I feel like Truth is missing the point of the SSJ Vegeta, he's there to juice up the spirit bomb, die , nuke the enemy and then heal you back to full, he's not supposed to be an actual exchange you use
I feel like you kinda want to float him to get max results tho. Like put him in slot 3 so that the others can get their support. Only thing is you probably don’t wanna do that if the enemies health is too low.
This new standby skill is so unique. With this dokkan can release some dope cards. For example a standby beast Gohan, A paikuhan standby for Gogeta, maybe a trunks that switches for Vegeta to charge the Final Flash. Dokkan has done something amazing and the future of this game looks very promising!
Thank you for doing a no dupes showcase. I rarely am able to pull more than one headliner unit per banner so stuff like this helps a lot when it comes to difficult content
Standby skill is why Beast came out the way he did. I have hope for the future of units, beast in particular. A Gohan and Piccolo card that standby skills into just a piccolo while Gohan charges and revives into Beast. Oh yeah, give it to me now please

Same original account from the 3rd year anniversary gogeeta and vegito. I think the 2 biggest leaps in animation quality was the agl metal cooler and LR goku and frieza. Before that everybody and there mother had the same corny Kamehameha or a variation. My how far we have come. I think Lr fusion Zamasu has my favorite animations as a whole. Not to mention he might be the only character with an intro animation, active skill animation, ki nullifier, 2 super attack animations, and a dope K.O screen. Slight bias included( I'm a huge goku black and all forms of him) I think he has the best animations as a whole.
They are both insane units Besides the giant nukes having a super defensive unit/revive almost always on demand makes them the best utility this game has seen in a long time

These cards make me believe that there might be a gamma duo unit that has the iconic stand by nuke attack and a Gohan and piccolo that revives into beast Gohan
The thing I think truth missed is you can choose where you want to revive. Imagine that on the harder events times where you don't want to revive and times you know you're gonna take alot of damage.
I feel like there is a good case to be made for either being better. The thing yo do after you transform is probably to put them as a floater to take advantage of that super support. Try to maximize how long you can have it up, you know? It's a huge power boost for a LR heavy team. You can of course just keep stacking for a long time too before exchanging to get it to hit like a nuke. I love how flexible the unit is. I do think you want to die on them if possible, so you get that extra 1 turn stack in too. But, yeah. it's very impressive.
Dude I love the standby skill for this unit. It actually feels like a super dramatic last stand, you see goku is down and out for the count, the entire world is in shambles, and everyone is putting their all in to try to take out the enemy despite the horrible odds. Pretty epic.
This card and SSJ4 Gogeta aren’t perfect partners but they work well together. Their defensive ability alongside Gogeta’s attack breaking or nullification mechanic on his 18ki basically make the enemy irrelevant in the first 2 slots. Wonderful design 👏🏾
I wish they would get more defense somehow, like per hit recived or something just for be an Indisputable slot 1, but Uff if they are Planning to implement reduce damage skill orbs this guy could be really good.
Don't worry they will update it to where you can skip standby skills but this new so at least let everyone see it before they give an option to skip animation
Animations are on point for this unit, amazing 18ki supers, standby, Ssj Vegeta with the Z fighters & of course the Spirit Ball rivalling Buu Saga one if not better imo. Damage reduction and stronger Spirit Bomb is a big plus too.
Truth you can place them in first slot which gives them additional 100% def so that they can get 4 hits..i think thats the reason they got that additional def
Vegeta is SUPPOSED to die XD. He gives one of the most insane support buffs in the game to your allies then dies so you can universal spirit bomb. They do swap back as well but I’m curious to know do you keep all of your damage reduction stacks you had prior when you swap back?
Truth i think youre missing it, vegeta revives PERIOD for 5 turns, when you have his revive you just CANNOT die for 5 whole turns. Its not like carnival goku or cooler, when you checked vegetas stats every unit on the team had the revive symbol. Vegeta just has an unconditional revive for 5 turns
The GT one is gonna be better in more short events because they build up quickly. Also the revive, you can activate it for the whole 5 turns even if the Vegeta is not on rotation.
Goku and Vegeta should've had Saiyan Roar. Why not; GT Goku can have it, Vegeta is there it would make them work more effectively with the other Super Saiyan 4 Cards
I finally got my question answered thanks to this showcase. I believed like the Z LR they'd change back into their form pre-Standby skill, but wasn't sure if the build up part of their passive would remain or reset. We now know that the build up portion remains because the manChild that dropped the revive spirit bomb got hit by int cooler and only took 80 damage despite having a defense Stat of 217k.
@Chri2608 I think it might be the GT LR because of their 50% DR that they have in base. There's a strong argument for the Buu saga LR though since they stack defense and have guard on stand-by

