Searching An Old Abandoned Seaside Settlement

Metal detecting, looking for arrowheads and searching the many cellar holes of this once thriving, but now abandoned seaside settlement, is the video for today. This area was originally settled by the Indians and we found much evidence of their occupation to include shell middens, stone tools and arrowheads. Later it was settled and many homes built as part of a granite quarrying operation. The homes were dismantled and moved "lock, stock and barrel" to the mainland just around the World War Two era. All that remains are the stone lined cellar holes and and some of their plants they planted and tended for food over 100 years ago.
