I’m 42 years old and I still play competitively. Don’t sell yourself short my dude, you are not too old to play competitively. Love the tips and as always content is crispy clean.
Really helpful and relatable tip video Trevor, you put an awesome twist on the cliché technique videos that are all over these days. Multiple tips you mentioned apply to my game currently; the channel gets better every week! Can't wait for next Monday
These are starting to be my favorite videos coming out of “foundation” love this more laid back style in addition to the regular content you help out out!
Been looking for tips on putting and never really thought my grip was the problem, until I tried the fan grip after watching your video! What a difference! Felt awkward for the first couple throws but I’ve seen extremely quick improvements in my game! Thanks Trevor!
Dude, great video. Really useful tips for all players. And great conversational presence on camera, very positive and easy to follow. Really appreciate it, Trevor. Look forward to more. Ben
Had never heard that putting tip before this video! Instant improvement for me practicing it today and playing a round with it (and my putting percentage was all ready pretty good). Thanks Trevor!!
Really appreciate how the tips were deliberately ordered to match the holes you were playing (especially the first 4 in particular) to give them context and make it that little bit more meaningful. Hand feel is a massive thing for me, completely agree with that, if I don't like the feel of a disc and I bought it online or got in a player pack it doesn't go in my bag. Love all the tips, lots I know about, but even just hearing them re-iterated or explained in a slightly different way is still a great reminder to get me thinking about some of those things again.
Great tips Trevor! Simple, easy to apply & focus on to make good habits. Been playing almost 6 months now, I'm a finger on the rim for putts, going to make that change. Thanks.
Great job ordering the tips to fit the holes as you played them for the most part. Could tell some planning when into that. For me, the picking an individual chain link when putting made my putting SO much better. It helped me not think about anything but throwing into my aiming point and nothing else. I also found that depending on distance I needed to pick a more right and high chain to account for hyzer and drop.
Hey Trevor, idk if you’ll ever see this but if you doI just want to say that both of your tips videos instantly changed my game and I actually started winning tournaments (MP40) instead of just barely breaking into the top 10. Thanks so much for those videos! Literal game-changers!
I never realized I wrapped my pointer finger on the outside of the rim until this video. I tried the adjustment today at the course. It's different but it definitely helps a ton. Thanks so much for the pointers!
Great tips, Trevor. I''m enjoying the channel. (A shortcut for the first few tips is to play catch with a putter with a friend as part of your warm up. If you're newer to the game, play catch even more frequently. You'll figure out your thumb positioning, learn the fan grip, and will develop a touch forehand.)
Saw your video the previous night and used your putting grip technique and boy did it do wonders to my put. I used it for a 150ft shot and hit my second ace with it also! Love the video, thanks so much for the content!
Hey Trevor, I’m not sure if you’ll see this but I actually took your putting tip. I had a my first MA3 Tournament Sept 30th (12 days after this video was released) and completely broke down my form to get the same grip you use. I ended up winning the tournament and I don’t think I would have won it if I didn’t stumble upon this video so thank you!
These tips are pretty simple but honestly so helpful! Thanks for putting them all in one video, so when I come back I can get them all again when I forget in about 3 days 😂
Love the tip about pressure! Will def be thinking about that for my next few tournaments! Also always wanted to try some Hooligan, especially the thread!
Great putting tip!! 3 months back playing after 12 year hiatus...don't ask. Had always wrapped index finger on rim in past and continued so now. Implemented tip today with instant improvement in both feel and results.
I needed to hear this before last weekend. What you said makes total sense for why one of my buddies constantly had better upshot’s… his grip changes. I didn’t think about it but we have talked about it. Time to test some stuff
Love the new channel. Excited to try out some of these tips to try to improve my game. I currently putt with my finger in the rim so I am going to try to move it off. I have tried before, but it felt weird and I didn’t stick to it. Also, definitely want to be in the giveaway. The discs look sick. Yeet and vibe a little too high speed, but the thread would be perfect.
Great video, personally took alot away from this. Like most, my game is constantly going down and sometimes up (lol). Been playing for years and really want to be more consistent so I hope these tips will improve my knowledge for the game.
Hey I’m the worst about putting my finger on the edge when I putt and also the forehand upshot helped me understand why my upshots have been not very good during my last 5 tournaments🔥 thank you Trevor I appreciate you doing this video🤘🏻🤘🏻
Some of those tips do really help my game. The fan grip one just makes me sad, because I know it's true and I feel the same way you did before you used it.
Thank you Trevor, I went and had a game after watching this video and I noticed when I moved my finger down from the rim, my putts was a hell of a lot straighter and more accurate. Cheers
Learning how to throw a forehand has been one of the biggest obstacles for me. I've gotten to the point where I can throw them but not reliably and I tend to be one of those that hides behind using the stability of discs still, but the tip about slowing the wrist down was paramount for me and I still have to remind myself from time to time to slow it down. Great video, Trevor and please count me in for the giveaway! Thanks!
Tip #8: Enjoy the pressure. I really like that. For a while now I have been trying to intentionally add pressure to myself while out play casual rounds. I love getting into pressure situations on the course.
Ive either heard or figured out all tips but tip 7. Ive never heard anything close to tip 7, so thank you for sharing that one. I also love the explanations on all tips. You explained many of the tips in ways I havent heard. Sometimes hearing the same tip explained in different ways can help someone understand it.
Love the tip about feeling the disc before buying. The last disc I bought without feeling it was the thunderbird and while I liked its flight, I hated its rim, especially for forehands and now I just don't throw it. Every time I'm at a proper shop I looove to feel all the plastics and rims. That lat 64 royal grand plastic is AMAZING
As a player that has only been in the game for a couple of months, getting these tips early will help improve my game massively. Still trying to find my groove and preference on throws but getting there one day at a time.
Great practical advice! Would love a video on course management. I have conversations with newer players and it blows my mind when they've never thought of "playing the percentages" or "playing for the good miss" when choosing what shot to throw.
Yes - that would be great. Never forget the day my then 14 year old won his first big tournament. Final hole - 2 shot lead - he pulls a putter out, when he had parked the hole other days with a mid. I kind of looked at him a bit funny, but he goes with it and his throw is 60 feet short - but easy upshot - tap in for 2 shot win. I asked him about it later and he said "the mid could have reached the OB golf green [which was left of the disc golf green], but the putter couldn't so I threw short". I learnt something about course management right there!
2:44 Get your index finger out of the way when putting
5:45 slow your wrist down on forehand upshots
8:20 aim small, miss small
10:50 fan grips exist for a reason, learn how to throw one
13:45 don’t be afraid to go more understable
16:30 prioritize hand feel when shopping for discs
19:03 when scrambling in the woods, look for daylight
20:20 learn how to enjoy the pressure, not to ignore it
22:43 develop a routine/form that you like, and stick to it
25:44 for distance, timing is everything
Thank you
All I wanted.
Perfect, this guy is long-winded
I’m 42 years old and I still play competitively. Don’t sell yourself short my dude, you are not too old to play competitively. Love the tips and as always content is crispy clean.
Dude, look at Scott Stokely or MJ or so many players. This is a game for a lifetime.
I'm about to turn 40 and I'm a year into disc golf, I would love to know how to get better at my age and be competitive.
Just keep playing. RUclips and the people I played with taught me everything I know. Emulate until you find your own style and technique.
I appreciate that.@@travisobenshain2666
Really helpful and relatable tip video Trevor, you put an awesome twist on the cliché technique videos that are all over these days. Multiple tips you mentioned apply to my game currently; the channel gets better every week! Can't wait for next Monday

