I took a moment to write down the pattern from the video (should be the same, I wrote rows instead of rounds for personal use, and used • instead of asterisks to prevent making the text bold) in case anyone else needed a written pattern to help them: Simple Crochet Coaster (Pattern from RUclips video by Crafting Shed, 2017) *DC=Double Crochet, SC=Single Crochet* *Start* by chaining 3 *Row 1:* DC 11 times into the first chain stitch, slip stitch into first DC of the row/round. *Row 2:* Chain 2. DC into first stitch, 2 DC’s into each stitch around, slip stitch into first DC of row. *Row 3:* Chain 2. DC into first stitch. •DC into next stitch, 2 DC into the next stitch• repeat •-• (2 DC in every other stitch), then slip stitch into first DC of the row. *Row 4:* Chain 1. •Skip a stitch, SC into next stitch, skip a stitch, DC 5 into next stitch• repeat •-• and slip stitch into first DC of row. I’m a beginner, so I’ve run into a few issues (mainly the coasters will NOT stay flat, but it does depend a bit on the yarn?) but after watching this tutorial several times I’ve made quite a few and it’s been so helpful :) hope my writing of the pattern is alright and helps others. Love this pattern, thank you for your video!
Thank you I love the way you gave instructions verbally and had the written as well. You've made it very easy. Your video was great. Again thank you so much.
Very simple and easy for the beginning of crotcheting for newbies or something quick for those of us who just want to do a simple project and have been doing crochet for years
I truly enjoyed this follow a long video. As a new beginner, the only suggestion I would give is to please tip your work up (camera angle) so newbies can see exactly which place the stitch belongs in. I made one and I love it, thank you so kindly. After making these, I have noticed that the very last slip stitch does not provide the “dip” down that the other petals created so to correct this, I end with the last slip stitch placed down into the previous row (row 3). I hope this is taken as a positive comment as no criticism is meant in any way. 😊🌸
I love this. So cute and easy to make. I love the color pattern of the yarn too. What kind and color of yarn is it? Can't wait to make some of these I will be checking out your other videos too. Thank you for sharing your talent. Take care, jlee :)
I sometimes wonder if these video producers get their friends to make nice comments because I have tried this pattern 7 times and it does not hold up properly. She doesn't give you a stitch count at any time, letting you know how many stitches per round, which is really important when you are trying to check your work. The description that she does give DOES NOT PRODUCE an end result that is balanced. The petals do not line up evenly, most of the time leaving a gap between the first and the last petal on the final row. The camera work isn't instructive. it doesn't let you see exactly where she is placing her hook. If you follow the written instructions EXACTLY, you get a mess. There is something she is doing to produce an evenly spaced final row that she is not directing us to do, or previous rounds have the wrong number of stitches because the instructions are wrong. This is NOT a good video or "absolute beginners" because of the missing information I mentioned, above. If the producer of this video had counted her stitches and told us the stitch count, we could know the key to this pattern, if there is one.
Very easy! I really enjoyed your video
Thanks
I’m a beginner and I feel like I know what I’m doing. Very encouraging and these are addictive!
Thanks for this pattern! Simple and cute for my kiddos 😊

How long and at what temperature did you cook the ribs please?
Would this be ok as dishcloths
Isn't the 2nd row chain 2 a half double crochet? My coaster is slightly bowl shape. Why isn't flat? I followed the directions exactly.
How about using Peaches & Cream, I can't seem to find Sugar & Cream
You Are very sveety
Thank you!

Way too fast for a beginner.