I’m looking forward to the new possibilities with this new mechanic, definitely hoping for a vegeta and MUI Goku, I think it is the only twist left for that form until they continue the anime. Also the granolah saga will buff so much the new category whenever that happens.
At what point do you think they should allow multiple revives? TEQ Carnival Goku needs the revive to have a a perma guard, these GT duo needs a revive to launch the spirit bomb. And if you run both, I'm pretty sure you can only revive once sacrificing the other.
DATRUTH the 70% chance to additional super procs first and then the guaranteed super so if you get a double super when ur 24 ki you will get that third super

I only pulled one copy of both 8th years and the lr gods. I'm super happy to finally have em but lord lemme tell you the first couple turns are rough with how low the defense stats can be 😭

I am curious if the ssj Vegeta's revival skill works the same as the Z version, where it's still active on the other rotations. We didn't get to see it in this video, but if it works the same and you just get a guaranteed revive for 5 turns, I would say they are a bit better compared to the Z version. The revive is just such a strong mechanic to have, especially in the most difficult content.
Truth I think a good idea on these new characters showcases is to tell us what you think the best builds for these characters are I full on believe every word you say(not on your peen) but you are Datruth for a reason🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I’m still not very sold on the new anniversary units, I know they are crazy but they don’t blow me away like last years anniversary units performance wise, there standby skill is cool and does a LOT of damage but that doesn’t mean they are invincible. Need to see more showcases
I’m kinda feeling the same way. These guys are def at (or near) the top of every tier list but don’t feel like they’re a massive jump from LR piccolo (who could stomp any event anyway). I think a horrendously difficult event to show them off would be good to showcase their full potential.
The only one that’s truly invincible is vegeta from the z duos. The 8% per ki obtained while having a pretty good defense boost is bonkers especially since you stacking defence before the standby carrying over to him
Why would to compare them to last years? Last year was a monumental leap, AKA a new era where difficulty had to be raised drastically which rendered 90% of cards unusable in said content. You thought we'd have that repeat again for some stupid reason? Most big content creators, including Truth mentioned plenty of times that they don't think we'd see anywhere as big of a leap as the one from last year since we're still in the process of getting Red Zones.

The Switch into Goku gt and ssj4 vegeta dies make Sense because in the KO Screen u see dragonballs and with this, Goku Gerd revived. Thats why the spiritbomb is a Revivemechanic
They're really insane defensively. GT duo can tank every event super for reasonable dmg at 55% and the DBZ duo can build up to tank every event as well

The Z duo is better than the GT duo. For me it comes down to their standby skills. The Z duo offer two turns of being unkillable, and then drop a monstrous attack. The GT duo only buy you "one turn" of safety, and then they drop a monster attack. Therefore, the insane support the GT duo get means nothing. Imo the GT duo their first and third turn should have been unkillable as well while offering insane support to the whole rotation. Yes, you obviously want to get the spirit bomb, but the Z duo only get the spirit bomb on their third or fifth turn and during those turns they are untouchable. I hope my point is easy to understand lol. These issues are only enhanced by the fact that you can only revive once.
I restarted on jp dokkan and also had the chance to summon on the ssj3 goku and ssj2 vegeta, didn’t get them but i did get god duo, int ssjbe vegeta, and agl fp frieza in one summon, so im happy
Unpopular opinion… but the more I use these units the more I dislike them. They feel like glass cannons the first couple of turns and the Genkidama is not doing that much damage if you don’t crit… I don’t know how to feel, maybe I’m using them wrong!
just had a thought. they could probably do another rof blue goku & vegeta unit with a standby & a revive counter. it'd be way later in the future but it is pretty criminal that yamcha from the moment he got turned into a meme of all characters got better treatment
the gt unit is a bit more consistent actually; 50% DR will handle much better hard bosses regardless of type; the revive healing is good and the support on that rotation helps the whole team to do crazy damage, imagine setting up active skills for when you revive; dbz vegeta after switch is epic itself but if the boss attacks 4 times in each slot you'll be caught depending on how defensive other units are; basically gt unit achieve its goals of being a good single tank, healer, team support, firepower but dbz unit does not have a team defense capability at all
Hey truth so, I managed to pull both 8th Anni units within the first rotation sinc the banners went live and I am so bad at team building and I also don't have all the new and powerful units, practically f2p so I try and save my stones for big celebrations and I was wondering since I have both new 8th Anni units can I run a team with both of them in that team and still be a good team with other units I have, Im looking at the teams you made for both units and i have most of them and have to substitute a couple units
Yes you can Don't worry about red zone for now, try to see if you can beat some older events to awaken your units and get your rank up. Higher Rank means better friend leaders
I got the banner unit to 79% in one rotation, they look mid but still a W? Still got stones to grind, hoping to pull A new LR and on of the gammas, got 800 coins backup to buy both gammas if needed
SSJ3 Goku and SSJ2 Vegeta is easy to go all out with add cause they stack def and has free crit in passive but the GT units is a lot more complicated. They stack attack but have dmg red, so add gives them potentially more def for their dmg red, or crits with their stack attack.
That vegeta. it's as he's a walking active skill. he exists for one turn most of the time and he dips. grants the turn immense ki and attack and then throws a nuke at them

You see this units with 300/400k defense start of turn but taking under 100k damage from big bosses when you put them in slot 1

We didn't get to see it in this video, but if it works the same and you just get a guaranteed revive for 5 turns, I would say they are a bit better compared to the Z version. The revive is just such a strong mechanic to have, especially in the most difficult content.

