Would love to see a side-by-side review. This has 243 hp vs. 189 in the Sienna. About the same fuel economy. Maybe the Sienna is a little roomier (?). Personally I think the Sienna is a little more stylish (this looks like a square box). A lifted Sienna might outclass this. :)
2 big advantages of the Sienna are sliding door and deeper trunk space which translates into more cargo space. Our 3 kids are older now but when they were young I wished we had a minivan. We survived that phase with 2 Acura MDX's but sliding door would have been much easier to load and unload small kids.

I drive a 2008 model that has 265-285 horsepower. The torque is much lower. Horsepower limits or allows the max speed. Torque is the acceleration that gets the vehicle to the top speed. The new grand hybrid max is definitely worth the upgrade with 362 hp and 400 lb ft of torque! Proven and shown 0-60 in 6.2 seconds and a record 6.0 seconds for this large vehicle. Remember this is a suv for a family car not meant to be for racing. Also could tow 5000 lbs.

@@KirkKreifels yea finding one to test drive has been a challenge
Will they ever make a full EV. I really like this SUV, but fuel mileage should be much, much, better. Near the 50mpg.
it weighs just short of 5 thousand pounds, the same as a brand new Dodge Durango that gets about 20 mpg and falls apart in 10 years.
it's only a few MPG short of a normal Highlander hybrid which is smaller and lighter.
50mpg is currently just about impossible in something this size without the use of plug-in technology
@@zacharyreynolds4303 exactly. I don’t know if all these commenters have a MIT degree in physics. The MPG or EV range of a vehicle depends on 3 main variables. Engine size, weight and battery packs. You can have it all until we have nuclear fusion power vehicle.

Toyota, how about Plug-in GH with solar panel covering the big roof...?
I don’t see solar roof happening. PHEV may be.
@@jml9550 new Prius plug-in has one, i think
@@hynsum yes that the Prius Prime, RAV4 Prime, Lexus NX450H+, but to keep cost/selling price down on this GL, I doubt it will be offered. Maybe the new Lexus TX will offer it since the Lexus buyers are more financially capable.
@@jml9550 I was thinking that big roof on GH would make a lot more difference and make more sense then on Prius Prime. I understand that Toyota trying to keep the price down and it's option but Prime models are not targeting affordability I would say.
@@hynsum can’t agree more. Hopefully they will offer the solar roof on the TX. My gut feeling is no.

sienna xle or this? :)
This according to my wife.
@@nwsvndr ask 10 females and 10 will tell you minivan are a big no no. This is pure marketing.
2 big advantages of the Sienna are sliding door and deeper trunk space which translates into more cargo space. Our 3 kids are older now but when they were young I wished we had a minivan. We survived that phase with 2 Acura MDX's but sliding door would have been much easier to load and unload small kids.
I like the prototype design. Now seeing this the styling is disappointing.. I'd call this the Rav4 XL.. It looks like it came out of 2010-2012 design era. I guess you can say simplistic.

@@andrewsworkshop not hating, just expected more emotion from the design.
@@laurenzdeganos9875 okay. To each his own for sure because I love how it looks. There's a vehicle out there for everybody.
Hybrid will save you on fuel, the other engine in max will have more power.
Where is the 0-60mph/0-100kph time ??
Long time to mention 😂
Around 7.5s. If that’s too slow, I suggest a Rivian R1S large battery pack for the weekdays and a Porsche 911 for the weekend. 😊
False. The panoramic moonroof is available on all trim levels
Paint the wheels a nice dark color and it's good.
Move over Sienna.
Make more you put a few TRD stickers on her. It helps.

2024 RAV4 XXL! 😂

243 horsepower won’t cut it for me. I have an older highlander with the V6. Won’t be giving it up!
You will be surprised how quick it is off the line with the electric motors. My wife’s new NX350H has the same power train and almost 4100 lbs. Sure it is but a V6, but it doesn’t consume fuel like a V6 either.
@@davidzheng369 exactly and great points. Buy it, don’t buy it, Toyota is not forcing anyone. If you want crazy horsepower and room for 7, BMW will gladly sell you a X7M and Mercedes has a GLS 63 AMG.

I love highlander with a V6 that PSO 4cyl for that heavy asz SUV ain’t it im. Sorry keeping my 22 for a while
Motorised seets are a useless gimmic. People know how to do it and they do it rarely enough.
This color definitely makes it seem like they stretched out a Rav4 rather than the existing Highlander!
Cx90 way to go over these larger rav4 with small engine
If you like uniqueness yes
It all comes down to a larger third row. if you're only going to use it in rare instances and you're not going long distances with that third row, then Mazda CX90 would probably be fine. I think Toyota was aiming for the class. later's I'll palisade and telluride
It's a lot of work to lower the seats? You kidding me! This is how lazy this generation is. Too much to pull a lever and push. Pathetic
It's ugly
Toyota company as whole is cheap mentality, they ask for vehicles' big price tag and their vehicles same old same old interior design.
Toyota is known for poor design of vehicles.
It’s ok but I rather keep my palisade calligraphy. If I were to think of getting into this it would really only be top trim that I would pick and it’s not worth it to me. That engine itself ain’t worth the 60k to me and interior I know the palisade is better and exterior I believe it’s nicer and what I prefer right now in my family car. Would like the MPG tho and thankfully I don’t drive that much so don’t kill me on gas. Nice vehicle tho.
Just wrote a $52k check last month on my wife’s 2024 Lexus NX350H. She drive less and 50 miles per week and doesn’t need to work. Am I wasting money? Maybe I am, but a measly $52K ain’t much.
