  • Fall Walleye Fishing and Fish Fry
Today we are fishing for fall walleyes in northern Wisconsin. In this video I talk about some jig fishing tips and tricks I use to be more productive when jigging deep water. I talk about boat positioning lure preferences. Fall walleye fishing can be some of the best of the year as fish generally group up in similar areas. Today we kept a couple of walleyes for a tasty fish fry.

I have really enjoyed all your videos, very educational. Never heard say negative thing until today..."secret spot", "pet peeve" about others boaters? That is not a private lake I presume...I'm sure having someone observe you catching a fish from a particular spot will not harm your success...keep producing these excellent videos though, we all love them.

Hey Tom I'm fishing lake pepin and this is my first year fishing this big body of water for walleye. I have fished my whole life on Bone lake in western Wisconsin for bass, muskie. For whatever reason I've decided to try walleye. On pepin almost everyone trolls #5 shad raps and I had pretty good success in the spring doing that as well but the summer months were tough so I tried the hyper rattles, and jigging suckers with the kailens 3/8 once big knocker. I haven't got one on those yet but I think my biggest problem is knowing what I'm looking at on my locator I'm getting better thanks to your vids but I need to spend more time just looking around and seeing what is what on the locator. I have upgraded my trolling motor for the spot lock which is awesome maybe next year a new locator might be in order. I really like your videos , take it easy!

The reason you desire fish more in fall and winter is the meat is better in cold water.
Throw 20lbs of ice in the livewell in warm months for better tasting fish.

Great video as always. Quick question about the Elliot rods for jogging. Is there much difference between the fast action and extra fast action for jigging those heavier weights? I like the idea of extra fast action for using it crappie jigging but I’m wondering if it gets overloaded with heavier applications while working heavier jigs for deep walleye.
