now that the x100vi has been announced, will you be getting one? 😄
I was expecting x100vi and x-pro4 ti have the sensor that is in H2S, 26mp one, stacked sensor! i see no point for 40mp, one card slot but cf-exprees one and ibis, which we get, and a little bit bigger body, just 2/3 mm more wide for the bigger battery...maybe 7 will have that

I have an X100V and won’t be upgrading to the X100VI as I’ve only had the camera since May, so less than a year and I want to get a full years worth out of the camera which is still an amazing camera.
A lot of reviewers say there’s no real need to upgrade to the X100VI if you already have the X100V, and I see a good number of people who don’t feel the upgraded X100VI has enough things to upgrade for, and others who really want the new upgrade. It’s a win win for whatever decision people who have an X100V make. But for me, it’s very much a case I want a full years use out of my X100V.
I might upgrade to an X100VI later in the year (if not to hard to order by then), but I may switch to another Fujifilm model or a Leica. But I’m more interested in the reviews and comparisons of people who actually have bought the X100VI when they receive them as opposed to these reviewers, who have been given the X100VI from Fujifilm to review. I presume the X100VI will be a brilliant camera, but reviews from people who actually bought the camera are more honest.
that's totally fair! i feel like if you own any x100 model, especially the x100v, this isn't a crazy upgrade. i already own a x-t5 in addition to my x100v so i really have no reason to get what is essentially an x-t5 in a x100 body 😆 but if you have the money for it and still wanna try out the new one after your 1 year is up, go for it!!
100% agree on the hyped up "market resale" prices in the last 1-2 years on the 100v. It actually kept me from buying one. I just picked up the 100VI since it was easy to secure one through a retailer friend, and spent the last day shooting on it. Not that anyone else should care about my opinion, but my initial impression is it's ok'ish at best. Time will tell if I end up falling more in love with it, but to be honest this camera just doesn't seem worth the price tag. It doesn't really give me the feeling that I get shooting on any of my film cameras from over the years, and the AF is pretty dismal by current base standards. It's not really that compact enough to make that a winning attribute either. The feel of it evokes more of that of a toy than a sense of nostalgia. I'll give it a few months, and if I don't change my mind I'll sell it (NOT over retail) to someone who really wants it.
that's totally valid to feel that way about the camera! at least you got to try it out to see if you liked it or not. if you ever decide to sell it... let me know! haha maybe i'll be in the market for a used one in the future. thanks for watching!

Great stuff! which square lens hood do you have on it, I really like that one. Does it block your OVF?
i have the squarehood model V, linked in the description! it doesn't block my OVF but does block out a bit of my flash and creates a lil shadow on the bottom of my flash photos
Some nice shots in your gallery. In your video you mentioned quite a few reasons why you wont be buying the X100v, but all them fixes you don't like in the X100V are in the newer model. It's your story though, thanks for sharing.

I feel you on the focal length woes, but despite that I actually have 0 GAS for the X100VI. Maybe the VII will do it when they wise up and switch to a 50mm lens.

I love having the freedom to interchange my lenses to use different focal lengths and that is why I went with the X-Pro3. I don't regret my choice.
the xpro 3 is a great camera! i ended up getting a xt5 last year for the ability to change focal lengths haha
I know you said you wouldn't upgrade but man.. you can probably flip your x100v tomorrow and still break even for the price you paid for it. Just from my perspective, for ~$500, the upgrade for you would be worth it. Especially given how much you've gotten out of the x100v, that $500 of "upgrade" cost is paltry when it is all said and done.
i knoww i'm considering it... i didn't realize the VI would essentially solve my gripes with the V haha that's what i get for shooting and posting this vid before the VI was announced lol
Which tiffen glimmer glass grade did you buy for the front filter?

How would you compare the glimmerglass 1 to the bpm 1/8?
sorry for the late reply! i'd say that the glimmerglass doesn't wash out my image like the bpm 1/4 did. it still gives me that bloomed highlights look without decreasing the contrast dramatically, like the bpm 1/4 does

The new one will have ibis and 40 MP which I guess means it will do a decent job cropping. I feel like this one being more likely available won’t have the hype but will still be a nice camera. Might preorder….
Oh there is hype, about a minute of searching and you will find people shitting themselves trying to get on a preorder list even without firm details or a price. Guess those things will become official by the time I wake up tomorrow. Highly unlikely that I will replace my V.
@@peterleary8738 I probably wouldn’t either if I owned one. If the older models hadn’t gotten so expensive I might have bought one of them.
That 40mp sensor and IBIS in the VI might be creating an itch you said you didn't have as they help address your two grumbles re the V, plus all that extra detail for land / cityscapes.
Looking at the quality of your work you'll survive if it's still a no 🙂
i knoww i made this video before the announcement with all the specs came out and they totally addressed my annoyances with the V haha! but i do already own a xt5 and that already has the 40mp sensor + 10-bit video so i'll save my money this time around and see what the next gen has to offer.
I have the x100F because I literally couldn't get my hands on a V and I STILL don't want to upgrade. I do also have the XT-5 which has the 40mp sensor and its cool and all but between my x100F and the XT-5 I basically have the VI already. Also the 40mp sensor adds a heck of a lot more noise to video, way more than the XH2-S as well.
i also have a xt5 and that's exactly how i feel! 😆 tbh i prefer my x100v's lower resolution because that means smaller file sizes in the end haha
If u want to use camera that can change lens. Why don t u use x-pro series?
I agree with you that there s not worth to change x100V to x100VI
But myself. I already pre-order it.Because I have not X series
at the time i didn’t want to buy more lenses and gear, so i went for their fixed lens camera!

the only downside of the x100vi is the under 200 shots per battery, because of the ibis and the new eye autofocus
you said that you hate not having an IBIS...but you don't go to X100 VI
also a more resolution can give me a good quality for that 2x mode crop internal converter.
so 2 of 3 dislikes can be solved with VI serie
also you can achieve a good price on selling V and put less to take VI
i shot and uploaded this video before the X100VI announcement haha so i didn't know at the time of shooting that it would have what i wanted out of this camera... i'm considering it lol
