@@verypoliticalhonkey2666 I have a feeling that joke isn't going to be digested well by some people. I like that joke. Also, Ever heard of hentai? this happens there a lot too.
Thomas Urech I think the first belief is what they use to justify the second. They don't feel being an artist is a real job so they're fine with asking them for free art cause its not actual work in their eyes. Although cunty, it makes perfect sense why they feel this way.
Katie Bayliss Yeh it make sense when they completely missed the point of what being an artist is about, it's about making art that a normal person won't be able to do without years of practice, I don't know why they accept this for singers but it's a hard concept to grasp when it comes to drawings
the post with the 14 year old with chronic pain really made me upset like how can anyone be so ignorant and full of themselves?? that fox dude was such a hypocrite and a disrespectful being
Dingus Dingbat I mean I’m pretty sure most people would continue walking once it healed, and this dumb ass guy thinks that the girl can just fucking heal a chronic pain, lmfao CHRONIC... as in IT WILL NOT GO AWAY! 😂 I’m so shook he’s so fucking dumb if he thinks insulting someone for something they can’t control and that causes them a lot of pain will get them to give him free shit.
Mettaton Ex yes, even then you won’t just think “I’m never going to walk again” because with breaks even if there can be irreversible pain/damages, you’ll still walk again 99% of the time. However a broken bone is not in anyway similar to her condition.
I can't claim to know what her condition is, but it sounds like she has nerve damage, which in many cases never heals and leaves lasting effects, such as tremors, partial paralysis, and in her case, chronic pain.
"My dad knows the leader of the Yakuza" I... the Yakuza? The japan-specific mafia? The one... In Japan? And not America? Why threaten with the Yakuza of all things? Why not just the actual mafia? What is happening here???
I'm stuck on the fact he thinks there's a single leader of the yakuza. Pretty sure that's a term for the members in general, not the organization itself. Also, they do have a presence outside of Japan, including America (largely in Hawaii), so for all we know he just watched way too much Hawaii 5-0.
@@MsPageMistress oh, thanks! I didn't know they had a presence in America, though perhaps I should have expected that. Always nice to learn something new.
9:48 Rikka is actually a very sweet girl. She has a chronic disability and uses a rollator. I've messaged her a bunch of times and she is so sweet, uplifting and positive! Shes such a doll! c:
Hey, I looked online and she seems to have deactivated her twitter. I would like to commission her as well, but I don’t know where to look. Could you please direct me to anywhere she current is active on social media?
Because they're either A) full of shit; B) don't believe in themselves; C) thinking they're entitled to anything they want because their parents didn't smack the shit out of them as a kid, or D) all of the above.
Emeric Switch I’m like 90% sure they don’t have the money to pay for it, but want to trick the artist into believing they have money so they’ll do it for free. The people in the vid probably ripped an image from Google and tried to trick the artist into believing they would have money as a thank you for doing the work for free, only for that person to then not pay the artist and run off with free work. Something along those lines.
For two stupid, though not mutually exclusive, reasons; one is to trick the artist into doing the work now and take it without paying. Much like giving a check that will bounce when you try to cash it. Luckily people know to ask for a down payment as proof of ability to pay and use invoices. Or they'll just say no unless they're paid in full. And reason number two is in case the artist already says no and they use the "but I do have money" line as a last ditch effort to lure the artist in. As if the whole asking for free art thing was a test to see if the artist was "nice enough" to accept. Like the money is the secret prize or something. But again, my illustrator brothers and sisters don't fall for that crap. I'll tell you what gets me though; how people use their dying relatives, who very likely aren't even sick led alone dying, to try and guilt trip content creators. I hope that the relatives of at least some of these people saw these posts and backhanded those ungrateful little sorry sacks of fools.
Can you do my drawing? I have glass bones and paper skin. Every morning I break my arms and every night I break my legs. I sit awake in bed crying in agony until my heart attacks put me to sleep.
Can I use this for free. I don't have the money to pay you, but this comment is funny and I want other people to think I'm funny, so I want to use this comment without paying. Do it for God! Do the right thing! Do it, Do it!
"I'm a businesses owner too", "My dad owns a company"... Anyone else really dislike brat's who equate their own success to their parents? Your DAD owns a company, he put in the work, the time, and the dedication. You've done nothing except been born. Your fathers success through hard work is not reflected in you simply because he's your parent. (P.S I know that based on the other claims he made, he was probably lying about the business thing too, but he's still equating his fathers hypothetical success to his own, and there *are* people who do that for reals as well...)

