Just got an Ace on the 4th of July with a Proton Pilot. It's one of my favorite throwing putters! Great video and content! I appreciate your efforts. I just hit the subscribe button. I hope you're having a great day. Keep up the good work!
Great video. Your ranking looks a lot like mine would. I have envy, glitch, proxy, spin, and tempo in my bag. I putt with the Nomad and also throw it on shorter approaches. That disc is very underrated imo, but for longer shots I'll always reach for the envy or proxy. The spin is a weird one. The flight is incredible. I love it for hyzer flip shots. The handfeel is not great though. I really wish they would make a truly understable disc with the envy core.
I been trying out some new putters for putting lately. I have an electron Atom and Pilot. I've liked the Atom better so far for putting. It has less of a bead so even though it supposedly has less glide I find it to not dump as hard when I'm putting, which I prefer. I have a soft Neutron Envy which is awesome for throwing, and forehand approaches. I like the pilot but not sure if I have a spot for it now.
They're both great for putting. I'm with you on liking the Atom more and they overlap a ton. I used to have a Neutron Soft Envy- they have great stability
The Ohm and the Pilot are basically the same disc except one is an overmold and one is not. Interesting that you'd rank them very differently. Absolutely LOVE the Pilot, personally. Something about the slightly softer, gummier Neutron blend they used in the Special Edition Pilot that makes me hope I have this disc forever. Somehow left it on a fairway last week. Didn't notice for a few holes. I was literally going thru the full spectrum of emotions as I searched for it. Love it that much. Eventually I did find it. I've never had a lost MVP made disc returned to me, so it was a stressful time. Lol.
Yeah that’s a great point. The pilot I tested was more overstable than i expected, but that’s probably just run-to-run variation and not necessarily characteristic of the mold. It’s a great disc and I see why so many people love it. I’m glad you got yours back!
@@FlyingFajitaDiscGolfDefinitely notice runs from every manufacturer can differ. Currently have 2 Pilots, one SE Neutron, and one stock Cosmic Neutron, and the Cosmic Neutron is way harder plastic and a bit more overstable. The SE is much softer plastic and gummier and is laser beam straight with the slightest late fade. The stock run is board flat, and the SE is slightly puddle topped. Have 2 Discraft Z Heats where one is significantly more overstable than the other. One having a pop top, and the other much flatter. Also 2 Innova Star Shrykes where one flies like a Shryke should and the other is very reminiscent of a Destroyer flight, and also lacks the glide. Watched a video a few weeks back showcasing machined discs. Feel like that could be the future, and the only way to ensure consistent flights from run to run. To add, my Stabilizer is super straight for about 2/3 of its flight, with a strong reliable late fade without being too dumpy. Played a round with someone I met at my local who had one that flew more like a Zone OS for me. I feel like it's easy to dismiss a mold cuz the 1st one you throw isn't what you're expecting. Another run however, may completely change your mind about it tho. Crazy game we play.😂
My personal favourite is atom because it is so shallow. It suits my hand very well! Most putters are just too deep for my taste. Envy is ok, but not as comfortable as atom. So it very much about how the disk feel in your own hand!
The Spin is a disc MVP should make in a more shallow mold. I personally went on a hunt for an understable putter a while back. I found I loved the flight of the Spin but its handfeel was way too deep for me. I ultimately ended up with a Prodigy PA-5
The pilot I'm fairly sure is just a non-overnold Ohm (which is funny when you say the ohm is your fav but it's not lol). I switched to the pixel, but I'd prob have putt with the Ohm if they made it in electron
My philosophy on putting is that its basically all about hand feel, while flight characteristics matter very little at putting distance/speed (minus the stabilizer for glideless meathook reasons). I throw putters more than any other type of disc- so that's where my rankings come from.
I like their putters a lot, I just wish they had a better firm plastic. I managed to crack a firm Proxy hitting a tree and the firm Envy actually has a -1 turn, so it flies like a Proxy anyway lol.
@@FlyingFajitaDiscGolf I like firm plastic cuz with my fan grip it feels like I'm able to get a better hold of it. Probably gonna fully move over towards Kastaplast K3 Hard. I love my Berg in it, and wanna try some Rekos.
Weirdly the Pilot I used was more overstable, and since then I’ve been trying out a new one that’s way more overstable, like an Envy. I’m just gonna chalk it up to injection molding and say they’re both good 😅
Envy and ohm are stable in my bag. Spin is too understable for my liking and maybe too deep. Ohm is now dead straight when it's worned out. My favourite❤
The Ohm I can throw hard, know it won't turn, and still get a lot of distance. But it's so hard to choose between these two- I went back and forth on them a few times while making this video 😅 Sometimes a want less fade at low distances and find myself wondering if I should bag the Watt instead... the search never ends 😭
Nice video BUT r2 neutron in every other disc? No one putts with r2 neutron or even neutron neutron. This video, while enjoyable and well made, is all about ranking the throwing of the putters, nothing about putting the putters and i believe that "throwing" should be in the title. Good video, sorry for being negative, just what i noticed.
Thanks for the feedback! My philosophy is that putting is all about personal hand feel and practice- my favorite is just the one I decided to practice with.

As a mostly MVP/ Axiom thrower I find your channel refreshing! Love seeing others take on the discs I use myself. Keep up the good work friend!
Thanks!
Really well thought out, and great presentation!
Much appreciated!

Heck yeah congrats on the ace! Thanks for the kind words!
The Proton Pilot is the best throwing putter I’ve ever owned. I’ve hit a few cages with mine but never got the ace… yet!

Harmony bends is my favorite course, I heard that there’s talk of a 2nd houck course going in on that property.
Heard anything??
I’ve not heard that specifically, but I have heard whispers about some nearby renovations… We need to get Harmony back on the pro tour!🤞
As always, nice job. putt with an Ion; throw with an Envy.
Good choices 👌

That’s why I used the Atom for a long time too- the shallow feel is great

The Pa-5 is such an underrated disc. I love that mold.

We need to get all of these in more plastics!
How are you able to rate/rank the discs without actually putting with them? I'm confused.

Wow that’s a bummer. I haven’t used the firm much- I always go for the medium. Though the newer electron medium is on the soft side.

Love the ohm but don't love the pilot, they're the same disc🤔

Such a good disc 🤝
Ohm most underrated putter of all manufactors.
A true hidden gem
So I drive with the Watt quite a bit…sell me on why I might like and OHM more 💰

Yeah I’ve been hoping for a mold more understable than the proxy with that hand feel 🤞
