How we fixed our pealing HappiJac benches once & for all!
Просмотров 5619 часов назад
Most RV manufacturers use furniture covered in a cheap faux leather. You can cover the furniture or replace it like in the case of the sofa ( couch ) in your living room, we replaced ours. But that is just not practical with the benches for the Happi Jac bed lift system in the garage of a toy hauler. We contacted LCI to get replacement covers but they no longer sell those for the version of Hap...

Saw you got a replacement spring with the kit. That’s what I wanted to see you install! It is all but impossible to install. As it turned out when the spring exploded off the fitting when pulling up on the foot pedal, it damaged the plastic tab that would hold the spring in place with tension. Only option was to purchase a new base
Although it’s more expensive, replacing the base is a good option. It’s basically a new (90%) toilet. I’ve done ( with video) that too.
Hi, can you help please? Went to fill tanks and the blue knob has no resistance like it did..stuck in city fill and the city water inlet won't allow tank to fill. How do I fix it please?? What went bad? I pulled screen out, it looks fine. Haven't called in to look at back side yet. And it is a nautilus p4.
@@christelena1783 chances are the valve needs to be replaced. There is a “O” ring inside that does the sealing. It can fail. You have to be careful about switching the valve under pressure, that can damage the “O” ring inside the valve.
@TheWanderingSteeles ok thank you! Replacing O ring inside city inlet valve should correct the blue knob?
No, the “O” ring is inside the valve and can’t be replaced
@christelena1783 The “blue” valve will probably need to be replaced
@TheWanderingSteeles oh ok. Thank you. Climbing inside to remove boards so I can see the back side.
I think you failed to mention the fact that the number of times you can move your current playback area is limited to away and back over the course of a year. I think that's pretty important. Don't you?
I didn’t mention that because I’m not aware of that limitation. We travel from Sacramento, Ca to Bakersfield, Ca to Ft, Mohve, Az then back to Bakersfield to Sacramento without issue. We then travel from Sacramento to Corning to Crescent, Or back to Corning to Sacramento also without issue. Over the course of a single year. We done this at least three times the last 3 years. Where did you hear of that limitation?
The only limit I’m aware of is changing home area.
Thanks for the video. I followed your steps and replaced mine today
Glad it helped.

I’m going to have to try that support leg thing!
I'm new to the fifth wheel world and this video just helped me so much!! Thank you!!
@@wesleywalko7826 Glad it helped.
job is not hard, what is hard ?, is finding an outlet that sits flush to the wall with some usb outlets in it !. most rv walls are not deep enough. i don't want my outlet sticking far off the wall. i have usb on one side of my bed in the wall, but the factory wasn't smart enough to put another usb outlet on the other side !..lol. the hunt to locate a slim usb outlet is my mission !.
That’s what I wanted as well but they don’t exist. The main reason is the size of the power supply that converts 120 vac to 5 volts dc. The other option is a dedicated USB port but that uses 12 volts and I don’t have that easily available on both sides so this was my compromise. DW wanted both sides of the bed to be the same. 😋 Good to you and thanks for your feedback.
Wow. Good explanation on how to use it. Thank you!
Thanks
Very helpful, and to the point.
Another one? Sheesh. Go watch our 18 month ordeal! 😢
I’m sorry about your problems. I hope things have been resolved. I believe more information on this that’s available the better.

