We live in a city of 4 million dominated by freeways and endless traffic. Camping in the wilderness seems the perfect antidote to the hectic frenetic lives we live. Thank-you!
Clear and crisp air.. I spent a few winters at A Camp 4 hours north of High level Alberta 50 km from the NWT best winters ever the northern lights were great and the sound they make crossing the sky was amazing sky was dancing.. Best 3 months in my life each year I ever had, I love the north.
Yeah I miss the cold !! Lighting the stove in a -30c and feeling the warmth slowly filling the tent is addictive. The dancing light of the candles reflecting on the walls and the smell of food cooking .....the wieght of a heavy , cozzy sleeping bag...waking up and seeing the frost build up around the tiny hole used for breathing... yeah I miss the cold !! Thanks Jay it was nice to watch.
What great videography! This was such a treat seeing some winter scenes in July. I know winter work is quite tough, but it sure seems to beat the summer's mosquitos and the threat of bears!
Old stove! Love the reminder that winter is just around the corner. I’m not much of a summer person. Don’t like bugs, bears, heat waves, thunderstorms, fires-well. Anyway, I look forward to lots more of the winter wonderland that we experience with you and the one I experience right here at home. Love the snow crunching the absolute best.
A great reminder on a warm summer day. Of how it was and how it will be again very soon. Love the videos, glad you are getting out to do this. No way I can way too cold for me..
That was a bit of a trip down a cold memory lane! I remember several of those baloney sandwich meals, still salivating! That sure was cold! On the upside, mosquito count is low! Thanks for the great vid Jay!
I needed this this video got me cooling off from this heat and humidity I have been feeling thank you for sharing I love 💕 your videos and your camp site
Hi Jay, it is so wonderful to see an old video as opposed to your newer ones where you have added a solar generator , electric fence. A remote back to basic wall tent should be just that. To tell the truth, I miss the old barrel stove. I just rewatch your old videos now.
@@JohnyLingo He was making videos long before the solar generator came into the picture Besides, you are quoting "Without technology, you wouldn’t be able to see the old videos" from Jay.

Hiya Jay, Man, I truly enjoying watching your videos. Now, I’m no camper by a long shot,, but love your “Learn as you go,” way of being up there at the tent. It’s always good stuff, always interesting and educational, even makes my hungry sometimes. 😁 You are doing a fine job up there, and the many views of camping life you show are always interesting and exciting. I love all the tools, gadgets, and even when you get things a little wrong. You have the right temperament and don’t take yourself too seriously, and that is refreshing. And that’s some procedure you use to film everything for us. Amazing job! I also enjoy how you take us along every step of the way, big & small explaining each part of you figuring it out. Bravo to you. And I gotta tell’ya, your channel relaxes me and just makes me appreciate the lifestyle up there. You are one lucky guy and I truly enjoy watching you glitter-done. Wish I was there sometimes, but in the meantime, keep doing what you’re doing because you’re doing swell. 😊👍🏽 -Mb in NJ
Summer just flies by up your way..lol..just kidding The squeaky sound of the snow and the crackling fire…ah cozy! Love those fried baloney Pac-Man sandwiches ….mmm Nice video..great to watch in a heat wave Take care 🇨🇦❤️
Another cracking vid Jay 👍 i don't care if it's pieced together from others it still made good viewing. Just looks like such a peaceful place to relax and eat well and watch those gorgeus Northern lights 🧡 your a lucky man 👍
Hey bud really enjoy your videos, I’ve been off for a while because of work and internet problems. Down here in Alabama we don’t have snow like that and I’m thankful cause I would freeze lol! Keep them videos coming! God Bless!
I must say this was an improvement not hearing that hillbilly music to start. I like the silence. Not saying music doesn’t work, just not the same tune and something more appropriate. I like the music you chose at the end. You must be way up North for it to still be snowing and not summer weather.
Hey Jay. What a treat!!! The heat index today was above 100 so to watch this video enabled me to pretend I was in a winter wonderland. Thank you for sharing. 😄
Hi Holly. It's actually been very hot way up here too. Non stop sun for nearly 6 weeks now. I'm really looking forward to the darkness coming back and those first fires in the fall at the tent. Always nice to hear from you. Jay
Heya Jay! A nice montage...but the crispy footsteps in the snow reminded me that Old Man Winter is only 5 1/2 months away🥶 I will rewatch this when my prairie summer day is over 90°F 😁 Take care!🇨🇦
Ahhhhh. Seeing snow and hearing it squeak is a pleasant diversion from the current 107 heat index here. These videos are about as close as you can get to 'storing' winter to enjoy in the summer.
Just tried out you're square build of wood in my gas bottle wood burner like you do to start you're burners , and it works a treat burning like mad and the heat is great from it ! ! Cheers ill do this every time now . . 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm from Alberta and worked up in Yellowknife. You know how they say that when it's that cold it's not that bad if you're dressed for it? They're lying....
I like to get the snow on the lake because the snow closer to the tent has sediment from the trees. The further away from the trees I get, the cleaner it is.
I love how when the temp and humidity get down to a certain point the fire wood begins to emit the parks like fireworks. This usly happens when the weather reaches the twenty-five or below arround where I live. Add snow to the mix and the wood will pop like a commercial fireworks show. This is beautiful in an outdoor setting but a nightmare in a home or cabin. Lol
Glorious gift on a July day! I wanted to yell "No, Jay, not that stove, it'll killya!" but it came out OK in the end, better than OK, it was really exciting. Hope the skeeters don't carry you off before the next snowfall. And the Northern Lights...

A.W.E.S.O.M.E. A man, his cabin in the cold, a hot fire and man food. Loved it. The music at the end was also fantastic.

Thank you for the effort you put into these beautiful videos.
Glad to see another great video and good food
Thanks Jay! Either this is some old footage, or your Canadian winters are WAY longer than we thought! ;-)
it looks like old footage zipped together...but good regardless for new viewers who may have missed older videos 🙂
That's what I'm saying too. lol
