Thank you so much Dear Anne for this meaningful and valuable teaching that addresses the human reality of longing and I would add in my case yearning to be validated and seen including being heard by others. I guess an extension of being validated could be to have a sense of being valued by others as well. It makes sense that loneliness would be there in the absence of being seen, heard, and welcomed to be oneself in terms of one's feelings, thoughts, ideas and or perceptions. Thank you Anne for bridging the gap and emptiness of loneliness and for accompanying us in such a lovely way by teaching us skills for how to accompany and validate our own feelings.

@seachange2512 - I am touched by your response... being seen and heard and welcomed is so important, by others and by ourselves... Ann.

I am intrigued by focusing and reading Gendlins book. I believe I need people I can practice focusing with to get real transformation. Can you recommend an affordable way to get into this?

I found some focusing practisioners in my country and did the intro course - it DID have a substantial cost at the start, but I found someone in my class who I focus with weekly to this day. We have been focusing together for 3 years so I think it's been worth it. It's important to be a reliable focusing partner for the other person, to show up to appointments together, and remember the boundaries of focusing which is not to talk about the content of focu

I did an intro to focusing course in my country around 3 years ago and it DID have a cost, but I found someone in my class who I enjoy focusing with and we have done it weekly together for around 3.5 years. I think it was worth the money in the end. It's important to take a course on how to focus before finding a focusing partner.