7:59 maybe this is my extreme pettiness but I would have stayed and taken the pictures of the wedding. Pictures of the grass, close ups of peoples nostrils, out of focus shots of the back of everyones heads, a few pictures of my own feet for good measure cus I got bored during..outdoor wedding? is there a pooping dog near by? picture. someone mid sneeze? picture. One blurry shot of the bride and groom from far enough away that you can't identify the people in the picture..I would've taken aaaaaall the pictures for them
I hate it when people use they’re family/partner or sick to get something for free, not only your using manipulation and guilt convince to the artist. You’re also exploiting your family member and or whoever’s death. It makes more of an asshole than the artist.
You wouldn’t walk into a restaurant and be like “Hey I’m a big fan of your burgers, I saw the one you gave to that other guy and I was wondering if I could get one for free? :) be the kind person.” Like lmaooo
Moon River although I agree, there was a video I sall about r/forexposure where a guy offered a restaurant free exposure(for his birthday party) from his Instagram followers for free food.
it's not hard to believe when you're an artist or graphic designer or illustrator or anything in the "creative" fields, tbh... I have encountered it many times... And yes, god, it's still painful to watch though!
I love how genuinely angry he got at the guy harassing that poor girl about her chronic pain. He was so quick to defend her and roast the shit out of that guy. Sorrow is the ally we all need
Albert Nave Yeah, _almost like they never intended to pay._ Every time they say "I was actually going to pay you, but since you wouldn't do it for free, you don't deserve commissions!", my inner eye always sees a "Nice guy"/"Nice girl" back paddling going "Hah! Jokes on you! I already have plans, too! I was testing you, I never date you, hahaha lmao!" Pathetic.
After scrolling through the for exposure twitter page i finally found the artist and their art is hella cute, she goes by rikis_e on twitter and rikise on deviant art. (Also if anyone was curious the dude who wanted free art complained to the twitter page and harassed the artist, late at night might i add, again saying im not a bad person and its your fault.)
8:53 Client: ha i tricked you - take photos for free! Photographer: "ha ha sure!" *takes the blurriest garbage photos cutting out faces from the edge ect. And then take as long as humanly possible to send those pictures* Granted, thatd be a waste of time but... If i had nothing better to do that day.....
Or- now hear me out, you take garbage photos of the blurriest closeups on ugly faces of random people, like not even people in the service- then say "Yeah service is free... But the photos aren't." Charge them out the ass for the "processing fee", and send them literal dog shit.... Like crusty white dried out dog shit... then when they complain say. "Haha. Oops, tricked you"
I feel for that 14 year old girl. I was diagnosed with arthritis when I was 6. Since I have it and I'm not elderly, people treat me like it's my fault all the time. Like I must have done something to bring it upon myself because I'm not old.
BlueDiamond So blaming all religion for something is pretty stupid, considering there are plenty of religions that don’t fit your preconceived notions.
"My dad knows the leader of the yakuza" Which- Which one? Which one, buddy? That's like saying "I know the leader of the mafia". *There are multiple yakuza gangs.*
"Don't be selfish; I only want YOU to do free art for ME. I don't care if you have a chronic illness or expect MONEY for your work; I want stuff from you for free! It's all about ME! ME ME ME! DON'T BE SELFISH! IT'S ABOUT ME, NOT YOU!"
I have a chronic illness too and I'm cringing so hard at this dude. Disabilities shouldn't prevent you from achieving your dreams as long as your life is not in danger and espcially if it's also one of the only ways for you to make money. I sew plushies and clothes I'm planning on selling and it's expremely painful but it's more than common sense to understand people would never do it for free REGARDLESS.
I have fabry disease. I got a pace maker put in last year {age 33). I have severe neuropathic pain and hands and feet. I have had a motorbike accident in 2012. Mainly left leg (ankle and knee) but right leg and lower back were injured too. I never gave up, just keep working where I can and continue life.
@〝ѦƁↁεя〞 thanks mate. I will add, I spent 2 years after the diagnosis hating my life and myself. I was fired from a job because I needed a kidney biopsy. Claimed production was slowing. I sued them. I drank like a fish and (ill add I was sober at the time of the motorbike accident) I would drink and down pain killers. To the point of forgetting days, weeks and even months. I turned my life around, got back into work and met my "way" better half. Now we work hard, buy properties and rent them out. Life wasn't that easy, but I make the most of my abilities and limitations. I can't drive a manual vehicle or a motorbike again, but I can warn money. I earn all I can, when I can. My life is very limited, so earning when I can now will set my wife up, and when we have kids, they will have a great life. I am giving up on my extended life for my future familie's life
