France has just tested the V-MAX Hypersonic Glide Vehicle prototype, it's a distinct project from the AS4NG. As of right now, there seems to be 3 separate projects:
    - AS4NG (nuclear hypersonic missile).
    - VMAX (demonstrator for HGVs for ICBMs).
    - FC/ASW (of which I recall there are plans for hypersonic missiles).
There is also the Espadon project for an hypersonic fighter jet / interceptor.

Espadon is just preliminary work for the 2070-2080 geostrategic environment.
And it s a scary world, to be honest, the end of the century. The requirements for the weapon left me speechless.
Now is not the time to worry, though.

Ordinarily, Indians don't really think much about Pakistan, as most Indians don't live anywhere near Pakistan (India is a huge country). However, most Pakistanis live within 100 miles of India, and so the Pakistan Army uses propaganda about an "Indian Threat" to keep control of Pakistani politics. There used to be a rivalry until the 90's, when India started booming and left Pakistan behind. Now, India resents being linked to Pakistan internationally, and Pakistan resents India's relative economic success. It's complicated - best to Google it.

A correction regarding India's scramjet. The HSTDV is not the basis for India's space launch vehicle program. There are actually 2 different agencies working on 3 different scramjets. HSTDV is a hydrocarbon fueled scramjet developed by Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) - a governmental weapons and military tech developer. HSTDV was a technology demonstrator and has been declared as completed and retired. DRDO is now working on weaponizing it.
The scramjet for India's space vehicle is developed by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) - another government agency somewhat analogous to ESA. Their scramjet was powered by (compressed?) hydrogen. That was a success and has been retired too. ISRO is also reportedly working on another scramjet powered by hydrocarbons.
Now about the hypersonic glide vechicles. There are multiple ones under DRDO and one by a private company. One of DRDO's glider, designed to attack ships at 1500km ranges, has been tested already (about 1 year after this video was published). Others meant for strategic purposes are reportedly nearing completion at this point. ISRO has hypersonic gliders too. But that's more similar to the space shuttle or X-37, than any weapons gliders. They are designed to decelerate to a stop on a runway. And they might eventually get attached with ISRO's scramjets I mentioned before.

    HYPERSONIC LETHALITY BY ORDER:
(1).Scramjet: Scramjet represent the most advanced type of hypersonic missile. Notable examples include Russian Zircon and the underdevelopment American HACM, which is expected to surpass the capabilities of Zircon due to compact size & airlauched capability.
(2).Boost Glide Vehicle: This type of hypersonic missile is less accurate when it comes to hitting targets compared to scramjet missiles. They typically fly at high altitudes, making them susceptible to detection by radar and space-based infrared sensors. Examples include tChinese DF-ZF, Russian Avangard, and tAmerican LRHW, which is planned for deployment in 2023.
(3).Hypersonic Ballistic: Hypersonic ballistic missiles are considered the least advanced among the three types. They lack the high maneuverability of scramjet and boost glide vehicles, making them vulnerable to interception by defense systems. Many people do not consider them true hypersonic missiles. Examples include Russian Kinzhal, Iranian Fatah, and Chinese DF-21.

Another way of evaluating which is the most lethal is to look at which missiles are operational (or at what stage of development), which hypersonuc capabilities have actually been observed, and the extent of possible destruction. I would suggest then the most lethal would be the reverse of the list here.

@@tluangasailo3663 agreed. But thinking differently in terms of cost as a lethality component (and not to be argumentative, just curious), what do you think about the high cost of hypersonic cruise missiles (I’ve seen $100 million/missile) versus lost-cost (non-maneuvering) ballistic missiles? At what price point does an attacker get a more lethal attack (more bang for the buck:-)? Would there be a better benefit/cost ratio against a target to use multiple ballistic missile saturating the defenses to get one or more missile through or better to use a single hypersonic cruise missile guaranteed able to defeat the defense? Is there a cost factor that argues for or against development/deployment of hypersonic cruise missiles? Wondering what your thoughts are. Thanks.

@@vanguard9067 The cost of 100 million is only during the developmental stage. Once it enters production, the process becomes more streamlined, resulting in a significant reduction in costs. In fact, the production cost eventually couod decreases to less than 20 million...For example, the underdevelopment US HACM will even utilize 3D printing, further reducing its production costs.

