    Amazing stuff! I was reading the HA community posts earlier as i have just gotten one of these and naturally wanted to integrate it into HA! This is an excellent guide and following it i have successfully integrated the device :)
    The one thing i will say is i had trouble with formatting when i just copied and pasted the contents for the sensor.yaml file, not sure why but i had to do a little fiddling to make this work. And as this is using the local IP address to issue the commands which will no doubt be DHCP for most people, it might be worth mentioning that they may wish to add a DHCP reservation to their router otherwise the IP address might change and break the integration.

      Hmm strange issue with the copying. Maybe has to do with how I've split up my config...
      Good point about DHCP reservation - I really should have mentioned that!

    Is there a way to show dynamic information with Pixoo blueprint? F.e. could I use the blueprint to show room temperature based on sensor information?

    • @makeitworktech
      @makeitworktech  Год назад +1

      You could run the automation whenever the temperature changed, and use the the temperature state for text? You wouldn't be able to with that blueprint though since it's not set up for templating

    I keep putting off building a pixel art display panel, but it looks like I may have to get one of these pre-built ones now. Thanks for making it easy to get going with HA integration.

      No problem! It was fun trying to figure out their API. I still recommend the WLED ones that I've built, but these do have some cool features like the ability to send animated GIFs, etc.

    the divoom timebox evo actually does more from the same app ... the cloud streaming mode is badly needed for the pixoo 64. How can I have it move between a variety of apps and/or backgrounds automatically?

    Hi, great video! It makes me think, do you know if there’s a diy alternative to Divoom that basically does the same thing but via an ESP32 or R Pi? Something like Awtrix but for 32x 32 displays bigger than 8 x 32?

    • @makeitworktech

      Not that I know of! But that would be cool. Is awtrix only limited to 8x32?

    Great video! Helped me a lot to build dashboard controls and automations for the device, so I don't have to use their confusing app. Has anyone found a way to switch between different clock faces via an API rest call?

    I get that not everything is to your taste, but to receive something for free, using terms like "garbage" as a criticism isn't constructive. Saying something is a "waste of time" doesn't help the developers improve and makes you completely unlikeable. You're here to earn the free item you got. Remember that.

    • @makeitworktech

    "In exchange for an honest review" = paid promotion - and should be flagged as such. Why risk losing your channel over something so easily avoided?

    • @makeitworktech
      @makeitworktech  Год назад +5

      Paid promotions under RUclips rules are specifically those in which you are PAID to promote a product via product placement or endorsement, typically meaning they have influence over what you say about their product. (Not a risk to the channel.)
      I understand the concern, and yes, there will always be a bit of bias when you didn't have to pay for a product yourself, but "paid promotion" indicates that I was paid to tell the audience to buy one. This was a review (and adding to the body of knowledge about HA integration) - a review just goes over the features, and I felt I did it honestly. You have to understand that it is not feasible to buy every single product that I want to test out, and at the same time I can't have pressure from the product supplier regrading the content. The little product exposure they gain also puts them at risk since there is no contract and I don't have to "endorse" the product in any way.
      Here is an example of one of the most popular tech channels on the platform receiving free products and "reviewing" them: ruclips.net/video/mv9afG2Dm9I/видео.html