@@skimaskalx You make me feel like an asshole for being lazy and wanting to just sit on a pc all day without having to work >_< I wish we could swap bodies for some days here and there. Not to imply that YOU "just sit on a pc-etc..", that's just what I would do in that situation. Actually that's just what I would do if I didn't need money lol.
Artists are honestly so underrated. The give us literally ALL of our entertainment. Movies, books, comics, tv shows, photographs, even HOUSES. Someone has to do all if that work, and the majority of jobs require skill in art, and there is no POSSIBLE way that so many people can just work for free. They dont deserve all this harsh treatment because they are so talented and try so hard to be kind but there are just some people that dont appreciate the value of hard work or time or talent.
Jake+ I guess many people dont appreciate it, because you can see it literally everywhere, so they think it is a common thing they should always and under any circumstances have free access too.
i agree that people with stable jobs in the industry dont get aproached with as much bs, because they work alongside people who knows what it takes to be where they are. but i dont think its smart to generalize all independent artists as "entitled" and "unskilled". if their bio on twitter or whatever platforn theyre on clearly states that they take paid commissions, i would damn well hope that people who dm them are expecting to pay for what theyre asking. has nothing to do with entitlement.
mate theyre not saying that noone can live without them, theyre just saying that they dont work for free, and i see nothing wrong with that. theyre not saying "pay us! we bring you entertainment" theyre saying "i would like to draw what i want to draw, unless you pay me to do otherwise" which is usually the dynamic of any transaction in any craft.
and i never said that lumping all artists together was a good idea, i said exactly the opposite. i commented on the statement "untrained commission artists" as if all commission artists are untrained. i may have misunderstood, and if that is the case i apologize. no need for the condescending "ive seen this as a tweet once, and its not very thought out". im trying to have a regular discussion here, i dont care if im right or wrong, im trying to find the truth and learn something new which is what the goal of any debate should be in my opinion.
Marcus Aurelius oh man do people who say "oh my god you're so lucky you're good at art" piss me off Uhmm as if i was just gifted it by god? i wasn't drawing like this from the age of 4. it took years of practice and lots of my work going in the bin.....
The only time I did free art was when I drew my Best Friend. She is just so sweet and bought me alot of my art supplies, encouraged me to draw through my depression and has been with me through alot. Sure, it sounds 'so cheesy' but she's just an overall bean.
Well considering she did buy some supplies for you it’s kinda like she paid for it already lol, but that’s really sweet and nice of her, it’s great that people will do things out of niceness from the bottom of their heart
Because of the lack of compassion in the world, we've abandoned "cheesy," for its negative connotations, and have replaced it with "wholesome" for a positive spin on feel good stories. This is wholesome. I feel good.
"Could I have a free drawing?" "No" "Could I have a free drawing?" "No" "Could I have a free drawing?" "No" "Can't you say anything but 'No'?" "Try asking again" "Can I have a free drawing?" "Nooo"
"My dad knows the leader of the Yakuza" When she said that I literally (and I mean LITERALLY) started laughing so hard my sister got worried. It SENT ME! I just couldn't-- Can you IMAGINE?? This artist is sitting at her desk, drawing, when all of a sudden the Yakuza burst in the door, and put a gun to her head like "Gomen! The daughter of our big boss' friend said that you wouldn't teach her graphic design, so it's lights out for you!" I was laughing for like 10 minutes straight.
This has gotten to be such a thing that it's been refferenced in the Hitman series. No joke, one of the targets (when you disguise as a painter to get close to them) outright says, as you're doing the painting, he plans to pay you in 'exposure'.
