- Ever harvested coins, even silver coins, from a deep crack in solid granet all the while racing against time as the tide is coming in fast and furious??? Whelp... if not, here is you chance to see what it is like. Please join me, Billy and Thor as we go metal detecting and then discover a giant crack in the granite rock that once served as an accessway to the wild and rough tidal open ocean water and where apparently many things were lost or thrown away, including silver coins!
If you ever journey up to Down East Maine and get the chance, check out Billy and his Real Estate business. He can be found at www.BoldCoastPropertiesllc.com. He will hook you up too!

Those coins are probably the pocket change from the last guy that got stuck in that crevice.😊
😂😂😂
Gotta love dark comedy! 🤣
Didn't get out before the tide came in...
No coin is worth drowning for. 😁
Hahahahahaha
That place has more cracks than a plumbers convention!
Lol
🤣
😂
😅
You were making me wicked nervous, I was really enjoying knowing how fast the tide comes in Down East.... I can honestly say that metal detecting videos have never made my heart race... Until now. Great job Chigg
Can’t WAIT until you go back there a Chigg! I’ll bet there’s soooo many artifacts and treasure wedged amongst all those cracks and crevasses.... Great video! Please do another?
There's a lot of crap in there too.
Could not agree more! You have to go back and bring a bucket, right tools, sifter and make it an hour+ video!!
Yes Chigg!!!!
Now I'm going to have nightmares about Chigg getting his
foot stuck and having to chop it off with a rusted file before
the tide comes in.
I hate it when that happens.
No doubt he would forget his rusty file in the chigmobile.
But when the next explorer found his bones and said "Are the hooooman???", they would be right and the planets will line up again. But not to worry, he know how to "hold his breath".
“127 seconds”
😃😄😅
Thank you for taking us on your adventures with you Beau! My jealously level is 100%
3:22 engine crank shaft
3:54 3 large pipe fittings
4:06 winch parts?
4:11 buoy for crab pots
14:33 part of a door latch
17:15 some kind of crank shaft.
17:59 handle off metal bucket or tub
25:19 battery plate
Huh? Lol
@@williamvanderpol7193 how are you confused?!
So, I did some e-digging, and those grates and buttons are a type of battery plate. Here's a small list of what I've collected:
1. That plate design is called the "Manchester Positive". It is the positive electrode in this style of battery.
2. The grid is a lead antimony alloy, and the "buttons" are rolls of pure lead. The rolls form a build-up of lead-peroxide. The grate does not, because the antimony protects the it. This keeps the grate from deteriorating.
3. The positive and negative plates were separated with wood inserts. At one point, these battery cells were housed in open glass jars.
4. They were used for various things, including cars.
One source of several I found is a book from 1923, by Charles W. T. Stuart, called "Car Lighting by Electricity".
It's on Google Books for free if you want to look, and there are several other good reads on the topic as well.
Great research.. Thanks
Thanks, it seems they were used in Australian submarines back then.
Cool! 👍👍
Hi from Greece.I love Metal Detecting.Thank You for your videos!
I have lived in Maine my whole life and no way would I go down into that crack! Lol you are so brave. Gorgeous spot you were at!
8:09 how to catch a chigg. round shiny objects jammed in a crack
Chiggers are a thing but this is hilarious.
One thing I have learned over many years of watching you Chigg, is look where "nothing would be" And a lot of times it will be there. Thank you for so very much great info over the years!! I have found where you said.
I'm honestly a little mindblown that there's copper there. Just south og there-- mid-coast, the water totally eats copper. The 'coins' and spoon bits I've found were just like lace. Brass holds up better, it seems. Amazing treasure hunt!
First time here, just saw your 3rd AD Patch! Echo/HHC Company, 4-18 INF, 2nd Brigade, 3AD. 1989 to 1991. Thanks for your service!
I like how chigg gets laser- focused when he finds stuff
One of your better episodes, very entertaining.
I don't think chigg has EVER been prepared with the right equipment he needs when he goes on a dig. Ever.
One of the more intriguing (and unprepared) vids I've seen this week. That juxtaposition works, and is kinda refreshing.
Go back go back go back go back go back go back go back go back hey chigg go back please mate
Love this sort of treasure hunt
The large plate at the end, is a backwash plate inside a kahooter valve found in turn of the century trawlers use in fish oil production. May all my future children be born naked if I'm wrong!
