Poor Chaudury, I know how he feels. He needs somg minty gum to rid that taste from his mouth. I dislike shrimp, too. Turns out I'm allergic to shellfish. Found out after an anaphylactic event.

@@marlboro_19 Sometimes the allergies can sneak up on you. We grew up eating all kinds of seafood and shellfish, but when my sister hit her mid 40s she started to get weird reactions after eating our regular seafood dishes. It wasn't until she broke out in hives just handling a bag of shrimp she figured out it had been a developing allergy. Now it's so bad she can't even be in the same room as shellfish, and has to have all her medications and supplements screened because a lot use shellfish derivatives.

@@nicksweeney5176 I don’t eat any fish at all. I haven’t since I was a small child. I was made to eat fish at school (in the early 60s when children had to eat everything put on their plates) and it made me physically sick. Thank goodness I had kind parents who never forced it on me. 😊

It's great to see the doc back! I love all these guys but it's like the Beatles,you can't and don't replace any of them. They are the perfect recipe, blend or mix. They're just so likeable ,I can't explain it but I think no matter what language, religion or culture when someone is genuine and humble,how can you not love and respect them..add in great senses of humor and you have an unforgettable group of people!!

In all honesty, I don't think it has anything to do with the taste of shrimp for him. It's been a while, but I think it comes from the first time they served them a shrimp dish. (I think it was fried shrimp) Chaudhary actually liked it at first but he just couldn't quite figure out what kind of creature it was that he was eating and he kept asking questions about it.
Well... they showed him a picture of a whole shrimp with head, shell, swimmers and tail intact and he just about had a heart attack! He got this look of sheer terror on his face and said something like "You're feeding me insects??" Then he pushed the plate away and spit what he had left in his mouth into a napkin! 😳 He's turned up his nose to any shrimp dish they've served since.
The canned tuna was a fail for all of them and I can't say that I blame them. They were each given an open can of chunk light tuna packed in oil and a fork. 👀 I don't think it was even drained! I would have given that a big thumbs down myself! 🤢
@@bobbiejojackson9448 Good point. I've eaten tuna out of a can with toast, but tuna salad with mayo, etc would have been much better. My grandmother (from Italy) also called lobster and shrimp insects. I don't think they're wrong.
@golf-n-guns Technically speaking, both insects and crustaceans are known as arthropods, BUT here's the weird part... even though they belong to the same genus or family, crustaceans are not insects and insects are not crustaceans. Strange, eh? I guess you could say they both share common ancestors. lol
I really enjoy canned tuna in a salad form on sandwiches, just as you described with mayo, celery onion, etc. or even in a macaroni salad or tuna pasta salad. We're very picky about canned tuna though. It's got to be a solid albacore, packed in water or it's a no-go. haha
It's kinda cool that you brought up your Italian grandma too, because there's one exception to our albacore snobbery. I do sometimes buy imported Italian tuna packed in olive oil (I drain and rinse it) to make a Nicoise salad. If you're not familiar with it, it's a green salad base with hard boiled egg, cubed potatoes (or potato salad), Nicoise olives, tomato wedges, thin green beans, tuna and capers, that's dressed with a lemon and shallot vinaigrette. 🥗
It's not as difficult as it sounds, especially if you have some of the more time consuming toppings ready to go ahead of time or left over from a previous meal. It makes a wonderful light Summer supper! 😊

I'm guessing it's the seafood flavour. In Chinese we call it "腥味". It's the smell of animal produce that is not extremely fresh, often used to describe the smell of fish, goat milk, and wild game. Many people who are averse to seafood don't actually hate the seafood but this smell, as truly fresh seafood is hard to come by, especially for people living inland. I have friends who have this issue come in contact with very fresh shrimp and find it surprisingly acceptable.

It may be the worlds most expensive, but it's not the best tasting. That comes straight off the boat! We'd catch them, bring them back to dock, sell most, and have a cookout right there on the boat. You haven't tasted seafood until you've had it fresh! I still wouldn't mind trying this dish though! I admire Chaudhary for his honesty. He didn't care for it, and that's OK. It's not everyone's cup of tea, so to speak.
Have they ever had a good Shark Steak, or Mahi Mahi? That would be fun to see their reactions to that. I'd still like to see them try Alligator Bites too! Oh, and you have to show them a Shark or Alligator too.
Alligator is bland. Not a fan.
I've had shark several times it is the best ocean fish to me.

