Great revues thanks Martin. Agreed, like me I’m continually putting on products on both of my cars so longevity doesn’t come in to it, it’s more how it makes the car look and amount of beading for me 😀😀
Great review. I had just made a decision to "run down" my stocks of detailers and other protection products - that's not going to last now! Looks like a "must have."
Hello John, not sure about a drying aid, not used it for that myself but certainly not needed to use it after every wash as it has staying power. Depending on how often you wash the car, I would suggest once a month will keep the car looking good especially if you use a drying aid after every wash. I dont know where you are based but if in the UK then for me a great drying aid is Garage Therapy 2QD or P&S Beadmaker. Hope thats of some help
@@ObsessiveCarDetailer Hello and thank you for your reply. It is appreciated. I've been using DIY Detail's Ceramic Gloss as a drying aid and I find it to be very effective, but it does need to be buffed to get the benefit of it. I was impressed though at the Fukupika. I do like Soft 99 products and now this is another must..... As there are so many good products in the market place, my question is would this replace any of your current arsenal?
Wow Chris, that was quick. Im sure you will really like it. So easy to apply and in full sun as well. thought I may of had a few problems but no issues. I had never heard of it before🤷♂️
Hi Martin, good video. When you said it wasn’t a true test because you hadn’t “de-conned” the car, did you mean you hadn’t used a strip wash product to remove the old protection? I usually associate the term “decon” with using just an iron remover followed by clay bar when required.
Hi Paul, basically yes. I look at decontamination in two phases. 1st phase:- Chemical where I remove all existing protection, any road tar & any iron fall out. 2nd phase:- Mechanical where I clay the car followed by a machine polish. As a minimum I would complete a chemical decon before laying down a fresh coat of protection. That way you can get a really good understanding of how the product performs as it will be bonding to the paintwork. In this video I just use it as a sacrificial layer of protection where it bonds to the existing protection on the car so you cant really judge its longevity as you won't know what failed. Hope that makes sense as I have rambled on a bit🤷🏻♂️
Hi Martin! I'm back after a long time away. Quick question mate - how does this compare to Garage Therapy Detailer (results, slickness, ease of use)? Cheers!
Hello Bob, good to hear from you. GT 2QD is a firm favourite of mine, I love it and probably the most used product on my shelf but this Soft99 product provides longer protection & easier to apply as no buffing but GT 2QD is a true detailer that will clean as it protects. I would also say that GT2QD is slicker. so for me, room on my shelf for both. If you are looking for a sacrificial layer to protect then Soft99 but for a true QD I dont think you can beat GT2QD. Sorry mate, no winner you just have to buy both🤷🏻♂
Bit late to the party on this one. Would you say this is one of the easiest detailers to apply, that also offers a decent degree of hydrophobic protection? Seen GT sigma v2 mentioned a few times in the comments. How does Sigma v2 compare to Fukupika or are they totally different animals?
Good evening Michael, my personal favourite of the two products is the Soft99 Fukupika even though I still can’t pronounce it. Like most Soft99 products, top quality and just so easy to apply and that’s why I favour it over Sigma. However I don’t think either product will disappoint. Never too late mate, alway happy to chat about detailing 👍
Sorry, me again. Bought Fukupika spray and wondering if I wash the car on a weekly basis, is it’s ok to use the Fukupika weekly or is that overkill/a waste of product? Would a monthly application of Fukupika be better and use something like GT 2 Quick Detailer (or Soft99 luxury gloss Detailer) on a weekly basis.
@@michaelrimell6217 Hello Michael, yep a bit of a waist of the product. You have it right by using either GTQD2 or Luxury Gloss after each wash and then top up with Fukupika after a couple of months👍
