I think upsets are fine and way more entertaining when telling stories. If the favorite just won, why not just have a world final that is LPL 1 seed vs LCK 1 seed and can the rest of the tournament.
I really dont agree with Montes view on the upsets. Upsets are what makes this early stages interesting(I still feel the pain in my chest from Kaboom) and also stating that G2 has a chance to beat only DK+ from Korea is pure bs.
@@vikiviki408 well cause its being realistic, tho they both on copium thinking only g2 could take a game off d+ or any lck/lpl teams lol ignoring gg already did that to blg as well in msi. so it's not that it can't happen just that in a bo3/bo5 western teams including g2 will fail hard unless some epic throwing occurs.
I think what Monte meant was that one-off upsets suck (so not a team being surprisingly strong throughout), because all the matches after it are made worse. The team achieving the upset gets eliminated immediately, and the tournament lost the better team that could have made everything more competitive.

Nothing could have been more hype than the way it played out. Sure the quality of opposition would have been better for the final but that's not what tournament's are about.
Don't get me wrong, I do still respect his opinion on the game and enjoy his content. Just the occasional elitism view baffles me.
I don't get why this is worth an essay. Monte isn't having a take or even an opinion here. He just said he hates upsets as a passing reason to why he wants to see XXX team win. There's no argument in the video on the value of upsets in sports. Is this like one of those arguments you're having with yourself in the shower but you can't hold yourself back any longer so you vomitted it out in the comments?
Dom going to Korea? Isn't he allergic to Koreans minus the few that play in LPL?
Oscar came later than the rest of Fnatic because of his hand, the European teams came later but not that much later.
Goddammit Dom, put on some lights.
Yeah, the most visible thing on screen is that terrible blue light in the background. I guess it’s a meme now
IWD is not welcome in kr
Bwipo made it as Top a few times and then Jg in 2021
i never understand dgons takes. who the hell is convinced on TL for them to be disapointing?!
Its because they are doing well in SoloQ so people are hyping them up from a skill perspective because Apa and Yeon are both crushing Korean SoloQ.
You don't need to be an expert to know the west has no chance.
2018 rng and 2019 g2
I think upsets are fine and way more entertaining when telling stories. If the favorite just won, why not just have a world final that is LPL 1 seed vs LCK 1 seed and can the rest of the tournament.
rng 2018 last time
RNG with UZI
Pessimist get to be right. Optimist get to live life
Nrg and g2 to bracket stage baby. This is the year for the west
I am not sure where I hear/read this but I am pretty sure the team minus Oscar are were in Korea early. Oscar came later because of a doctor's visit.
i'm pretty sure Caedral mentioned it
Is NA going 0/16???
I really dont agree with Montes view on the upsets. Upsets are what makes this early stages interesting(I still feel the pain in my chest from Kaboom) and also stating that G2 has a chance to beat only DK+ from Korea is pure bs.
both montes and doms korea/china copium is pretty funnysometimes
Bwipo made it in 2 roles
Out chinesed by the chinese😂😂
My boy IWillTencent coping
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
This didn’t age well
Imo all Korean and Chinese teams will make quarters and semis might be JDG LNG T1 and GenG. JDG should win but anything can happen at worlds who knows
bold prediction guessing china 1 2 and korea 1 2 seeds will be in semis this year, thanks for sharing :D
No they won't
For all 8 eastern teams to make it, you can't have any of the last 3 face each other in the 2-2s. Only 30% chance of happening with random seeding
Dom coming in with G2 cope again remember when they were supposed to beat BLG lol. Yagao smacked this team up
He had to he thinks he’s European now
❤
Yo let’s go
👍