What kinds of products?
Great video, unfortunately my Lippert exit window uses a different bottom flange, which has no place for the crank wheels to insert into. But great idea.
Thanks for the feedback. Sorry it didn’t help you.
or.,.,... you can do something like this. (6-Outlet Smart Surge Protector with 4 USB Ports, White, Powered by Hubspace , at Home Depot)
Yes you can. I’m not a fan of adapters. All those types of adapters I’ve seen want you to attach them to the outlet with a center screw. 6 way adapters just increase the risk of overloading the outlet. If you prefer that approach more power to you.
Sweet
Is there any way I can send you a private comment/compliment? Not thinking it’s right to put on this video
You can use the channel’s email address
How’d you wire the fuel pump and shutoff solenoid?
I installed a switch in the cab and wired them in parallel through the switch to a connector under my dash that only has power when the ignition is on. I routed the wires under the truck along the frame to the cab.
It’s great and waterproof too! My dad’s a plumber and he’s been using it to waterproof stuff for years.
you look like a gay Terry Crews
What caused this to happen? Just purchased my 1st 5th wheel and I'm very nervous.
It’s a manufacturing problem. It’s a small percentage of frames and LCI has redesigned the frames to reduce the occurrence of these problems. If your trailer is a new model you are probably fine.
What year is it, the one in the video is a 2021
I had no idea this kind of thing was happening.
Amazing video! Thanks.
Thanks
Thank you sir 🫡
My pleasure
Enjoyed your video. My problem is when I'm hooked into shore power and boondocking. The 1st problem i had was I had to leave my boondocking spot because my generator was complete dead. Also, about 3am a couple of nights I had to turn the engine on in my motorhome in order to get the furnace to kick on. Now, I'm using 30amp shorepower and the breaker box keeps tripping, even with 1 plug being used and is tripping the furnance.. The only reason I have some power is I have a bluetti, but half the day I have to keep resetting the breaker and shuts off anywhere from 30secs to 5min. After watching your.video, it sounds like I may have a bad inverter. Also, like I mentioned earlier is the genny went dead and when I hold the button to start it, you can see the lights dim. Usually the gen would start when I turn on the engine, but not now.
My first question did you really mean “inverter”? A inverter converts 12 volt battery power into 120 AC power. If you mean “converter” that is a good candidate. The converter uses 120v shore power or generator to charge your batteries. The converter can, when bad, draw enough current to trip your 30 amp breaker. Your furnace uses 12 ( battery) to run the fan and control board. So if the converter is not charging the battery then 12 devices will not be able to operate correctly. Good luck.
Really should use the proper Rock salt
Not according to the people that make the On-The-Go portable softener. For full size household softeners yes but not the On-The-Go portable.
@TheWanderingSteeles according to them you should use 4in1 clean and protect or pure and natural or 5in1 clean and protect. All of wich are either crystal or pellet. This is only the Morton salt. Other brands are available
I don’t know where you’re getting your information but the instructions on the On-The-Go website specifically says to use table salt. 26 ox boxes of either iodized or non-iodized. I just double checked to confirm. There are no instructions, I can find, referring to rock salt. Being able to use table salt is actually one of their selling points.
@@TheWanderingSteeles my information came from on the go portable softener
From the instructions on the On The Go website. : Step 5: Add the correct amount of table salt into the top for your softener. - One full 26 oz. box of iodized/non-iodized salt for the Standard model. - Two full 26 oz. boxes of iodized/non-iodized salt for the Double Standard Model. - Four full 26 oz. boxes of iodized/non-iodized salt for the Park Model Softener.
Thank you very much.
My pleasure.
I've never heard of this screen. Can you see out?
Yes, can see out just fine. Ot works just like the reflective film in some RV windows. During the day you can see out and at night, if there are lights on, you can see in.
If I tightend bleed screw cause of leak what should I do to go about adding coolant do I need to have it up in ramps or will that cylinder not have fluid
It may be ok. I noticed because of how high I was able to get the radiator that I didn’t get much fluid from the bleed screws. If it doesn’t overheat I would not worry about it.
@@TheWanderingSteeles okay just wondering as I noticed small amount of coolant along bleed screw as it was fairly loose, snugged it it maybe lost 100ml of fluid if that but didn’t know if I was good to go just topping it up or if you had to refil the bleeding system as I accidentally bled the screw
Thanks, very helpful!
My pleasure
Thank you for your help!!
Glad it was helpful
Im gonna guess and say you smoke, Marlbaro reds
You would be wrong. I don’t smoke but I did have throat cancer and the radiation damaged my vocal cords.
Or you could park the ramp at the low end of small hill or curb with a side walk bottom of a gutter somthing .
I’m sure that works but since that’s not always an option my extended ramp is always available.
That was an awesome demo Thank you
Great video, lots of very useful information, thanks
The switch you replaced still had power through it and that's why you're still seeing the display. I bought the switch you installed and planned on putting it on the battery box to kill all power to the trailer. The display should also then shut off.
That is true. What matters is which “side” the switch is connected to battery. The meter is connected to the “output” side of the switch so when off the meter is no longer connected to the battery.
professional installation optional with voice box instructions
Mine were definitely professionally installed at the factory
Thanks!

Holy cow ?
My thoughts, exactly.
Finally a straight forward video on how to hook this up. Thank you sir!!!
Schwintech is garbage so quit putting them in slides or do hat is needed to make them more dependable. If this was in a car there would be a total recall and they would be forced to fix.
There are better systems out there but Schwintech is OK as long as you do your maintenance. Mine has done well, 7 years full time.
Thank you for your instruction on how to operate these older HappyJax.
