I had no idea Joanne Peh (more Englishy) married Qi Yuwu (more Chinesey), and has kid(s). 10+ years ago there were rumours that Qi Yuwu was gay, and in a relationship with Xie Shaoguang (channel 8 veteran who quit long ago).
Why wasn't she in the cast of Crazy Rich Asians lol? She is bilingually fluent, charismatic and attractive. I'm sure she would have been a great addition to the cast. Plus, I cringe every time a "Singaporean" character on the show butchers the Mandarin language. Also, why are most of the "local" roles played by actors/actresses who weren't brought up in South East Asia / East Asia? I'm sure we're not short of talents here in South East/East Asia who can speak and act well... Next movie maybe?
