'THIS IS WAR...It's An Attack On The Poor!' ULEZ, Bladerunners And The Battle For London's Roads

  • Concerns have been raised about government control and privacy issues surrounding the ULEZ camera system, with some going so far as to attack the cameras.
With the ongoing debate between environmental concerns and individual rights, Talk explores the hidden battle for London's roads, as some say they're not too bothered by ULEZ, while others struggle with daily payments.
This all comes as Conservative mayoral candidate Susan Hall told mayor of London Sadiq Khan that “nobody believes you any more” as they exchanged political blows during a radio debate. The mayor responded to the claims by saying he was “not in the pocket” of his party leader.

No one should be FORCED to pay a toll on public roads!
    They are PUBLIC roads.
    Not private roads!
    If people choose to pay.
    It will stay.
    If people refuse to pay.
It will be too expensive to send everyone to court.
So it will eventually go away.

Most taxes are taxes on the poor. If you take 20% of someone's wages when they earn £30k a year, they will massively notice it and it will affect the things they can do. If you tax a billionaire 45% they may notice it but it won't affect the things they can do. Now apply thing same thinking to all tax. People on under 100k a year shouldn't be taxed on anything. They will still work but they will be able to live a good life. Tax should come from the rich and it should be a scale. Billionaires should pay so much more than millionaires. They would all still live a very good life and in most cases won't even need to work.

It's about the direct effects of particulates and exhaust gases on the health of residents, pedestrians, cyclists etc within the vicinity of roads. Petrol cars complying with Euro 4 and diesel ones complying with Euro 6 will be okay, and there are plenty such vehicles available to buy second hand if you don't already have one. I believe there's a scrappage scheme to address the cost

    • @vylbird8014
      @vylbird8014 23 дня назад

@@jeffzuess9149 Depends on the time. Particulates tend to settle out and break down fairly quickly, so while they do pose a danger in the immediate area they don't spread far or linger long after the source is eliminated. Carbon dioxide is the opposite, it'll stay around for centuries just slowly accumulating, but it doesn't do any immediate harm to people breathing it.

Every single day an older car is scrapped so basically we are slowly getting there lowering the so called polution so why not just let it take it's coarse, also if you pay £12? you can legally drive in these areas so magically your vehicle suddenly become compliant!, you can run your engine of a non ULEZ compliant vehicle on your own private land in a ULEZ zone & there is nothing they can do about it, also why are places like Heathrow airport not being charged for all the emissions the aircraft emit coming into land & taking off which is situated in an Ultra Low Emission Zone, aircraft give out emissions just as much as road vehicles

They cant see beyond their noses, they think this is a about emissions and honestly believe if they get an ev then they will be able to continue driving!!! Oh dear, what a shock coming when they realise no driving, no escaping your zone, no choice, no wealth as no one will be able to earn so this middle class lifestyle will all be gone and they will be no better off than the working class but have a heck of a lot more to lose so wont cope in a much angrier world and its not going to look good if they are viewed as the ones who thought this was nothing to worry about so sat back and let it happen.

Pity TfL couldn't bring themselves to support a UK business and buy the cameras locally. The fact that so many of these cameras have been destroyed, and the amount of public outrage against them, but TfL are still pressing on shows how much contempt they have for the people of London.

I can only believe that those questioned who say they are not bothered by ulez, do not own a car. Ulez, congestion charge & CPZ's are are all about fleecing motorists to refill TFL & councils coffers due to financial mismanagement, while LTN's road closures to cars have caused increased congestion to surrounding areas as well as the inconvenience. Then there's all the neglected potholes. Drivers really are getting shafted.