I live by the gulf in New Orleans and the lake is only a few blocks from my house. I live on seafood mostly since I’m not crazy about red meat. Shrimp, catfish and oysters are my favorite. If the shrimp don’t smell right, then it’s not good. Don’t eat it.
It is the same rule for all seafood, if you can smell it, it isn't fresh and if is doesn't smell right, don't eat it. Fresh seafood has no smell to it.

blackened catfish, softshell crab poboy, mudbug boil, gator tail, GREAT seafood in La, I'd say personally, even better than New England seafood, because of the creole and cajun influence.

Since I am not familiar with this dish I have no idea what the sauce was on top of it and nobody told them what it was either apparently. I guess they just want us to guess
You can Google how to make the sauce. It’s basically just mayonnaise with some Sriracha chili sauce mixed in it. I’m sure there’s a variety of different recipes for it but that’s basically what it is. The shrimp is like breaded and fried I believe and then you mix the two together meaning the cooked shrimp and the sauce. I live in the United States and you can buy this already made in a box in the frozen section of the grocery store. I eat It with Rice or quinoa

thinking by it being yellow, they may use saffron in it, which is quite pricey.

I don't know how far in land they are. Where they are. But I do know that Seafood is always best served Fresh.
The closer you are too the sea, with the less time spent. Between the seafood still being alive, and the time it is prepared & served. The better.
In my opinion the less ingredients used in seafood dishes the better. Keep it simple and lite. Grill it with butter, some garlic/salt & maybe a lil pepper. And some lemon or lime juice.
But let the seafood speak for itself.
Interesting that they eat something particular when it rains... More in tune with nature maybe...

Shrimp is on of those thigs that has to be eaten when it is fresh. If you have only eaten shrimp that has been frozen, then you have not tried shrimp at its best. Fresh shrimp almost has no smell and taste totally different.

Gul Sher looks important in his fancy turban. I laugh at Chaurdhury because my son is the same way. He does not like seafood and has hated it since he was little. I am not sure why. I learned my lesson a long time agon about making him take a bite of any kind of food he says he does not like. I once made him take a taste of cottage cheese with fruit and he proceeded to puke right there at the dinner table. Nobody wanted to eat after that.
I'm with Mr. Chaudry; I don't like seafood. It's the fishy smell and taste that turns me off.
Oh man you have no idea how much I've been enjoying watching these videos lately . I was rushed to the hospital last Saturday and had to have emergency gall bladder removal surgery and have been home recovering since.

But we don't know that what he was smelling was actually the shrimp itself...it could have been the ingredients used to finish off the dish, I'm talking specifically the sauce itself...we don't know, and he didn't say specifically what the problem was, other than an unpleasant odor!!!

I live in a fishing town in England ....Our fishing fleet Trawls prawns, Brown shrimps and Cockles....And I can't eat any of them!! Love fish though!! ❤️
Why not do a segment where they fly to New York, or a place in the West for a week and do episodes of them experiencing life, like going to the movies or to a baseball game, zoo, etc... I would love seeing something like that.

This isn't the world's most expensive shrimp dish at all. Not even close. This is from PF Chang's and is only $14 US. They even have a few other shrimp dishes on their menu that are more expensive than this. My own restaurant sells a similar dish that is more expensive by $2. And even that doesn't come close to the world's most expensive shrimp dishes, which are MANY MANY times more expensive than this. Whoever is doing your research should be replaced.

It’s a prawn cocktail, popular as a starter (entree in US) in the uk 🇬🇧 lol
From reading other comments I think this is a bit different from a good old prawn cocktail. Apparently the prawns are breaded and fried, then mixed with a spicy sriracha sauce. Not how we have prawn cocktail in the UK. We used non breaded prawns in a Marie Rose sauce. Looks like they’ve nicked our idea and pimped it up!!!

It's not legal in Pakistan, but the laws against it aren't really enforced there since the consumption is part of the culture and they prioritize hard drug law enforcement instead.