Legit I have to deal with this involving my glass art. I do glassblowing as a hobby of mine. Recently, my coworkers realized I can do glassblowing, like my work, and started asking me for stuff. It's never something easy like an ornament or a bowl, it's always "I want a pumpkin with x, y, and z colors" or "I want a vase with certain colors" or "I want a box with a lid" or "I want a jellyfish" or "I want a wine glass". I ended up deciding on a rule: I will make one thing for free, but the next thing you want will cost you about $20-30, which is cheap for what I was making. They asked for more stuff, I told them the rule, and they straight up said "no I'm not paying you", and would make me feel awful when I didn't make them anything. I legit made about 3-4 pieces in total that were never paid for, and those people still pretend like I'm the asshole to a degree. One even said they'd pay me, they never did. HOWEVER, there is one coworker that has always paid regardless of their financial status, and they've been friends with me for 13 years. I make her a glow in the dark pumpkin? She pays me. I make her a small little pumpkin she can put on a windowsill? She pays me. I make her an ugly ornament that she personally requested to be ugly? She pays me.
3:45 love how she is more focused on getting a picture drawn for her, than I don’t know...helping her own dying mother, and she’s supposed to be “the nice one” lmao XD
" Like, bruh, I messaged you at 1 in the morning and expected you to still give me free art after threatening your career and basically attempting to blackmail you. But I followed you on Instagram and told you about when my dog stepped on Lego! How DARE you say NO to ME >:(((( !!1!!!!1!!1!1! "
As a graphic artist, all too real. A coworker approached me and asked for a t-shirt design. When all I asked for payment was a t-shirt, he demanded to know why. Worst part, I knew he was getting the shirts for FREE because his friend owned the print shop, so there was literally no skin off his nose to give me a damn shirt I designed.
I like free stuff and coupons, but people also have bills to pay, nothing in life is free if there's a market and a controllable limit, and also, bills and food, water and fucking TAXES, let alone the fact that art is hard, takes for fucking EVER (or at least the good art), AND we need the resources to fucking MAKE it.
Chance Witt that was so nice of you. *starts clapping* *suddenly everyone in the room starts clapping* *then the mayor flies in and makes you the mayor* *the mayor's name? Albert Einstein.*
I like how all these people believe in 'talent' like people just come out of the womb able to create masterpieces. A $60 commission isn't just a commission for the few hours of work, it's for the years to decades of practice that very few people are willing to put in.
You gotta understand the camel, after he lost his job as a mascot, his reputation was pretty shit, and his smoking addiction plus joblessness have left him pretty broke. How do you expect him do pay fifty cents for twelve hours of somebody else's work?
"Wow, you're a really good artist! I can't even draw a straight line!" "Haha, thanks a lot. I-" "Can you draw me??? Like, for free? Right now?!" ..................................................................................
Okay, the story with the 14 year old actually kind of genuinely pissed me off, tbh? :/ Like dude, I'm not a doctor, but chances are that if she's in chronic pain from drawing, then she's in chronic pain from at least half of the things she does in her life. Even the basics! So for you to come out of nowhere to demand free art from not only a kid, but someone who keeps their spirits up through a creative medium, despite their disability, is fucking scummy as all hell! )XD Props to the 14 year old though. I wanna pay her for art just for how she handled that.
The only arguments I see and why they suck 1) "I'm a huge fan!" - It's nice that you like a person's work but that doesn't change anything. Time = money and they can't just give out hours of free work because you like their work. 2) "Your prices are too expensive!" -People often forget that art takes (usually) a good chunk of time/supplies. If it's too expensive don't buy it. 3) "I don't have any money/*insert bad thing has happened to me*" -Man that sucks but it has no correlation at all. I'm very sure your dead dog isn't controlling you through the grave saying the only way to be happy is to have someone draw you/your oc. Do you go into McDonald's saying "Yo my mom is dead, so can I get a Big Mac for free?"
The wedding photographer story genuinly pissed me off. The one about the "Gaming for Jesus" pissed me off a lot more though. As a Christian musician, it seems as if people see "Christian", "Jesus" or "God", and automatically feel entitled to free services. How about no? You can't just demand free art or music just because a person is a Christian artist or musician, especially if the person isn't religious, but makes artistic contribution to a Church. Using the "it's for God" line is a guilt trip tactic and is more than enough grounds for anyone to stop taking you seriously. People still use their own time and resources to fulfill the requested services or art, so asking for compensation is completely justifiable.
