Hey, Altaz! Good to hear you’re a fan of Brubaker. It’s interesting doing this series to see which films people highlight as favourites. Thanks for watching, hope all is going well
So many great movies to comment on but I remember two especially... Blood Simple is incredible and I got to talk on the phone with M. Emmet Walsh a few times. He ran a charity golf tournament in Vermont in the 90s and would buy collector coins from the place i worked at, Really kind sweet man! Also i remember the Boy In The Plastic Bubble was the first movie where I pretended I was in the same situation. I didnt have access to a lot of plastic, but could get large boxes that held refrigerators, so that was my bubble. Keep the videos coming!!!!
How fantastic that you got to talk with M Emmet Walsh. It was sad to hear of his passing but he was such a great character actor….I actually did have a real life bubble experience but not nearly as dramatic and I was young. The videos are coming, just uploaded part 5. Thanks for watching
Oh that’s great to hear. I really hope you enjoy it. It’s a lightweight caper but while it may not have advanced cinema in the same way as their pairing in Breathless, it’s just good globe-trotting fun and Jean Seberg is just stunning. Thanks for watching
Hi Neil, WOW, you really have a great movie collection. So many great titles. I wrote 2 times before on here and it got deleted. Guess i did something taboo. Anyway, I really enjoyed seeing all your B titles and look forward to more. Have a great evening!
A lot of Great classic movies that I have seen, but you showed a lot of interesting ones that I have not seen yet. Great video can’t wait to see the next one.
Hi Neil, there’s a fair amount of films in here that I had on dvd but gave away when I switched to blu-ray, some of which I don’t believe have ever made it to the Blu-ray format (quite an eye opener) an impressive mixture of genres and decades covered 🧐 thanks for taking the time to show us, take care mate👍😃👍
Hi Alan. Happy Friday! Maybe some of those will turn up on blu ray at some stage, all the various boutique labels are doing a pretty good job at snagging the release rights when they can. I’ve been fortunate with the different types of thrift stores around me to be able to get a pretty eclectic mix. The search is always fun. Have a good weekend
Really glad you're doing this series Neil. It's interesting seeing the different artwork variations to what I've seen this side of the park. Babylon I really enjoyed. For me Damien Chazelle is the most exciting director currently working. 4 absolute home runs so far. Baraka and Samsara look absolutely stunning on bluray. They could easily pass for 4k discs. Have you ever done an overview video Neil? If so I'd be grateful if you could link it in a video. Cheers mate.
Hi Roy. Thanks very much. I missed Babylon at the cinema and only picked up the dvd recently. Crazy I haven’t watched it yet really as likewise I love his other movies. I’ll get to it soon….I saw Samsara at the cinema, stunning. No, I haven’t done a review video but that’s worth thinking about. I do have the Criterion edition of the Qatsi trilogy, which are all stunning visually also, with Koyaanisqatsi definitely being my favourite of the three.
Funny, I recently watched Bite the Bullet! James Coburn might be my favorite for westerns. I got through Kubrick's Barry Lyndon last night, so that's another B off the list. I think my most obscure "B" title I have is "Burnt Orange Heresy," with a surprising role from Mick Jagger. Cheers!
Hi. Hope you enjoyed Barry Lyndon. I didn’t show here as have on blu ray. Burnt Orange Heresy is pretty recent, I didn’t love it but perhaps one to rewatch
I'm getting way behind on your collection videos! Babylon!!! There are no words...! I never heard of Backfire with jean Seberg and JP Belmondo. Bad Influence and Bubble were both picked up at a dollar store as blind buys, and I love both of them.
Hi Mike. Haha, yes I know you’re no fan of Babylon. I’m surprised with myself I haven’t got to it yet as I’m a big fan of all of Chazelle’s other films….Backfire is such an interesting one. Reuniting Seberg and Belmondo after Breathless should have made this a classic but because it wasn’t an artistic French New Wave film it got dismissed. It’s lightweight yes but both stars are stunning, it is filmed in several different countries plus the fact it has Gert Frobe in it as a gold smuggler and in the same year that he was in Goldfinger, I’m amazed it’s not a more well known movie. I really hope one of the boutique labels picks it up and gives it a new lease of life.
HI Neil, I just wanted to tell you that I watched The Book Thief today for the 1st time. I had thought you had that one, but looking back on this video, I guess not. It is very good! Maybe you had it on another format. A movie worth watching!
Thanks, Lita. I don’t have it and for some reason have never felt inclined to watch it, I do see it in thrift stores. I haven’t read the book either. I will perhaps watch it, thanks for suggesting
im holding you personally responsible for the list im making of all the movies i have forgotten about and need in my collection! :) can't wait for the next video...
Hi Sue. Thanks for watching. I’m happy to take responsibility for any movie lists you do….hmm, but maybe not for any subsequent spending or pulling your hair out as you try and make space for a larger collection :) Video 3 is up and 4 will follow soon. I hope you enjoy following along
Hi Neil, You mentioned in your video that you were in a plastic bubble for a short time like the movie, The Boy In The Plastic Bubble. Did you have no immunity? Don't know if you will get this or not! But I just wondered about that!
Brubaker! Just had to cheer for that one. Great film and Redford performance. Enjoying this series Neil.

Great collection blown away my friend 😅😅😅😅😅
Thanks very much. There’s plenty more still to show so I hope you’ll follow along. All the best
Just ordered a copy of Backfire . Sounds right up my alley. Great series

Hi Lita. I didn’t see any other comments from you on this one but no worries, it happens from time to time. Cs will follow in next day or so

My bubble experience was when I was young, not much melodrama involved and no one clamouring over the film rights
I hope I didn't offend you by asking! I'm very sorry if I did!
Hi. No, not at all. My answer was not specific as this is a public site and my aim is just to talk about movies
