This is a tutorial on how to make the awesome lead synth from Zomboy - Nuclear. It's almost exactly the same sound, and the method shown here may very well be the method Zomboy himself used :3
No presets guys. If you can't follow the tutorial (it's very simple), then you need to see a doctor :P
Enjoy :D

I forgot to show it, but I did cut the lows in order to add my own sub bass. And I know there's a different patch for the harmony, but I'm lazy :P
best replication I've ever heard.
Out of all the remakes of all the songs in history, this one, sounds the closest to the song your trying to recreate 0.0 good job pro, subbed.
I actually like your version better :D
bomis181094 Lol
True. :p
5:07 thank you so much for that that has helped in so many songs
damn son, you go hard in the FL.
I'll be honest with you, at first I did 'acquire' my production tools. The only hardware I had was an M-Audio USB audio interface and some Sony earbuds to work with, but as I'm getting into music more seriously (and as I'm getting more money), I'm slowly 'legalizing' my collection of stuff, purchasing licences for the VSTs I have, etc.
I don't like to pirate, but I just couldn't afford it. I will eventually buy everything I use though, mark that :D
This is the best remake i've ever heard of, you sir, are a genius!!
wow dude thats one of the best and most accurate remakes of a dubstep track i've ever heard
that oldschool massive synth is just too gooood
You are amazing, I've learned so many new techniques just from watching you tweak stuff.
"You don't have to .. but just looks better." Lmao, made my day! Great tutorial, great result, perfect!

If your using Logic Pro, Edit the pitch bend by going into your Note Editor, clicking "view", "MIDI Draw", then "Pitch Bend". You then draw in pitch bend by using "Cmd+Click".

Whoa, that was quick! I wasn't expecting any views in the first week let alone the first couple of hours O.O
Yeah the growls were a bit tricky to figure out, but I guess I'll make a tutorial on them too :)
It's a pretty involved process so it will take a while, but it's coming, so hold on ;)
And thanks for the sub ^-^
I honestly thought that you was playing the song at the beginning, you are the shiz!
wow man that is a really fucking good remake you made there
dude this tut is quick and great!! and you should make a tut on that on one sound before the lead.
awesome tutorial! thank u
Excellent tutorial!!
Damn, I'd never guess this lead is so easy! Many thanks!
This is such a good tutorial man! Plenty tips to pick up in automation terms aswell, cheers :)
Damn you are one hell of a sound designer!
Thanks, you music is the best :D
awesome tutorial man, very helpful, I almost had this sound down before having to look it up. I was just making a simple mistake on my end ha. cheers. a bit of added info. might help one or two people, if you have a midi keyboard that's got the mod wheel or 'modulation' wheel to use that to activate the vibrato effect simply right click on the macro control you are using, so the one labeled 'vibrato' and click on midi learn. that will enable you to use your mod wheel to get the vibrato effect. to turn it off do the same again but instead of midi learn click remove midi CC. cheers again man :)
OMG How i did not know i could do that Knob Tweaking Clip just like that before!!! THANKS
Dude!!! This is great!!! You really recreated whole song! Can you do another tutorial about bass sounds in this song?
your version is so much better! WHOOO!
Great tutorial, thank you!
lol pretty close to the original he says... i honestly rolled my eyes because i thought you used zomboys actual track to show what sound you were going to attempt to be making. bravo. and on fruity loops. very nice
That's the creative part of it; your job :p
Wow! You're really good! I think you deserve to be subbed, sir ^^

Judgeing on the mp3 track through the yt compression. YOUR SOUND was even better clearer than that of the mp3.
this is gold
God damn dude, one of the closest remakes I've ever heard.
nice tut. like this!
jesus fucking christ, how are you not famous yet? that beginning sample was incredible. I thought it was gooing to be a shitty replica of a famous lead like every other tutorial on youtube but jesus christ that was good.
Wow, very nice! Subbed for sure, please keep it up! Thanks for sharing
Damn, so impressive! THANKS ALOT
this is amazing! how the hell did you figure these sounds out? please make a tutorial on the growl in the intro of every 8 bars. that sounds sick
best ever
Nice video. Thank you! :)
THANK YOU!
Just OMG, we need the fkn flp :D awesome dude!!
love it
Mr. jAyMaC, your tutorials have to be some of the cleanest, easy-to-understand videos on youtube! I have a special request if you will, "Dying (Original Mix)" by Kill The Noise, not the main bass everyone does but the buzzy bass at 1:26-1:32 PLEASE! If you could unveil that one.
I love you.
HopDubstep Just go to arrangement view and then any effects like modulation that you have activated will show on a dropdown menu under Massive to the right of the screen. When you click on the right modulation you will see a line appear and just move that line how you want to auto-modulate.
Completely true. The average human ear cannot completely hear pure sine frequencies. Often in tracks, if they use pure sine, you can feel the bass through monitors or headphones, but cannot hear the key it is played in. Dodge and Fuski, Kill Paris, and many other artists use the same technique that you do in order for the bass to be richer and more audible.
great tut thanks :)
Thanks a lot ! :DD
You've helped us alot ! :))))))
Thanks you sir 🙏
Fat respect, that you made a 1:1 copy. It must be very heavy.
AWSOME LEAD :D
I'll keep that in mind when I make the next tutorial ;)
awesome! + sub (very cool coocker bass)
GREAT !!
Also I tried this in Ableton, and the automation works fine "if you are using 9 for the curves"
thanks a lot!
this is EXACT! :D
Genius
This sound awesome!!! please!! upload a tutorial for the growl!!
awesome
Thanks a lot! ;D
Awesome man, a full version of your remake?
Great tutortial! Could be even better if you played the sounds each time you changed a setting, that always helps newbies learn and retain what a lot of these knobs do
Thanks man :)
Good quick and concise tutorial. It would be helpful if you would play a little bit between changing parameters in massive, so we can hear what each change does to the sound.
