Seems odd, because undyne’s fight is with the kindness soul. Should’ve started out with toriel or hopes and dreams, but spear of justice is a great intro.
Pretty much no one in this comment section understands concert etiquette. you're supposed to remain calm throughout the performance as to not distract the performers. It's not they hate undertale, are salty, hate video games, or anything. it's just manners.
Yeah I've been to concerts similar to this one and everyone is usually well mannered and gives determined applause at the end of each performance. I've seen a few more vids from this concert that show more of the crowd. My favourite is during their Street Fighter 2 medley vid, in the bottom left corner there's a bald dude rocking out with the biggest smile on his face. Can't see him in this vid but I assume he was doing the same.

Percy Ross you dont have to smile throughout the whole thing, but there are cuts to the audience in which during that time, no one is smiling. if i was there, or any fan of undertale, they would probably be smiling. but then again, they do not know what undertale is at all.

To professionally play any non-solo part is quite challenging as a percussionist, as most percussionists don't have the determination to play a small part like triangle with that level of focus. Most percussionists prefer snare, timpani or mallet parts because typically they are the best parts in the music. It is also very easy to lose where you are in the music if you play accessories because it requires so much focus. You can also miss when to play because of the loss of focus, so you have to intensely focus. It can also get very boring playing triangle so you have to look the part as well. That could also explain his intense focus.

After 5 years, Asgore’s Theme has probably grown to be my favorite track in the game. It’s so beautifully composed, and I have such a deep nostalgic atmosphere embedded into it. The song sounds like almost near perfection! Then you hear this orchestral version, and you know how the song has now reached it’s fullest potential! This was the way it was intended to be played all along!
That blows my mind. How could you expect that years after some little dude composed songs for a game, all by himself in his room, that it would end up being played by an entire orchestra. Truly inspiring
Berguntrückung/Asgore sounds... so good in orchestral form. It's the most epic song on the soundtrack, and it sounds brilliant when given so many instruments to spread its power over.

Yes, they’re not lazy, cringy, cancerous, perverted, obsessive, toxic, volatile, annoying, irritating, easily-offended, cruel, whiny, bothersome, unoriginal, demeaning, deafening, detestable, barbaric, or any other word that describes the Undertale fandom. These are the good fans that we need.
It's a mix of all of those. Some people go only because it's videogame music, some because it's Undertale specifically, and some are music critics and people who just like orchestral stuff. This also applies to the musicians, somewhat. In this case, the orchestra appears to be exclusively videogame-based, so more gamers are going to be present than in your average ensemble, but many are only there because they can play well and they're making a career out of it.
I just noticed this after watching it around two dozen times, but at 2:07, you can just barely hear someone, presumably in the percussion (EDIT: MEANT to say woodwind, don't know what was going through my mind when I wrote that lol) section squeak, which earns him a priceless glare by the conductor hahaha
no really. There are hundreds of different sounds you can produce with a triangle, which all require extremely subtle technique. The goal isn't to be physically impressive, but to produce exactly the correct sound that accentuates the rest of the orchestra. Someone who plays the triangle will generally also be a percussionist. What instrument they play will differ from piece to piece, ranging from xylophones to drum sets to timpani and anything in between. A good percussionist will have a wide range of skills in producing hundreds or thousands of different sounds where necessary, and the triangle is one of the harder instruments to achieve this.
RedTriangle53 We need to stop the stereotype of the person who comes at the last minute of a concert to play a percussion instrument at the end, commonly a triangle and start educating people on how you need to mark rhythm really good with these things and also make a lot of noises that are hard to replicate because they don't have fixed sounds.

I love how this suite requires instruments that are less common for orchestras, like: Bass clarinet Cornopean Triangle Saxophone Guitar Piccolo flute To some extent, the piano too And by god a whole lot of percussion
OMG this is just so genuinely amazing. The transition between songs is so so smooth and it seems like the orchestra are just one big instrument with many little instruments, each playing just at the right time...

That because they use the same melody and rhythm. They are more or less identical but Asgore's is much more aggressive since...It's a fight you can't mercy from.

Megalovania is pretty complex, with a sound reminding drums and guitars and a lot happening at the same time (and spoilers!) so we had to cut somewhere. Undertale has enough amazing music to make two or three more suites like this one ;)
I know Undertale was made like... almost 7 years ago, I think? (Comment made in 2022) but the game is still considered one of the best in the world. And its music is still loved by millions of people. Thanks, Toby Fox, for the best piece of art ever. And thanks to all these brilliant people for making wonderful versions of these songs.

The goal isn't to be physically impressive, but to produce exactly the correct sound that accentuates the rest of the orchestra. Someone who plays the triangle will generally also be a percussionist. What instrument they play will differ from piece to piece, ranging from xylophones to drum sets to timpani and anything in between. A good percussionist will have a wide range of skills in producing hundreds or thousands of different sounds where necessary, and the triangle is one of the harder instruments to achieve this.

OMG this is just so genuinely amazing. The transition between songs is so so smooth and it seems like the orchestra are just one big instrument with many little instruments, each playing just at the right time...
The best symphonic performance of the Undertale soundtrack. Outstanding.
I didn't even notice Heartache, Asgore's and Toriel's themes sound so similar.

That because they use the same melody and rhythm. They are more or less identical but Asgore's is much more aggressive since...It's a fight you can't mercy from.
Bergentruckung was written like that. So in the game's darkest moment, you hear a familiar tune.
Also note that Asgore's theme has a callback to Undyne. ;)

Megalovania is pretty complex, with a sound reminding drums and guitars and a lot happening at the same time (and spoilers!) so we had to cut somewhere. Undertale has enough amazing music to make two or three more suites like this one ;)
In that case I hope you guys find the time for one more sometime.
Yeah, as much as I love Megalovania it's not the best for Orchestra because of the stuff happening it. This was wonderful as is, love it. :)

I know Undertale was made like... almost 7 years ago, I think? (Comment made in 2022) but the game is still considered one of the best in the world. And its music is still loved by millions of people. Thanks, Toby Fox, for the best piece of art ever. And thanks to all these brilliant people for making wonderful versions of these songs.
