I'm not the biggest Beatles fan in the world however my mother was. she passed away when I was 9 years old. and she was such a big fan, she grew up in the era of beatlemania she had the lunch boxes and thermoses and all the posters and movies. shows merchandise and all the things of that nature...a lovely and strong woman who'll never be forgotten in so many ways. Life is just short. She died at 45... No one in my entire lineage is a musician except me. My mother Janie my ambition for music and attention at a very early age. And she never forced it upon me just let it happen naturally... Unfortunately I don't share the same amount of love that my mom has for the Beatles. When I was a kid she used to compare me like Paul McCartney... I really didn't like it. However; as the seasoned musician and music teacher myself, this is one of my all time favorites. I have a lot of respect for the Beatles and George Harrison. Partially for my mother but also because I don't know anybody who could switch keys and play chromatic and make it sound as good as they did naturally.
Agree! One of my favorite tunes! When my father traveled with the Beatles to film them, when they got their MBE awards from Queen Elizabeth II, I was allowed to go at age 4...:-) I sat with George on the plane and he taught me how to play a tambourine and a little bit about music...:-) Very nice man. The Queen invited us to dinner, and the Queen allowed George to sit next to me, after the Queen moved me next to her. I later became a lead guitarist and composed music for many many artists in the early 70's and 80's. Oh, Elvis Presley gave me my first guitar at age 5...:-) I'm sure your mother's very proud of you...:-) Keep getting experience here on earth, because you can take it with you after death into Heaven, to share with your loved ones, just as if they were right next to you when you got those experiences. And to share for all eternity... Prayers....
This song is just magic and introspection. I remember to listen it when I was a kid in my dad's car in a cold November night in the country in Madrid and my mind flew, literally flew, without any kind of drugs, no needed, just with the melody.
This is one of my favourite song, as I can relate to it quite a bit. I was touched in very innapropriate places by a boy once, and the line: ''You wre preverted, too..'' sticks with me, and always will. My mother is a huge beatles fan, and loves any song of theirs. Another thing with this song, is that it inspired me to pick up the violin after I had concidered to stop playing, but now I'm in love with the instrument, and I learned this song for that sole reason.
@00:34 I'd like to fix the lyrics, because I don't like that line; I would change it to "I look at the floor, where my dreams lie in pieces, while my guitar gently weeps".
>>>>>Have you ever heard the tribute played by Tom Petty, Prince etc., at the 2004 Induction Ceremony at The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame? (detail added)
I look at you all See the love there that's sleeping While my guitar gently weeps I look at the floor And I see it needs sweeping Still my guitar gently weeps I don't know why nobody told you How to unfold your love I don't know how someone controlled you They bought and sold you I look at the world And I notice, it's turning While my guitar gently weeps With every mistake We must surely be learning Still my guitar gently weeps I don't know how you were diverted You were perverted too I don't know how you were inverted No one alerted you I look from the wings At the play you are staging While my guitar gently weeps 'Cause I'm sitting here Doing nothing but aging Still my guitar gently weeps
@@ittinanintaranan8902that is George Harrison it's just been remastered since technology has changed so much in the last 30 years. I know cuz I have friends in the music industry, 1 played bass for Ted nugent for many years, another is slash and quite a few others that either play an instrument or work for studios.
George said he wrote this as the Beatles were breaking up. Very fitting for a man with a huge heart.
Iirc it wasn't long after Harrison did this song that the tragedy struck the band.

I love this song. I used to ask my Father to play it and sing it to me.
It will always remind me of my Dad.
The greatest band ever, and one of their greatest songs ever.
This song is just magic and introspection. I remember to listen it when I was a kid in my dad's car in a cold November night in the country in Madrid and my mind flew, literally flew, without any kind of drugs, no needed, just with the melody.

Hello again
I agree with Eddie Van Halen. This was the time-period when Eric Clapton was at his height.

not written to offend anyone...from his heart and soul.
Do you ?
I look at you all
See the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor
And I see it needs sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know why nobody told you
How to unfold your love
I don't know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you
I look at the world
And I notice, it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake
We must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know how you were diverted
You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you
I look from the wings
At the play you are staging
While my guitar gently weeps
'Cause I'm sitting here
Doing nothing but aging
Still my guitar gently weeps

That's Eric Clapton playing lead guitar.
This one is fake. Not the Beatles! They tried to copy everything but many people can notice the difference.
So, Clapton did not play lead guitar here.
Also the singer tried to sound like George.

I really wish you'd label covers as covers. Millennials and Zoomers are doing reaction videos to this thinking it's the Beatles.
Don't understand.....are you saying that this is a cover???
but they are the beatles
