if the parkour civilization gimmick wasn't played completely straight this series wouldn't work. even at the end evbo doesn't even reform society as the champion, he just makes parkour civilization marginally more fair. he knows not of the world that came before him, and cannot imagine outside its bounds. it's hilarious
the fact that they don't reshape the world into something else because they can't imagine anything beyond the scope of what they've already seen is weirdly realistic. this is literally 1984

I don’t understand how I ended up actually watching all of this and liking it unironically. It feels like something I probably would’ve really liked as a kid when Minecraft was booming.
Its like a weird shonen anime and is honestly very well paced despite how stupid it is, him ending up in parkor prison at the start was a really good writing choice too because you know the stakes and because the stakes arent INSTANT death; the viewer doesnt know what will happen with each jump

Bro the battle system is so simple to understand yet can be so complex if truly tested. The risk/reward set up with it makes the battles less one sided. It makes it possible for lower ranked players to perform parkour skills that can stump master ranks. 10/10 battle system.
I view it more as whether or not the opponents themselves are capable of performing said moves. I see it less as “which is OBJECTIVELY harder” but more as “which is harder BETWEEN THE TWO. Although there are some other elements that come into play, like how downward jumps are considered easier. All in all I see it as subjective based on the fighters themselves

My point is that when you build a parkour to use the secret rule, it is somehow objectively determined that the other person's parkour is easier and it automatically disappears. No one actually tries the other person's parkour. So the secret rule can't be a thing, the other stuff works out.

It's not sophisticated, it's a dystopian future very similar to The Maze Runner and other YA fiction that I was reading when I was 12... This is still better than the Minecraft movie but that is not saying much.

I like the detail that the system is set up to keep parkour noobs down; the course to get up to pro level is impossible without breaking the rules by placing a block, they’re fed lesser food that won’t enhance their parkour abilities, and if they’re sent to jail they’re basically doomed to never be able to make it to pro level. Societies like this are usually set up so that everyone on the bottom stays on the bottom. Idk it’s just funny to me that this is actually well written 😭

@Bowtiethesilly2023 It's another Minecraft series that's inspired by the Maze Runner series I believe. It's genuinely really good. It ended around a year or two ago. It's still fire tho
watched it all the way through. maybe its the 14 years of being in different minecraft communities, but this is the most compelling story i think i have ever seen come from a minecraft machinima. everything about this, the dry humor, the total deadpan delivery of the story, the constant narration, this feels like the total culmination of minecraft video story telling. not simply the epitome, but the total sum of the last decade of minecraft culture coming together into this. this is genuinely great, not just content, but art, and i mean that from the bottom of my blocky heart. ❤️

the fact that the parkour master tried the create an utopia which had a 5 tier societal status where: top: himself, the mastermind the masters: control the population, who are the keys to power, who rule all below them. the pros: the producers, who create fine arts and science and technology from the resources provided from the lower levels and the guidence provided from the masters, who provide the economy and the main people who create the exported goods of the civilization. the noobs: who buy and consume, their main use is to repopulate the civilization with the excessive free time on their hands,they provide the population which get assined a role, unlike what it looks like thought, the roles arent decided by parkour, but by the roles decided by a machine from the decisions of a machine, the machine decides which role youre best suited for based on your personality from your birth, and assings you that role, the reason why ranking up is impossible is because if the pros for example became masters, they wouldnt know how to control and rule and the civilizatio would crumble, so its crutial to not allow going up in ranks, however, a master can become a pro because in order to control you must know what youre controlling, and since they know it they can become the producers, thought its not optimal so falling down ranks is highly discouraged. the prison: here goes the unbehavers of parkour civilization, instead of their fates being dependent on parkour like it seems, the supercomputer places a barrier in front of the un-behavers to make them fall, therefore encouraging good behaviours, but if you break the moral and legal laws too much, you shal get sent to the prison where you mine for the ores and recourses that the pro's make into goods and which the noobs consume, and you dont get any benefit because this is the "price" you're paying for breaking those laws. note: its crutial to put the repopulating noobs below the pros who create complex goods and export since if you do it the opposite way it will seem like the pros are working hard only for the noobs who are higher on the societal latter to eat from what the pros harvested, and the pros will undoubtably start a rebelion, but if you put the repopulating population below who create complex goods and fine arts, the pros will see the noobs as a bunch of pigs and uncultured poor villagers just having sex because they cannot even comprehend such pleasures as art and creation, and the noobs will be happy on the bottom when left alone, only consuming and re-populating for their lives, its funny how the "noobs" who are the worst category you can go to without breaking the law (a.k.a.trying to go lower) have the most enjoyable lives, even thought that enjoyment are from pig like activities and simple forms of entertaintment, only consuming food, content such as tv shows created by other civilizations (which are moderated of course) or by the pros and pleasuring each other.