It's weird that we have to say this nowadays (considering with social media all these assholes have a louder voice) , but a big thank-you for being reasonable.
Also, pretty sure a Twitch stream for a bunch of Christians to hang out does not directly serve God in any way. Just like how forming a group chat to discuss Harry Potter in no way directly helps J.K. Rowling pay her bills.
As a person with a painful chronic illness which has slowed me achieving my dream............I get angry when I see people demanding things of people who have similar conditions that I do. That's LUDICROUS. People who do not have it have NO IDEA. No idea. Let the 14 year old have her dream and stop making it hard on her. Geeze.
Time = Money is something NOBODY gets. I fix electronics under a microscope using teeny tiny itty bitty soldering irons. It's not exactly easy, it's a skill that takes a lot of time to master. It's more of an art than an exact science. You get a feel for your tools and equipment. Time and time again, people call me asking: "how much do you charge to fix a charge port on a [insert random cheap shit tablet here]?" "$75" "$75!!?!?? It's only 5 minutes of work!" "Well...uh, it's not really 5 minutes of work. I mean, in some cases it is, but certainly not all of them." "Well I saw a video on youtube and they did it in 5 minutes." "Yeah...they probably recorded a dozen repairs and picked the one that was the fastest." "Yeah well, it didn't look that difficult. If I had one of those soldering thingies I'd do it myself." "You are more than welcome to come by and use my equipment. If you can do it yourself I won't charge you a dime." "Ohhh....well, I mean, I might uh, I might mess it up." "Okay. You know how much it is for me to do it, so I'll leave that up to you." For what it's worth, a typical charge port repair can range anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour. It depends on how stupid the owner of the device is. If they were the type of person to keep jamming a charging cable in when it was obviously not working, they probably took every pad off the board in their frantic desire to get their device to charge again. That makes my job hundreds of times more difficult. The most recent situation that comes to mind, I even photographed the entire procedure. I had to run 3 wires that were thinner than strands of human hair to bypass the damaged pads that this idiot knocked off the board. He didn't think anything of it... I never really thought that artists had similar things to deal with. I guess these dickholes exist in every industry.
Jesus, that must fucking suck dude. Hope you are able to deal with these fuckers ok, I would probaly just get extremely angry and tell them to fuck off if that happened to me lol.
spartan456 its the same with computer programming. They'll ask something like can you mod this model to make it move and do blah blah blah with it. Or can you make these objects act on their own/ can you mod an auto for this model? And I'll say it'll take hours depending on it and they're like "I saw a tutorial on RUclips where the guy did it in 15 minutes." *well then do it yourself?*
As someone who works at a general purpose electronics repair store, I get stupid shit like this constantly. My all time favorite is when someone calls me a crook because I told them it'd cost $350 to fix the cracked screen on their Galaxy S8 Plus. The way a lot of modern screens are assembled is through a process that bonds the glass (what most people break) to the display underneath using an optically clear adhesive. The parts for Samsung phones are ludicrously expensive, only because of very limited supply if you want to get legit parts. Aftermarkets and refurbished ones exist, but only at a slightly cheaper price. Samsung does sell legitimate OEM parts (unlike every other phone manufacturer) but the supply is so limited because they only sell to those who are authorized through them. It's not worth it using a worse quality part to save $20 when you can get the real thing for $20 more. People hear my price to fix their S8 Plus, and yell and scream "Well I found the glass on eBay for $7! Why is it so expensive!?" So...it's definitely possible to perform these repairs by removing the glass and putting new glass on. However that is a process that requires about $10k-$30k worth of machinery if you want to have a consistent and professional result that brings it to OEM quality. Plus, there is a constant risk of breaking the display in the process, which means all that work you put into separating the glass and cleaning the bare display were totally pointless because after cleaning it, you used too much pressure and damaged the display beyond usability. Some people listen to me when I explain this to them, others don't want to listen at all and proclaim "But it's just the glass that's broken! It's $7 on eBay! Why won't you fix it?" After I just explained to them in detail why it's something I don't do. After reiterating some key points, they ALWAYS say "Well I saw a RUclips video and a guy did it in about 20 minutes using playing cards! It didn't look THAT hard..." and I always fire back with "If you can do that repair with playing cards and a hair dryer, and it looks as good as OEM, you can come have my job." They always hang up after that lol.
