I still dont have one either. It's like a smaller convection oven. If you have a oven, you don't need one lol. Now a deep fryer, that is something I might get.
@@timbo11 Now I don’t have to heat the whole apartment for 2 chicken thighs or a handful of fries … so I guess I DID need it. (It is also much easier to clean)
@@rachel-in-the-208 This is the only reason I can see having one. My wife uses it all the time to make small portions of stuff, but I can’t taste any difference with anything.
@@timbo11 It's just two of us in my place. I didn't understand the purpose of an airfryer. But.... when I saw someone used it at a dinner I did purchase one. Now my oven is storage. The airfryer is easy to use. Less time to heat and the food tates good. I actually made a frozen steak with my Ninja foodie Grill. It was amazing. I couldn't believe it.

Love this. They reacted just like the rest of us. "It can do what now? No way. .... (10 mins later) WOW!!" Our air fryer is beloved about as much as our pets

@@PozzaPizz same, i made st louis pork ribs in my huge air fryer and was incredibly impressed. definitely cooks ribs better than a regular large oven because of how close of a sear it gets to the coil in an air fryer. My mom and homies were shocked it was made in an air fryer lol
This was my same reaction when I bought mine and made perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs in it...lol

I absolutely love this channel. The pure joy on their faces says it all. It also makes me more appreciative of the things we have at our fingertips vs others. I can't wait to see what they enjoy next

These guys have just done something I've never done. I've never seen one of these and I'm in the USA! (I'm retired in a small mountain town, and rarely get to the cities anymore.)

I got my Emeril Lagasse air fryer as a gift last year. Its a round one with a round digital area for temps and cook times. A good sized basket.

I spray Pam Olive oil on the lil removable tray ...put frozen Gortons fish filets in mine.
Spray the fish a lil bit with olive oil. Cook it on 370° for 8 minutes.
Then flip the pieces of fish over. Spray again with olive oil.
Cook for another 5-8 minutes and they're done.
I also will cook frozen breaded mozzarella sticks in mine. Frozen jalapeno poppers, breaded onion rings...mushrooms... Yum!
I always spray the pan BUT foods sometimes sticks anyways....lol.
I put about 8 in the air fryer...spray the olive oil on...cook them at 350° to 370° for 8 minutes. Halfway through I stop it.....open it. Shake the mozzarella sticks to move them around...shuffle them up....same for french fries or potatoes and onions Im cooking to help them cook even.
Its a great convenient way to cook without heating up your kitchen.
*The ONLY thing I don't like about it is that the power cord does tend to get hot....*
No matter which outlet I use in my kitchen. But its on the counter and Im right there.
I never leave things and walk away unless Im microwaving something.
I love mine... My 18 yr old, he loves it for frozen chicken nuggets... Frying fresh chicken breasts and beef... AWESOME for frozen Brussels sprouts....so delish!! Even a bag of frozen stir fry veggies...
Oh... Made breaded pork chops and they turned out great.

You almost can, very low dehydrate temp can do it.
As long as it can run at 37.5C then it should work yes, but I wouldn’t risk it on good eggs
Just watched my 4 favorite Pakistani gentlemen air fry French fries and eat them.
Better then most things on tv these days.

Air fryer is a good example of a successful branding effort. Take a convection oven that has been around for ages, and make it portable. Then rather than call it a portable convection oven, call it an air fryer and brand it as a new appliance. Whatever the case, so long as people find it useful, that is all that matters.

AN OVEN. Like exactly your big one under your stove....except small.
You can cook a small roast, bake bread, or anything else that goes in a big oven.

Exactly! It's a convection oven, not a fryer.
they are slightly different in the fact that air fryers tent to circulate the air MUCH more than your typical convection oven resulting in even faster cooking.
@I Convection ovens are not regular ovens. As the name implies, it provides air flow (aka convection) within a heated area. That is the whole point of a convection oven and they have existed since the 80's.
I live in BC Canada and just got my air fryer about 12 months ago I was just as amazed it literally blew my mind 😆😂 I used it last night to cook my family barbecue chicken pizza! Was sooooo goooos

I'm old enough to remember having this kind of reaction when I saw my first microwave oven "way back" in the late 60s/early 70s in a department store when they were still uncommon and expensive. In the mid-80s, my Mom came by to visit my sister and saw her microwave for the first time. Mom went out and bought one for herself the next day!
Same here. If you’re in the US as I am you may also remember having only 3 channels on TV and they went off the air at midnight or something.
AND we actually had to get up and walk allllllll the way over to the television if we wanted to change the channel or volume!

At 79 the first " miracle " in food that i experienced was the creation of the T.V. dinner. A few minutes in the oven for a complete meal. It was revolutionary in that time, the fifties.
When I was a kid there were four channels. The three networks plus public access.

