I have since installed a chain that has a couple of extra links. The original chain has to be quite stretched for it to fit the larger 16t sprocket. It is more correct to use a chain that is marginally larger so I installed a D.I.D chain so that the tension on the chain can be (more) correctly adjusted.

Greetings from Cape Canaveral! I just purchased Scram 411 and this is exactly the kind of info I’m looking to find out. Florida is very flat and hot. I got the Scram because I felt that like it was a grown up version of a trail 90 or a TW that could keep up in traffic when necessary. The bike has no problem in traffic but I’ve felt like is was wound up pretty good. I’m planning on this mod but wasn’t sure what size tooth sprocket to use. Good video! Please keep them coming!

Sorry, You are Wrong about the Chain? You can change the cog straight away when the bike is new if you want? Don't know where you got that idea from,that you have to wait for the chain to stretch? The rubber on the original cog isn't for balancing? It's meant to quiet the chain, But I shouldn't worry about not having rubber on the new one, It's 140 Newton Metres torque setting for the 30mm cog, and 70 Newton Metres torque setting for the rear axle bolt nut, I've done it for my Hunter 350 and Interceptor 650 Well worth doing 👍 Cheers Paul

I didn't notice any bottom end /acceleration change. If anything, because it seems to have 'longer legs' it feels like it gets up to speed quicker in the crucial gears (2/3rd gears) when pulling into flowing traffic.
Is there a specific reason the sprocket goes on the way it's shown here?I installed mine but it had grooves on the inside so now I'm wondering do I need to flip it!
Good question. For this particular brand, installing with the flat section on the inside provides the correct alignment to the chain and rear sprocket on the himalayan. Other brands may be different, you may need to read the manufacturers instructions if your brand is not the same as the one in the video.
@@Unfastened well I got in touch with them to ask, excellent customer service if not a bit confusing,but yes flat side to face inwards even though it's symmetrical ,it used to be that any identifying markings face out but in this case they were stamped on the flat side,so lots of back and forth,flat in recess out 💥

Yeah so 100km/h on the highway in last gear. 500rpm lower than the 15 tooth sprocket. tested and proven. They should have put the 16t front sprocket on from the factory, really.

300 rpm difference with one tooth more on the front, going the wrong way for sure
madness. it needs all the torque it can get. You went the wrong way.