Why is such a silly idea for worldbuilding so well executed? This seems like an actually well done dystopian story, I'm completely immersed and I can't even believe the premise of this video is "haha, what if there was a world where everything is parkour?"
it is a representation of late capitalism with eugenics concepts. earn just the necessary to survive until the next day; try to get to the top, but ironically the people who are at the top were born there; people at the top cheat and are not condemned, but those at the bottom are condemned if they do the same; you try to climb to the top, but a simple mistake makes you lose everything; 16:28 you surrender and accept to work an average job and never try to get to the top again; he clearly could be in the top society, he has talent and tries hard, but that's not enough if you weren't born there, 25:13 even if you are better than the people who were born there; 29:59 people at the top make less effort and earn more rewards, in fact they accumulate capital (food in this case) unnecessarily; 35:56 this is a reference to the bourgeoisie, you never see them frequenting the same places as the lower classes, unlike the petty bourgeoisie (parkour pros); near the end, society enters a cyclical crisis very common in late capitalism, so drastic measures are taken, the parkour noobs no longer receive food, the parkour pros lose several permissions, it's the beginning of a fascist dictatorship

I find it very interesting and realistic how the system itself makes the people in the higher classes inherently aggressive to those lower on the food chain. The wealthy not only oppress the middle-class to do their dirty work, threatening anyone with death should they step out of line, but also themselves by imposing arbitrary restrictions that make their own lives harder, threatening their reputation instead, only to put the rest of the elite down so they can feel superior to those who would dare to deviate from the status quo. Then the the pros' middle class, mimicking the oppression they are personally subjected to onto the noobs, both because they've been conditioned by the system to act like that but also because they are likely to see the lower class as a threat, should they climb up the social ladder to "steal" their position of power or even surpass them and become their oppressors, even though that is realistically nearly impossible. That's just the cycle of oppression capitalism perpetuates, and the to think there is so much depth in this critique makes the fact this whole story is in a video about a Minecraft Parkour Civilization a whole more impressive. Talk about a weird media being used for great storytelling.

Bro the battle system is so simple to understand yet can be so complex if truly tested. The risk/reward set up with it makes the battles less one sided. It makes it possible for lower ranked players to perform parkour skills that can stump master ranks. 10/10 battle system.
Problem is the secret rule does not work. How do you determine whether one challenge is "harder"?
I view it more as whether or not the opponents themselves are capable of performing said moves. I see it less as “which is OBJECTIVELY harder” but more as “which is harder BETWEEN THE TWO. Although there are some other elements that come into play, like how downward jumps are considered easier. All in all I see it as subjective based on the fighters themselves

My point is that when you build a parkour to use the secret rule, it is somehow objectively determined that the other person's parkour is easier and it automatically disappears. No one actually tries the other person's parkour. So the secret rule can't be a thing, the other stuff works out.

I like the detail that the system is set up to keep parkour noobs down; the course to get up to pro level is impossible without breaking the rules by placing a block, they’re fed lesser food that won’t enhance their parkour abilities, and if they’re sent to jail they’re basically doomed to never be able to make it to pro level. Societies like this are usually set up so that everyone on the bottom stays on the bottom. Idk it’s just funny to me that this is actually well written 😭

maybe its the 14 years of being in different minecraft communities, but this is the most compelling story i think i have ever seen come from a minecraft machinima.
everything about this, the dry humor, the total deadpan delivery of the story, the constant narration, this feels like the total culmination of minecraft video story telling. not simply the epitome, but the total sum of the last decade of minecraft culture coming together into this.
this is genuinely great, not just content, but art, and i mean that from the bottom of my blocky heart.

the fact that the parkour master tried the create an utopia which had a 5 tier societal status where:
top: himself, the mastermind
the masters: control the population, who are the keys to power, who rule all below them.
the pros: the producers, who create fine arts and science and technology from the resources provided from the lower levels and the guidence provided from the masters, who provide the economy and the main people who create the exported goods of the civilization.
the noobs: who buy and consume, their main use is to repopulate the civilization with the excessive free time on their hands,they provide the population which get assined a role, unlike what it looks like thought, the roles arent decided by parkour, but by the roles decided by a machine from the decisions of a machine, the machine decides which role youre best suited for based on your personality from your birth, and assings you that role, the reason why ranking up is impossible is because if the pros for example became masters, they wouldnt know how to control and rule and the civilizatio would crumble, so its crutial to not allow going up in ranks, however, a master can become a pro because in order to control you must know what youre controlling, and since they know it they can become the producers, thought its not optimal so falling down ranks is highly discouraged.
the prison: here goes the unbehavers of parkour civilization, instead of their fates being dependent on parkour like it seems, the supercomputer places a barrier in front of the un-behavers to make them fall, therefore encouraging good behaviours, but if you break the moral and legal laws too much, you shal get sent to the prison where you mine for the ores and recourses that the pro's make into goods and which the noobs consume, and you dont get any benefit because this is the "price" you're paying for breaking those laws.
note: its crutial to put the repopulating noobs below the pros who create complex goods and export since if you do it the opposite way it will seem like the pros are working hard only for the noobs who are higher on the societal latter to eat from what the pros harvested, and the pros will undoubtably start a rebelion, but if you put the repopulating population below who create complex goods and fine arts, the pros will see the noobs as a bunch of pigs and uncultured poor villagers just having sex because they cannot even comprehend such pleasures as art and creation, and the noobs will be happy on the bottom when left alone, only consuming and re-populating for their lives, its funny how the "noobs" who are the worst category you can go to without breaking the law (a.k.a.trying to go lower) have the most enjoyable lives, even thought that enjoyment are from pig like activities and simple forms of entertaintment, only consuming food, content such as tv shows created by other civilizations (which are moderated of course) or by the pros and pleasuring each other.

I find it very interesting and realistic how the system itself makes the people in the higher classes inherently aggressive to those lower on the food chain. The wealthy not only oppress the middle-class to do their dirty work, threatening anyone with death should they step out of line, but also themselves by imposing arbitrary restrictions that make their own lives harder, threatening their reputation instead, only to put the rest of the elite down so they can feel superior to those who would dare to deviate from the status quo. Then the the pros' middle class, mimicking the oppression they are personally subjected to onto the noobs, both because they've been conditioned by the system to act like that but also because they are likely to see the lower class as a threat, should they climb up the social ladder to "steal" their position of power or even surpass them and become their oppressors, even though that is realistically nearly impossible.