There's a whole tumblr about it called clients from hell featuring stories from people in all sorts of industries though usually creative I think. Still something I'm sure you would appreciate.
3:45-4:40 1. Attempts to use the “dying parent” excuse. 2. Attempts to force them to do it with the influence of money, despite the fact that they are not going to pay them if they do it. 3. Hopes that they starve/suffer if they don’t bow down for their every need. 4. Threatens to ruin career with their many “followers”. Total jerk.
BLU3 Official it was Facebook and RUclips followers too. Yeah I'm sure you're 60 year old aunt who thinks statuses are private messages and a bunch of 9 year olds are gonna ruin her career.
Can we talk about how their were NO PRIOR MESSAGES from the "you will draw my avi" imagine waking up checking your dms and seeing "you will draw my avi its my birthday" randomly
The next time someone asks me to draw something for free im gonna draw the thing but its gonna be done with a mouse, in ms paint, and also timed to be done in 15 seconds.
"if you broke your hip would you keep walking?" me, an 18 year old who broke her femoral neck four months ago: yes its called physical therapy lol the analogy doesnt make sense because its implying that CHRONIC PAIN is something temporary
Lmao, that shit's hilarious. They can end someone's career but somehow can't draw a picture themselves or get enough money to pay someone to do it. Seems legit👌👌
The Gaming Lion As well I don't understand how this 35 old man thinks someone will do free stuff for him, if he is talking down to that person in such a disgusting manner.
Exactly. I remember commissioning young teen artists who ask for only about a dollar as pay and I just pay them extra. It is so fulfilling to know that what you do is worth something.
I have fibromyalgia and thanks so much for understanding chronic pain and disability. It means a lot when somebody with a following says that loud and clear. Thanks.
This reminds me of people who get butthurt when people run ads on their youtube video's or when they have a patreon. They jist want you to bend over and produce free content with your own time and work.
Tiffany Mark But what if the ad is about a thing I do not care about? That’s why I want the option to skip; because the things advertised are of no use or interest to me. Personalize the advertisement to my tastes and I will feel more inclined to watch.
Sometimes fine with me, but sometimes it's annoying. There are some youtubers that just make content that try to fill up the video with no substance. They just try to stretch to the 10 minute mark. Then they try to back it up by saying that youtube is their job, and they need to do this for a living. While on the other hand, there are people who actually have a job and can handle having a youtube channel on the side. The moral of the story is that I should probably just get ad block.
But consider: Just artist things: When you're opening up comissions but then you realize no one cares about even your lower-than-fair priced comissions
Hey, if something isn't worth stealing, it's not worth anything at all. Yeah I'd be hella mad about the theft but I'd also be pretty proud if people thought my art was good enough to steal
All this time, I didn't realize... I can give anyone all the exposure they want by having them work to me for free... I'm the richest person alive! Bow down and serve my every need, peasants! I will make your lives complete!
11:28 - I’ve broken my hip 3 times now and kept walking on it each time. Th first time they had to insert metal before I could walk on it, but 8 was walking again within 24 hours of the accident. The next 2 times were following my 5th hip surgery and I was already lined with metal at that point so I just shrugged and kept going. I’ve also walked on a broken foot for 2 weeks before seeing a doctor. Speaking as someone with extreme chronic pain (full body CRPS/RSD), *everything* hurts, including simply laying down and watching RUclips. If I did nothing that hurt, I’d have to literally kill myself to escape the pain. That guy can kiss my scarred, crippled ass.
not only do people expect you to work for free because they don't consider artwork to be proper work, but when they do they think only in terms of work-hours. you pay not only for my time and effort but for a lifetime spent constantly practising and studying the craft so that i can deliver decent work at a relatively short amount of time.