Honestly your coverage of Indian hypersonic weapons was like a Wikipedia readout, I really expected more from you.
    1. It would be wrong to consider shaurya a hypersonic missile, shaurya is a quasi ballistic missile with a depressed trajectory like the iskander. If you consider Iskander a hypersonic missile then yes you can consider shaurya a hypersonic missile.
However from my POV both missiles are using the term hypersonic just for marketing purposes.
    2. HSTDV is the real deal, hstdv as of now is an unarmed hypersonic cruise missile and can be armed today if the need be.
In the 2019 test HSTDV was carried by an Agni 1 booster at the desired altitude and HSTDV showcased mach 6 hypersonic flight for 30 seconds (I am not sure about the duration).
As of Right now DRDO is working on improving the quality of exotic materials used in HSTDV so that it can sustain its flight for a longer duration and at a lower altitude.
If you ask me Indian research on hypersonic cruise missiles is in the same league as the US, China and Russia.
India intends to use it's hypersonic cruise missile as a carrier killer against Chinese carrier battle groups in the Indian Ocean.
    3. Indian space research organisation (ISRO) also has its own independent hypersonic research going on under project Vishnu and HAVA (hava literally means air) for potential application in space launch vehicles.
    4. the HGV you talked about is non existent as it was just a proposal from a private company to the Indian government, but as per my knowledge they did not get any funding to pursue the project as they were a newly formed company with no prior experience in anything hypersonic and the government did not believe they could achieve what they were claiming.
However If you want to delve into the realm of conspiracy then we might see a HGV in the next 5 years as DRDO is secretly working on a HGV to mount on a modified Agni prime missile.
    5. Brahmos 2 is most probably a dead project. Before the Ukraine war the terms were way too unfavourable for India to invest in brahmos 2 (Russians were denying us the knowledge of the exotic materials that go into the engine and were insisting that we import those materials directly from them), but now after the Ukraine war Russia is ready to bend over backwards because they now need money, so now there is a renewed interest in the Indian government as the Russians are ready to entertain any of our request, however I still do not think brahmos 2 project will ever get executed, at best we might outright buy the Russian research on the exotic materials that go into these hypersonic vehicles but that's it we will never go past that as our own hstdv program is progressing well.

One shouldn't be surprised if a Russian technology transfer has accompanied the delivery of an entire regiment of Sukhoi SU-35 air superiority fighters - answering the question what the 'Oghab 44' subterranean airbase was built for...

I haven't understood the meaning of the first part of the sentence Your, but we agree on the second part.
The decissive factor is the decline of US influence and capability - if the US can't sustain to supply Israel in another major conflict like Yom Kippur (1973), it wouldn't make sense for Israel to align with the US.
If Israel were to become a member of the SCO e.g. it could hope to gain Gaza and the Westbank through diplomacy and to legitimize it's factual control e.g. in a federal system.
It will be hard to accept for the Palestinians from whom the land was taken in 1948, but if they were offered citizenship and secular Zionism was curbed back, the 'Oriental Question' after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire can normalize - it is arguably the Westernizing influence toward ethnic nationstates that destabilizes the region.

Well india has brahmos, brahmos ng & brahmos x which did reach mach 5+ in test it is nothing but using its ramjet to power upto highest speed possible as ramjet are inefficient at speeds above mach 3 but still this is being tested and brahmos II is also there (scramjet)
NOW APART FROM THIS WORK on hypersonic technology demonstrater vehicle (hstdv) began some years before brahmos which is one of its kind scramjet engine after russians it succeeded its all 3 tests its air breathing cruize missile just like brahmos ..so far only propulsion system is being tested not the actual missile who has to hit a target 🎯.
AFTER THIS WE HAVE SFDR - solid fuel ducted ramjet . Well it is indias meteor missile as indias astra series missile is grand succes as the first astra mk1 with 110km and normal propulsion the mk2 was with dual pulse which has 160km range both reaching mach4.5 and this above mentioned sfdr propulsion tech is astra mk3 which will posses 350km range and a kill zone upto 120km.it has more range than mbda meteor and india has a very good tech of ramjet from brahmos experience which must have helped this. This missiles carry there energy upto very long distance even till end of its range .unlike roacket propulsion which uses all energy at once completely then just munuevring toward target with gained kinetic energy rockets are not throtelable, and mk2 uses dual pulse which solves this problem but mk3 is way ahead of it as it breaths air from atmosphere and doesnt carry oxidisers with it it has longest range its ramjet and it achieves close to mach5 ramjet cant achieve hypersonic..all three are very capable has indian seeker , This missile will have speeds mach 4.5. The first test of sfdr failed to engnite but after that it succeeded all tests and did achieve the goals however it was just propulsion tests no target was intended to hit that to was test from ground launch .as it will be equipped with already existing astra tech only..
However india is already in hypersonic elite club but those missile will take some time to come in service india does have a quasi ballistic missile rudram -2 which reached mach 5.5 its anti radar missile its just like indian iskandar or kinzal