I also remember Home Box Office became available where I lived in 1975. They showed a Robert Klein stand-up special and a movie called "At Long Last Love" and not much else. LOL
There is a marketing genius behind this product placement, this was so clever I am really impressed!
To be fair, I live in the USA and have never tried using an air fryer, so these guys are ahead of me!
They are convenient and do cook food but they're actually a convection oven and not a "fryer". Still very handy though. If they would put the fries in a bowl, add some oil and toss it with their hands and add a sprinkle of salt before cooking them, they would come out much closer to real fries. 🤩
I agree. I feel bad that they didn't add a LITTLE oil.
I imagine if they marketed it as an "air baker" instead of fryer, Americans wouldn't buy it. 🤣
The chips just looked anemic. Way too pale. A light spray of oil helps them go golden and really crisps them up. That’s how most people would cook chips in an air fryer.

I cook everything in mine. Chicken, steak, breaded seafood is great so are chicken wings. Also it’s great because I don’t have to turn on the stove or oven in the summer time, which makes the kitchen hot.
How do they taste? I nearly bought one the other day but couldn't really afford it but going to when I get paid. Does the meat taste a lot nicer than being done on a normal cooker? I still can't wrap my head around the fact you can cook meat in there without oil haha
@@Katie-rx8ql yep. Comes out great. I even do fried shrimp and fish. I use fresh and bread it myself. Steaks, salmon and catfish( I’m southern from New Orleans so do a lot of seafood), fried chicken, all great. You can even buy shake n bake for air frying in stores. Best advice, read instructions for YOUR fryer. Different ones have different times and temps to cook stuff. If you do fries or something like that, shake basket half way through. You can use parchment paper in it, but need to poke holes in bottom for air to circulate. They sell paper for air fryers online with the holes already in them. It’s a learning process for cooking stuff in it since lots of recipes for them are general times and temps. You will need to adjust to your model by trial and error. Lots of great air fryer recipes on Pinterest. Don’t be scared to use it. Important!!! Don’t put against anything while on. Heat circulation is in the back and will melt stuff. Don’t use on counter. I put a wooden cutting board under it. Need to be about 6” from wall so heat circulates and you don’t melt anything behind it. Read instructions!!!
@@Katie-rx8ql I do spray a tiny bit of Pam cooking spray when I'm making things that I want an extra crispy outer layer. Especially on perogies. But very very little spray. Just a touch.
On many other foods, no oil is needed for crispness. It's an amazing and useful kitchen item.

I got the large round one on Christmas for College, and it is one of the most convenient cooking inventions in the world.
I cook everything at 400°F because it's faster. And it's easy to clean and maintain! 😇

@Badatallthis Stuff it can cook anything. No oil needed. There is parchment paper liners that you can put in there so nothing falls through the cracks. The pull out basket is dishwasher safe.

I have one, more like an oven though, with racks in it.----Really great--- I cook Hamburger and fish in it and dont have to stand over a sputtering frying pan. I use it for anything I want to fry. I see they realize the food is healthier without the oil ----AND it can save THAT cost.

I was doubting the power of an airfryer myself, until I got one for my birthday about 2 years ago... by now my stove rarely ever sees use anymore, life becomes easier with that thing.

Only had an air fryer ourselves for 18 months, it is a indeed a great bit of kit.
one of THE BEST ways to cook chicken there is! Cooks all of the grease out of it, and it's easy to get the skin nice and crispy!

Please tell me that each of these men were able to take home an air fryer! So much healthier to not fry in fat or oil. I love the taste of cabbage, potatoes, etc fried in bacon grease, but it's a rare treat just because I know it's not healthy.

I think one of them just purchased (or was looking to purchase) a new washer so they have electricity AND indoor plumbing. They may be poor, but they aren't third world. Not being up to date with the western world isn't necessarily a bad thing.
I didn't think I would ever use one but I bought it anyway last year. I use it every week.
I have been a guest at my aunt's home for dinner, and she uses an air fryer. She has one with two compartments, so you can cook two things at the same time at separate temperatures, and the meals she makes in that machine are deeeelicious!
my wife got me a air fryer for christmas. i use that thing 3-5 times per week. it is my absolute favorite thing in the kitchen. aside from my cappuccino machine. which i will kill to protect :)
Was thinking of getting one after watching this video I will buy one, it’s true what the gentleman said about the fryer using less oil as you can spray oil on it instead, as oil in food can be fatty and cause damage to your body parts.

I've always loved fried food since I was a kid and I still fry in oil to this day. About 20yrs. ago my mother-in-law (GOD rest her soul) bought me an air fryer for my birthday because she said I was getting fat lol. I used it a few times but you can't cook things like catfish and hush puppies without lots of oil. She was right tho because I did get fat lmao.
Spray the food with oil beforehand or dip in breading. Turns out great.

My husband and I broke down and finally bought an air fryer last year, and we love it. We've made homemade sweet potato fries in the air fryer, and they turned out perfect.
My sister got one for her baby shower. I tried to use it to fry pizza and chicken 🍗 boy was I suprised how well it worked and how fast and simple it was
I especially enjoyed Gul Sh expressions. It is an amazing piece of kitchen equipment. I love mine

I have the Power XL from copper chef on QVC about 3 years ago for $99. Mine has wired trays as well as the pull out basket, rotisserie. and a tubular basket that goes around. They are nice and less heat in the kitchen.
They used air fryer before I did and I keep telling myself I’ll get one. Maybe this time I’ll get it😂