Also people: whY wOn't YoU wOrK foR fReE?
Thomas Urech THANK YOU
Thomas Urech I think the first belief is what they use to justify the second.
Their jeulos they get none of the precous mony

“If you broke your hip would you keep walking?” That’s called physical therapy lmfao
my mom has like problems with her spine and knees and she still walks, physical therapy yo
I think they meant immediately after.
"My dad knows the leader of the Yakuza"
I... the Yakuza? The japan-specific mafia? The one... In Japan? And not America? Why threaten with the Yakuza of all things? Why not just the actual mafia? What is happening here???

"I can draw your art myself."

Because they're either A) full of shit; B) don't believe in themselves; C) thinking they're entitled to anything they want because their parents didn't smack the shit out of them as a kid, or D) all of the above.
E) They actually can't and just say that to try to get free art (and fail)
Because that would require work and... work is _hard_

Emeric Switch
I’m like 90% sure they don’t have the money to pay for it, but want to trick the artist into believing they have money so they’ll do it for free.

"I'm a businesses owner too", "My dad owns a company"... Anyone else really dislike brat's who equate their own success to their parents? Your fathers success through hard work is not reflected in you simply because he's your parent.
(P.S I know that based on the other claims he made, he was probably lying about the business thing too, but he's still equating his fathers hypothetical success to his own, and there *are* people who do that for reals as well...)

Jake McLaughlin You are a beautiful person

Dang your friends really like little pumpkins
3:45 love how she is more focused on getting a picture drawn for her, than I don’t know...helping her own dying mother, and she’s supposed to be “the nice one” lmao XD

probably the way to sum all this up is
"if you wanna get art without paying then draw it yourself"
If he knew the leader of the Yakuza, he should know there is not just one Yakuza, but different groups with different leaders.

I like how all these people believe in 'talent' like people just come out of the womb able to create masterpieces. A $60 commission isn't just a commission for the few hours of work, it's for the years to decades of practice that very few people are willing to put in.

Rin Kagamine yeah any info on her? I’d love to commission and or donate
a camel falling off a nope train is gonna be my new most overused phrase
The only arguments I see and why they suck
1) "I'm a huge fan!"
- It's nice that you like a person's work but that doesn't change anything. Time = money and they can't just give out hours of free work because you like their work.
2) "Your prices are too expensive!"
-People often forget that art takes (usually) a good chunk of time/supplies. If it's too expensive don't buy it.
3) "I don't have any money/*insert bad thing has happened to me*"
-Man that sucks but it has no correlation at all.
Even the Church paid Michelangelo to paint the ceiling of the Sistine chapel.
Also, pretty sure a Twitch stream for a bunch of Christians to hang out does not directly serve God in any way.
Just like how forming a group chat to discuss Harry Potter in no way directly helps J.K. Rowling pay her bills.
Exactly!!

Time and time again, people call me asking:
"how much do you charge to fix a charge port on a [insert random cheap shit tablet here]?"
"$75"
"$75!!?!?? It's only 5 minutes of work!"
"Well...uh, it's not really 5 minutes of work. I mean, in some cases it is, but certainly not all of them."
"Well I saw a video on youtube and they did it in 5 minutes."
"Yeah...they probably recorded a dozen repairs and picked the one that was the fastest."
"Yeah well, it didn't look that difficult. If I had one of those soldering thingies I'd do it myself."
"You are more than welcome to come by and use my equipment. If you can do it yourself I won't charge you a dime."
"Ohhh....well, I mean, I might uh, I might mess it up."
"Okay. You know how much it is for me to do it, so I'll leave that up to you."
For what it's worth, a typical charge port repair can range anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour.
And I'll say it'll take hours depending on it and they're like "I saw a tutorial on RUclips where the guy did it in 15 minutes."
*well then do it yourself?*
Can you hack into the SCP Foundation's network for $20?

This reminds me of people who get butthurt when people run ads on their youtube video's or when they have a patreon. They jist want you to bend over and produce free content with your own time and work.
I understand why RUclips ads exist. All I want is the ability to skip them after 5 seconds... which is something not all ads do, which irritates me.
GoodMachines
Well they get almost no money with skippable
That's quite the dilemma then; people on RUclips need to make money, yet RUclips ads are annoying and intrusive.