I’m still not very sold on the new anniversary units, I know they are crazy but they don’t blow me away like last years anniversary units performance wise, there standby skill is cool and does a LOT of damage but that doesn’t mean they are invincible. Need to see more showcases
I’m kinda feeling the same way. These guys are def at (or near) the top of every tier list but don’t feel like they’re a massive jump from LR piccolo (who could stomp any event anyway). I think a horrendously difficult event to show them off would be good to showcase their full potential.
The only one that’s truly invincible is vegeta from the z duos. The 8% per ki obtained while having a pretty good defense boost is bonkers especially since you stacking defence before the standby carrying over to him
Last year the units needed to be that much more busted because there was a BIG jump in powercreep due to the new 200% leads and redzone
Why would to compare them to last years? Last year was a monumental leap, AKA a new era where difficulty had to be raised drastically which rendered 90% of cards unusable in said content. You thought we'd have that repeat again for some stupid reason? Most big content creators, including Truth mentioned plenty of times that they don't think we'd see anywhere as big of a leap as the one from last year since we're still in the process of getting Red Zones.
Facts. Piccolo is still at there level which is weird when we consider how op anniversary units were (mui for example.)

The Switch into Goku gt and ssj4 vegeta dies make Sense because in the KO Screen u see dragonballs and with this, Goku Gerd revived. Thats why the spiritbomb is a Revivemechanic
They're really insane defensively. GT duo can tank every event super for reasonable dmg at 55% and the DBZ duo can build up to tank every event as well
The 100% def is multiplicative, so they essentially double their def slot 1
Why would it be multiplicative? It's worded exactly the same as in Vegeta and Trunk's Passive and that's not multiplicative.

@@MrBlackatheist yes but it’s a waste of a revive if u transform just to instantly die. U lose ur revive just to get the bomb where as birdkus revive gives you longevity. You only get it when your about to die not just from full health. Anyways both units are great and are probs both 1 & 2
The Z duo is better than the GT duo. For me it comes down to their standby skills. The Z duo offer two turns of being unkillable, and then drop a monstrous attack. The GT duo only buy you "one turn" of safety, and then they drop a monster attack. Therefore, the insane support the GT duo get means nothing. Imo the GT duo their first and third turn should have been unkillable as well while offering insane support to the whole rotation. Yes, you obviously want to get the spirit bomb, but the Z duo only get the spirit bomb on their third or fifth turn and during those turns they are untouchable. I hope my point is easy to understand lol. These issues are only enhanced by the fact that you can only revive once.

a namek goku & piccolo and the stand by skill could be goku charging the spirit for frieza, while piccolo gohan & krillin stall him
I restarted on jp dokkan and also had the chance to summon on the ssj3 goku and ssj2 vegeta, didn’t get them but i did get god duo, int ssjbe vegeta, and agl fp frieza in one summon, so im happy

Unpopular opinion… but the more I use these units the more I dislike them. They feel like glass cannons the first couple of turns and the Genkidama is not doing that much damage if you don’t crit… I don’t know how to feel, maybe I’m using them wrong!

I think I felt the DBZ unit was better but I am starting to think the GT unit is substantially better
the gt unit is a bit more consistent actually; 50% DR will handle much better hard bosses regardless of type; the revive healing is good and the support on that rotation helps the whole team to do crazy damage, imagine setting up active skills for when you revive; dbz vegeta after switch is epic itself but if the boss attacks 4 times in each slot you'll be caught depending on how defensive other units are; basically gt unit achieve its goals of being a good single tank, healer, team support, firepower but dbz unit does not have a team defense capability at all
Hey truth so, I managed to pull both 8th Anni units within the first rotation sinc the banners went live and I am so bad at team building and I also don't have all the new and powerful units, practically f2p so I try and save my stones for big celebrations and I was wondering since I have both new 8th Anni units can I run a team with both of them in that team and still be a good team with other units I have, Im looking at the teams you made for both units and i have most of them and have to substitute a couple units

SSJ3 Goku and SSJ2 Vegeta is easy to go all out with add cause they stack def and has free crit in passive but the GT units is a lot more complicated. They stack attack but have dmg red, so add gives them potentially more def for their dmg red, or crits with their stack attack.
But then again the Buu Saga Spirit Bomb doesn't have any crit chance and the crit from the SSJ3/SSJ2 form doesn't carry over

That vegeta. it's as he's a walking active skill. he exists for one turn most of the time and he dips. grants the turn immense ki and attack and then throws a nuke at them
