I may have seen this video years ago I cant say for sure but...now i'm learning how to make plugins and i'm watching your video on linear pcm....lol so you really you goat tho....thats hard thank you fr fr !
I usually use a square wave through a low-pass with an envelope on the cutoff and some resonance. Then I use a carbon oscillator with a ring-mod and a phase on it. It makes a real beefy sounding bass.
While you're on the topic of dnb, it would be nice to see some Squarepusher style heaven-reaching, ambient chord synth sounds (like he does on the "Ultravisitor" track) to add contrast with the mix while dealing with abrasive drums and basslines.. It's sometimes a challenge to get clear character pad tones, in that context, like you were able to get at the end with this "skrillex" tone you did.
wow never really though that you would even consider replying to my comment :D i would love to see some drum tutorials for dnb. making drums. eq-ing them, compressing them, choosing the right samples, making the shuffles, the groove - its very hard. and most of the tutorials for dnb come for ableton or other daws - not fl. thank you very much!
you should do a tutorial on the chugging drop tones, like mantis- insomnia at 1:43. the initial drop tone, ive been trying hard for a long time and the closest i could get was by adding white noise with not the highest attack but not slow at all while maining low level and decay..but it more so just distorts it more than the effect im going for
do u know how to re-creat one Key element in Flux Pavillions "I cant stop synth". specifically in the 5:00 min version at 2:40theres this synth that sounds like a bit-crushed string horn element. Maybe uses a bit crushed saw wave. Its not hard hiding it sounds like air with a crunchy razz sound. I noticed he uses this in almost all of his synth to fill out the sound.
+Tom 817 He doesn't state that his defaults are different than the standard blank setup. Check at the beginning his LFO and NOISE OSC's. He changed his default MIX all the way to OSC 1 instead of 1&2 (should be obvious since you're only using OSC1) Finally your default RESONANCE on your filter is probably 0% like mine was, just kick it to 50% as he notes. The sound should scream them. Now if only I can figure out how to adjust the pitch with my keys and not just the filter...hmm... (sorry for necro-ing this post, wasn't sure if you figured it out.)
Could you make a tutorial on how to make the sound(or very similar) to what noisia does in "Burn the Obedient" by Korn. Sound is right at the beginning after he says "are you scared?" (0:03) Link is here: Korn-Burn The Obedient(Feat. Noisia)[CD Quality]
I like your voice.. it's nice to go along with a tutorial when the person sounds calm and direct
The annotations you make
Love your set-up of the video with the basic sound and tweaks. Spreading this like wildfire big ups!
If you're looking for more of a "Weekends!!!" sound, then change osc 1 to the Formant Saw.
