The switch you replaced still had power through it and that's why you're still seeing the display. I bought the switch you installed and planned on putting it on the battery box to kill all power to the trailer. The display should also then shut off.
That is true. What matters is which “side” the switch is connected to battery. The meter is connected to the “output” side of the switch so when off the meter is no longer connected to the battery.