I want to be like Trevor when I grow up
Me too
Me too, and I am about 25 years older
In which aspect(s)?
The attitude that there are lessons to be learned is one to me.
Also that he says he's not a master of something "yet."
Thank you Trevor for the slower sidearm throw tip. Been really struggling with it for a while now and today at the course it made such a difference.
Great stuff Trevor! Lots of really awesome advice and ideas. Your honest video and humility is really refreshing.
Love that you gave who gave you the credit, very real and helpful to say this is what I’ve learned from others, let me pull it into one place!
Great tips and surprisingly most I’ve never heard of. Thanks, and kudos for the new channel! You’re great and it’s great 👍

I respect any disc golf content creator that films misses. Cuz that’s real talk.

Some of those tips do really help my game. The fan grip one just makes me sad, because I know it's true and I feel the same way you did before you used it.
Honestly Trevor, you have a lot of great content, but this is one of your best videos.. Great Tips. Something for everyone. A lot for some. (me).
Thank you Trevor, I went and had a game after watching this video and I noticed when I moved my finger down from the rim, my putts was a hell of a lot straighter and more accurate.

Here for the tips AND the hooligan disc giveaway. Great vid!
Great video, great tips.👍
Index finger off the rim is a great tip. I tried it and putting works and feels better that way for me. Thanks!
