the cool thing about this machine is that it's basically a cube in shape, meaning if possible it is entirely feasible to imagine it as a shrunken down block machine in its own right

The confidence with which mumbo says there's 356 days in a year breaks me.
I don't know if you remember this but the seven segment display you designed in this is extremely similar to one you yourself designed five years ago. In the video you called it a smart display. It was a display that would show whatever number you entered on a keypad that also used a redcoder, but the keypad of your smart display was in a grid instead of a row. I think you may be able to improve this design by revisiting your old smart display video.

Watching this, as a mechanical engineer, I have to say: you put an absurd amount of effort into these and it’s amazing to watch.
i've had to deal with seven segment decoders in an electronics course and found them to be a little bit confusing, so to see you execute one in minecraft so effortlessly is very impressive.
Effortlessly, you say. I'm pretty sure there was a lot of pain and head scratching involved, even if he doesn't say so. Mumbo is intelligent, but I think he grinds his mental gears more than he acknowledges on his channel.

Seven segment decoders in Minecraft are not very hard. All you need is a simple encoder and then some wiring at the end that connects to each segment and you a seven segment decoder. 3 lamps per segment is even easier

The funniest thing about this whole video isn't the 356, it's the fact mumbo decided to use the old school seven segment display redstone instead of the one using cauldrons and comparators, probably so you didn't have to circle the numbers around and could type them in, but it's still funny.
For those who don't know what I mean, this version of the circuit dates back to at least 2014, while I have no clue about the cauldron one, but I only saw it used post 2015

quick fun fact about immersive portals: you can do interdimensional redstone with a dispenser and a target block, both on other sides of the portal, meaning you can recieve up to 6 seperate signals, send 6 signals, or any inbetween, or even send near instant signals across the world with the portal helpers. do with this what you will.
Edit: i forgot, you can make different size portals, so a LOT of inputs and outputs.

You could also use droppers and hoppers with comparators. Make a dropper on dimension 1 drop an item into a hopper in dimension 2 and a comparator detects it to create a signal. Additionally, you can make the items loop
@@migueltovarguerrero2582 the only issue with that idea is it cant really have up or down, as that might trigger the wrong hopper if you have lines of them, you'd have to go really tall for that to work, with dispensers and target blocks, you just have 2 blocks with no real limitations as to how they have to be set up, just have the target block directly across from the dispenser.

Yes, it does look like typical redstone computer circuitry.
As a digital electronics student, we are honestly surprised at how accurate redstone is when compared to real life wiring.

Redstone does not emulate sink and source currents. That's why "open drain" will never be used in redstone builds...

Individually controlling 7-segment diplays quickly becomes a mountain of clutter even IRL, and here Mumbo does it in Minecraft.
It's insanely clever how you can use redstone's properties to overcome its limitations, it really shows it's not a neutered imitation of circuitry, just different.
There is a mod called "Smaller Units" it's basically the Little Blocks mod for 1.16.5, but it allows you to choose the grid size.
its easier to sue immersive portals since it frames the original build either making it smaller or bigger in a 1 dimension
What I love about this is 9 times out of 10 that would be a clickbait thumbnail or just a mod. But he put in the work and created something original and very useful. I always love seeing what other original concept mumbo comes up with. Amazing video 10/10!

there is one slight problem with this, and that the door doesn't close in a limited time. A solution to this is to make it so that the code on the bar resets on its own when it is the right code in a limited amount of time
the create mod makes things like this simpler but it’s less cool because it’s simpler this was awesome
