    Having a rev counter is a big improvement because we can see which part of the rev range you are comparing in each gear for the different power demands, road conditions, and the viewer gets to "feel" and hear what it is like to ride. Nicely done, thank you.

    Thank you very much ..great video. I have the DNA filter and the enfield presition exhaust on me HNTR 350.
    I reset ecu after the filter instalation because i have the feeling of poor fuel mixture much more less engine brake on when closing throtle.
    After the Ecu reset the bike works again fine .and with the exhaust get couple of HP in low med RPM plus much easier breath at high.On trafic was like a ..KTM DUKE ..nervus if u drive it agresive.On the Open roads and Highways the engine goes fast at 110-120 KM but i have the feeling that if i want a long trip i must drive around 90-100 km with no engine stress.
    Today i change to 16 tooth front..The bike is almost what i dream ..PLus 10-15 km at same RPM above 90.
    So i can travel with 110 [70 miles] i believe all day with the engine relaxed..120 if no oposit ewind are very easy and can also keep foe long periods.
    Keep in mind that115-120 is Much more on other motorcycles speedometer because the hunder have much more accurate speedometer.
    When i have 100 km other bikes show 115-120 km ..
    Problems?? yes..with strong wind uphill and 5th gear the engine stays at around 100 KM /hour..but again its more than the 90 that i woulkd normally travel.
    I believe that if i add the camshaft and get 1-2 more HP the project will be finishid..
    Finally i am 57 years old owner of 56 motorcycles in my life..last ones Honda VTR 1000 SP 1 Suzuki Hayabusha GEN 2..
    Again many thanks..U give me back the smille that i lost when driving a motorcycle with all your tips and upgrades

    The Hunter 350 in my view is one of the most beautiful bikes ever made, the proportions are just RIGHT. I didnt buy 1 due to my locality, I chose a Scram for these roads. This review with a bum on the seat was far superior to power curves and charts, much appreciated. I would love to hear your views "back 2 back" of the hunter V`s the Scram characteristics.

    Hi Dave, great video as usual and useful information. I already have the Classic 350 and the Meteor 350 but am tempted to swap my Auto Scooter for a Hunter 350. Love the naked uncomplicated stripped back look of the bike.
    A couple of points, I'm a 6 footer with a 32" inside leg, I've had a test ride on the Hunter and yes it's a small bike - but didn't feel uncomfortable on the hour or so test ride I had on the bike but would like some feedback of what the level of comfort is like on longer journeys, say 150 mile days?🤔 How tall are you if you don't mind me asking?
    Secondly, by fitting the 16 tooth sprocket did it have any noticeable difference with acceleration particularly as its now effectively taller geared? Thanks for any advice you can help with.🙂👍

    • @MerciaMoto
      @MerciaMoto  2 месяца назад +4

      @@jonathandeeley6276 hello Jonathan thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I’m 5’7 29” inside leg so a bit on the short side. However my friend Paul who you will see on a lot of the videos who also has a Hunter is 6’2 32” inside leg like yourself loves his Hunter and finds it really comfortable over long distances. We took the Hunters on Tour to Norfolk beginning of July and were clocking up 150 - 200 miles every day and neither of us experienced any discomfort issues. We both have the signature Bench seat (Hitchcocks) fitted to the bikes which raises you slightly.
      Regarding the 16T sprocket and acceleration, first gear seems noticeably longer before needing to change up, I wouldn’t say it’s quicker of the mark but it is much smoother and less laboured. 2nd to fourth are longer too and I’m finding I can stay in fourth for longer before needing to change up which has made 5th gear feel much more of an overdrive gear, I haven’t noticed any loss in power in fifth gear either. During the test it was running very comfortably at 70mph and still had more to give. I was out on my Scram 411 yesterday which is thoroughly run and I thought to myself that the Hunter now feels faster and more responsive.
      Hope this helps to answer your question? 👍🏻😀

    Thanks, me old beauty! finally got round to putting the 16 tooth on my Hunter, I was sceptical that it wouldn't pull the higher gearing as I live in hilly Devon .but this video put my mind at rest. 1st and 2nd gear are quite short with the 15t sprocket, it still hits the rev limiter easily , with DNA kit, fuel X pro plus and Delkevic exhaust system, do you know if the later throttle body has the rev limiter removed?, as I think another thousand revs would help as I am on the fence about fitting the stage 2 cam as it will keep hitting the rev limiter , and yes I know its a long stroke motor but it feels that it could rev more without throwing a big end.,And no, I don't ride it like a two stroke !

    • @MerciaMoto
      @MerciaMoto  Месяц назад +1

      Hiya Steve, it’s definitely a worthwhile mod, in my view, my mate Paul (also has 16T mod)and myself have found we’re not needing to change into 5ths gear as often now 4th is really usable. I believe, stand to be corrected that the older 350 meteor throttle bodies don’t have the rev limiter fitted and can be retrofitted to the Hunter? Might be worth a bit of research to see if this is correct. Might be worth checking out Volcanic Brown, Norfolk Thunderbolt and Coast Rider Scotland who have a lot of knowledge in respect of the J Series engine. Thanks a million for watching and leaving a comment 😀👍🏻

    Reminds me of my demo ride just did on the 350 classic.
    (Is it the same engine?) Think my Himalayan is high geared, 3rd is a bit pointless have found. (I still think my 2nd gear isnt right, i.e wants to stall out on turns a bit)
    However used 3rd gear a lot more green laning etc.
    After riding the classic I'd love a similar smoothness on my Himalayan but that said I did struggle keeping up with the Inteceptors ahead of me and def noticed the diff going up a hill. (The Himalayan pulls quite well I found even with my weight and full load).
    There's another demo ride I think sept so will try the Interceptor or Sup Meteor.

    Hello there. How do you find the bike compered to the scram? I have thoughts about both bikes... Yes, the scram suspension will be better on bad road, but I am asking mainly as seating position comfort.

    • @MerciaMoto
      @MerciaMoto  2 месяца назад +1

      Hello Stafan, the only thing comparable with the Hunter and Scram is the power where they are very closely matched. In terms of comfort I am 5’7” tall and I am on top toes on the scram whereas I flat foot the Hunter. I am comfortable on both bikes. I am happy to take the Hunter on narrow back lanes but would not take it on anything remotely off road. It copes well on those types of lanes. The Scram is more versatile and is well suited to a little light of roading. Hope this answers your question? 👍🏻😀

    Great review. 70 mph on 5000 revs. Can you remember what revs it was on at 70mph before the modification because i don't have a Rev Counter on mine. Also, i think the speedometer works off the front wheel so changing the gearing won't affect the accuracy of it. Is that true?