As a midwesterner, we have the most bland accents, or basically none. Northeastern accents are so awesome!
And see I've always imagined most folks from the Midwest sounding like Edie McClurg with that overly cheery, nothing phases them accent. Oh you betcha.
Please come back and get the coins
"A nutha booall"
been watching your stuff for a few months now. i live in the woods of Maine, i`ve been detecting some old cellar holes on routes that have been used for a couple hundred years. great fun and exercise, lol. good stuff, Chigg, thanks for the fun, ive learned a lot watching you
The Triton balloon is my brothers who lives in Cutler Maine!!
Hellloooo when you dropped that big piece of melted lead it rang like silver take that to be checked 👍👍👍👍👍👍
KINN, That would be a really sneaky way to hide a hunk of silver, eh?
Cant remember led ringing like that... Ummm could be tin but yes not led i would say. Also the color looks much like stained silver.
zinc....see it every day all day.
haahahah thats a crab comb. a comb fer crabs ?lmao classic. loved it man. nice silver
Love watching Captain Billy !
Yes Chigg please go back. Great adventure.
Yes go back Chigg be safe out there and GOD BLESS you and your family buddy Amen 🙏
Now if I weren't frightened of getting caught in there and not noticing the tide coming in; I'd be all about checking that area 😃
Tides are dangerous to take for granted. You would have seen that while staying in the cottage . Stay safe! Be aware! Nice explore
That was awesome... you have got to go back there armed with a railroad bar, pliers and dynamite if need be :P
😂😂😂 @ dynamite 😂😂😂
Awesome video Chigg. Just came in from a L O N G rough day and this is just what I needed. Well, and those 2 cold beers too!!
Looking forward to seeing you go back in the crack to get those coins!
Engine flywheels , startermotor and crankshaft , How strange. cheers great clip.
There's nothing better than firckling amongst rock pools 😍😍😍
Upside down seagulls? "Nothing worth sh**ing on!" ;)
This video caused a dream after watching it of scratching around and uncovering a piece of flat sea shell that was black on one side. On that side was a detailed etching of a pastoral scene of people sitting on a rock in ancient robes. It could only be seen by turning it at certain angle like a hologram on paper currency!
I think the plate at the end is like a heat exchanger or something from a steam engine maybe
✊️✊️ Another awesome episode ✊️✊️ Thank you for sharing with us. Happy Hunting Everyone 🤗
The lead lump looks like a zinc annode off a boat sounded to tinny to be lead.
Yeah as soon as he dropped it it didn't sound like lead, zinc is more likely
You are so cute when you are excited Chigg xx
Chigg definitely go back. That place is so cool.
14:30 - on the bottom of the screen, just right of center is a coin. I would love to explore that island. Thanks for taking us along.
It looks more like a brass door lock key. Also he immediately picked up a piece of door hardware.
All sorts of whatchamacallits and doodads and thingymabobs to keep the Chigg fascinated for hours! Awesome!!! Mike in sunny Florida
Beau ! What You NEED is a Spider Monkey. Send him in with a pair of forceps to retrieve the coins in the crack !
You may have to get the Organ playing to encourage him, but a perfect solution !
man - that looks dangerous going down that crack...i would have never gone down there
There are a ton of large engine parts in there, which is weird... right? Flywheels(when you said "big gear!"), crankshafts, etc.
The bittersweet...the Chigg finally found his gold coins...got his foot stuck in the rocks...the tide came in...and he drown-ded. RIP Chigg.
OH !!!!
He dieded
And his last words were "Hold your breath! "
@@marymisdom3955 😁
That isn't nice to say
17:23 steam engine crank shaft.
I thought it mightve been part of an internal combustion engine definitely a crankshaft tjough
Stuck between a rock and a hard place for sure. That trip wore me out. When you were squeezing through the cracks and crevices, I was all tense and even holding my breath.
During the season change the American Aqua chigger moves to coastal areas to forage .Not often do we see a Aqua chigger this far from his freshwater home
In the last crevis when you found the coin the brass bullet shaped things are oxy acetylene cutting nozzles
New England is a great place for history!
This is the best ever video. Please go back and get the gold dubloons and ruby rings and the Cyclops eyeball and pirates peg leg and his big gold ear hoop. Thank you for all your wonderful adventures. Be careful in THE PIRATE CRACK!
chiggs in a candy store down there in that crack! Can't wait to see you come back!
