    Great video. It would be superb if you'd show us how to use these in Substance painter.

    Hi! Could you please make a video explaining Color Management for dummies, how to create textures using OpenColorIO, ACES. Who should use, how to use it, what happens behind the curtains when we use ACES, what happens to the colors in the viewport/color pick when texturing, if the colors of exported textures changes in relationship with the legacy, if you need a specific monitor, how to match the colors in the substance viewport with engines like unreal, unity and also marmoset, which is often used for quick testing. thank you very much in advance!

      Hey Alisson, good point. I'm looking into it. It's a big topic so needs some research and prep before we do such a video.

      I don't know if this was ever addressed but at least I'm going crazy over the fact that the color picker when activated it changes the screen image of what's going to be picked. Then as a result the color picked is wrong... I'm using photoshop and others to copy paste the HEX directly.
      Example, I have an imported image with some colors that will be useful as a reference (as a resource, it lives inside the .sbs file)
      - The image section I'm interested in, in the 2D View image info part, says they are around: (80, 40, 180) RGB as channel values
      - Go to an available color picker on another node (say, a simple Uniform Color node) and select the color picker (the whole screen changes colors bit at this point), then pick around the interested zone in the 2D view mentioned before.
      - The value that it picks is totally not even close to (80, 40, 180) it skews to like (40,10, 210) for saying something.
      No amount of combinations I tried between Legacy, OpenColor or ACES (and the shown checkboxes and default color spaces options) made it work... the only thing that works is if I put my screen from Display P3 to longname-here-sRGB 2.1
      EDIT: wanted to add that changing the display P3 to sRGB 2.1 is not a reasonable feature as for some reason the brightness is very very low and don't have control anymore over the screen's brightness (it becomes grayed out at the OS level)

      @@Substance3D Thanks You Did It! Now please can you make a video with a focus in render game engines and ACES, like the engines mentioned above?

    How would i add a custom png for these brush strokes to be mapped ontop of?

    • @wes.mcdermott
      @wes.mcdermott 2 месяца назад

      Hi, Yes you can add a custom image by importing it into Designer. Instead of using the Shape node, you can use the custom image.

      @@wes.mcdermottThank you, whenever I add an image it imports it as a bit map image and doesn’t let me plug it in to the rest of the node sequence. Any advice would be helpful?

    • @wes.mcdermott
      @wes.mcdermott 2 месяца назад +1

      Are you getting a Red-dotted connection line? It could be that you need to make sure that the imported image matches the input type such as RGB or Grayscale. For nodes with Grayscale input, you need to switch the imported image to Grayscale. Drag the imported image into the graph and select it. In the Attributes, change the Color Mode to Grayscale. You should then be able to connect it.
