Yes... I did... I love making popcorn stitches and make flowers with them and then put leaves around... makes a very pretty granny square... I was thinking maybe someone taught you it was a "puff" stitch😊👍
A 4-petaled popcorn granny square: l learned more than 20 years ago:
Ch 4, join with a sl st to form a loop.
Ch 3, (counts as first dbl cr throughout)
4 dbl cr in ring, pull loop up, remove hook from loop and insert in top of ch 3, pull loop through to tighten (popcorn made).
Ch 3, SC in ring, ch 3. 5 dbl cr in ring, pull up loop, remove hook from loop and insert in top of first dbl cr, pull loop through to tighten (2nd popcorn made).
Ch 3, SC in ring, ch 3. 5 dbl cr in ring, pull up loop, remove hook from loop and insert in top of first dbl cr, pull loop through to tighten (3rd popcorn made).
Ch 3, SC in ring, ch 3. 5 dbl cr in ring, pull up loop, remove hook from loop and insert in top of first dbl cr, pull loop through to tighten (4th popcorn made).
Ch 3, SC in ring, ch 3, sl st in top of 1rst popcorn, fasten off, weave in ends. 4-petaled popcorn flower made.
For leaves: Attach green (or color of choice) in any sc. Ch3, 2 dc in same sc,;(a 3dc shell made) ch 3, 3 dc in same sc, ch 1. 3dc, ch3, 3dc in nxt sc, ch 1. 3 dc, ch 3, 3dc in next sc, ch 1. Do the same in the 4th sc ending with a ch 1 in the top of ch3 of first dc shell made. Fasten off.
Join contrasting color/background color in any ch 3 sp, 3dc (remember, a ch3 is counted as first dc) ch3, 3dc in same space (corner made), ch 1, 3dc in ch1 sp, ch1, 3dc, ch3, 3dc in nxt ch 3 sp, ch 1, 3dc in ch1 sp, ch ... Continue around ending with ch1 and then sl st in top of ch3. Little popcorn floral granny square made... Add other rows in granny style... But there are many things one can do with this...😊

In the second round there should be 16, I have 15.
Then in the 3rd she says there should be 24, I have 22.
I have undone and done the stich again and again so many times. Can someone guide me? I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. I've rewatched and redone so many times.

    • @SigoniMacaroni
      @SigoniMacaroni  3 года назад +1

I’m glad you like it! I didn’t “intentionally” create it but I do love that it turned out that way! When you’re making it (like it the video) it looks a lot more cupped than it does when you’re finished with the popcorn stitches. I would use the hook size that’s recommended for the yarn you choose.

It’s totally normal for your personal tension to change over the years. 2 1/2 years ago you were probably a much tighter crocheter and now you’re more loosey goosey, which is great! The same happened to me. The more comfortable I got with crochet, the looser my stitches. Going down a hook size will help with that

My first completed project! Not sure if I used wrong weight yarn but with the puff stitches it wouldve turned out more like a trivet so I omitted them. Very informative but definitely would have appreciated a slower and clearer explanation of which stitch you were going in. I pretty much guessed on every slip stitch to connect the circle, and we can't see what hole or stitch you are going in. Im sure its obvious to most but as a beginner I was super confused and it was extra challenging because of the guesswork I had to do

I love this pattern. However mine came out more like a doily and much bigger than a coaster. I used 100% cotton Lily Sugar n cream and. 4.25mm hook. Also my project is curled a little bit. What did I do wrong? Thank you. What size in inches was one coaster supposed to be?

You really like calling the popcorn stitch a puff stitch. I'd like to try to make a set for my sister-in-law as she's getting married. About how long should it take to make these.

My favorite drink is sweet tea. I bring a thermos of it to work every day and I am making these so it isn't so loud when I set the thermos down each time.

I love to drink cold things, it's literally my life line. the problem when you buy too much Frappuccino's and bubble tea is that you dont have a single dime to afford one good looking coaster, and I'm a perfectionist so if i see a little bit of condensation on my drink i wipe it off immediately so I eventually have to stop my study session's for it and eventually lose motivation to do my school work. In conclusion Thank you so much for making this tutorial, my sister just asked me to also make her one for her coffee.

Lol, that's funny, I am such a beginner that I actually said to my husband " honey I just learned a new way to do a puff stitch" lol. I was just going along with it but I kept thinking that I've never made a puff stitch like this.