Omg i held my breath with you climbing in that crack
There be GOLD and SILVER THARRR....keepa huntin"......GL to ye......
Chigg! please go back to this place again! it is such a cool place, with coins!
I can't wait to see what you fund!! Even the old nails are cool. I can't wait for you to go back!
Thanks for the great time chigg
Aw, it's not coming in that fast...but that big wave from the tanker is -Glug, glug! A coin for Davy Jone's Locker.
I love the story associated with that coin. Adds so much more value than the true worth of the coin.
Why so many lobster combs? Lobsters don't even have hair! 😂
Yeah, I was wondering that myself, what the heck is a lobster/ crab comb?? 🦀
That's exactly, why they always throw these useless combs away.
Awesome! You have to go back and take us with you!! I bet there are LOTS more coins to be found! Bring a backpack with needle nose pliers, hammer, and screwdriver, and GLOVES. You can always leave it up top,. At least it will be close.
Love your excitement.
I'm from Maine!! I love watching your videos. I love treasure hunting too. Im so happy to see you up here in Maine. Funny I new it was Maine before even reading to see if it was. We have unmistakable land scape up here.
That large nail was a deck nail from a ship
That tide splashed right behind you😂
YOU NEED TO WEAR GLOVES WHEN DIGGING AROUND SHARP, RUSTY IRON.
AWESOME VIDEO!!!
PART TWO SHOULD BE FASCINATING! 👍
That's what I was thinking
Well u go back with right tools. I found u made it an interesting little adventure. Don't be alone, stay safe. Good luck.
Chigg you absolutely have to get back to the crack, who knows what’s in there. Be quick before Billypete cleans it all out!
Extreme crevicing. Nice interesting finds and can't wait to see the followup.👍😉💛
Awesome metal wachamacallit beach treasures! Looking forward to tomorrow's trip back there.
❤️❤️ sorry I can't watch this one I'm claustrophobic 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 I can't breath 😂😂😂😂😂
The guy is defiantly not afraid of getting dirty.
Your a true thrill seeker..
I was worried the water was coming up and sweeping you away...🤔😱😉🥰
That flat plate thing at 25:16 with all the little round things in it is a "vintage positive battery plate". From old Farm Lighting Batteries.
Dude you walking in the crack made me so claustrophobic… wild illusion
Interesting video. I have many cousins living in Maine that are lobster fishermen so any videos from there is very interesting to me. Enjoyed watching.
Glad to see you having a great time getting stuck in a gut in the great state of Maine!
Pretty Awesome! I hope you go back and get those coins!! I'd love to see that.
Chig I would be happy to see you go back there and I would love to see what you dig out. There’s no telling what might come out of there
Need tweezers that have rubber insert or lined that could grip those coins
" Is that a bomb ?! " " Grabs it "
Needed a set of mechanics hemostats for that job.
My Mom use to work for Best Lock cool. Thanks for sharing continue to see what's in the rocks.
Great adventure again Mr chiggs and go back n get all the treasure 😜👍
I remember.....but like you Beau I cannot remember what they where!!
Peace
Charlie 🇬🇧

Maine! The way life should be.
I’m reminded of the movie “the rescuers” where the little girl was trying to find the diamond for the evil step mom in the cave while the tide was coming in.
Wow nice all that caving experience paying off
The large lead plate and the other large lead objects are from big lead acid storage batteries. I recognize them as I worked in the battery recycling business for 15 years and have seen them often also It's kind of a mystery as to why all those battery parts would be down in that crevice. There was a crank from a hit and miss engine and a couple of engine flywheels near there also.
This reminded me of this season's finale to The Curse of Oak Island.....
A two foot pry bar to move the wedged in rocks, a sponge to suck up the water so you can see what's hiding in the small puddles and needle nose pliers. There are needle nose pliers that are about a foot long. Wrap masking tape around each jaw so you won't scratch a coin.
You gotta start carrying a Leatherman multi tool and a long flat screwdriver.
Ok chigg, watched it twice now. It's time to go an get all those gold, silver, an copper coins. An all that pirate treasure thats waiting to be discovered by you guys. 😁👍👍
I love these tall tales they tell in Maine. Haha
Use taped on the ends of a needle nose pliers, they make long ones too!
Amazing how much stuff one can find in their crack! You should always keep your crack clean! Cool finds!
