I lived in Germany when this song came out in 1975. I would listen to it on Radio Luxembourg. One of my favourite songs from that time period. It still sounds great today. Des Dyer the singer sounds as good live as he does on the record.
We called the stack-heels 'rockstars' at the time and Jigsaw was from Oshawa, Ontario. 'Sky High' ruled the airwaves in Canada when it was originally released. Nice touch adding Lido Shuffle to the show in 1980, by that time the band had a greater appeal in Europe. Good for them.
Those were the days in the early 70s,many a good night in the Walsgrave and surrounding pubs in Coventry.Maknly a cover band band then with a bit of comedy rolled in.Always finished up the night with "Fire' by Arthur Brown.Sirens,explosion and setting fire to the organ,memories
I've always loved "Sky High". Drummers who sing lead have my respect. Both drumming and singing require concentration, stamina and breath control. It's not easy feat to do both at once. Great live performance by the entire band :-)
That drummer was the whole band, especially how great he is as a singer while also playing tricky drumming parts. Why did those other guys in the band even have microphones?

Not the Drummer but one of this band used to have a band called the steve simonz band they used to play at a Pub in Blackpool called the Manchester in the 1980s Were any of these Steve .
So strange the drummer is the entire band, don't even think the others are plugged in much less backup vocals. All studeo musicians on the radio version of the drummer also sang Those were different days for sure!
Why cover a Boz song? Did they only have one hit of their own?And what happened to the orchestra? Do they play and the band play on alternate weekends?
