    Picked up one of these for a fiver in a charity shop and it started my fascination with the beauty of watch engineering.
    I have changed the bracelet to a calf leather strap now which I prefer.

    Great watch mate , i just bought myself one as well. Got it for 325 euro. Pretty expensive but is in very good condition. I got the J version with the 21 jewels dial.

      They are great watches, and going up in value. Enjoy your new pick up. I'm planning a movement upgrade so stay tuned for a video on that soon.

    I bought that watch about 10 years ago just because I liked how it looked. I did not have a clue about seiko and all the different models. Fast forward to about 3 years ago when I stumbled on to The Urban Gentry’s channel and a whole new world of watch collecting opened up for me. I always assumed that the 031 I bought was some sort of fake until I did some research and discovered that mine was just a discontinued model that I just happened to find at an old watch shop in Miami. Thank you for your video. It only reaffirms that I made a good choice all those years ago. Speaking of good choices.... I love your Lorier. I missed out on their first two releases of the Neptune V-1. Then they changed to the V-2 and I prefer the .V-1. I met them at a watch show in New York last year and begged them to reissue the V-1 again. Lauren seemed to possibly be up for it but Lorenzo said he did not think it would ever happen. Anyways, glad to see you got one. Thanks again for the video.
    Rick.

      Thanks for watching and commenting.
      Yes, i agree with you about the Lorier v1 being nicer than the v2.
      I'm really enjoying my NTH sub (video is up) and feel like the quality is a step or two above Lorier. (as is the price). I sold my Lorier because I just never fell in love with it. There have been many days when i wished I'd kept it though.
      I'm a bit addicted to automatic Seiko divers, but the 031 remains a favourite. Definitely a good choice.

    Thanks for the video! I have one of those coming from Spencer Klein all in original condition including the rubber bracelet ( 22Z not Z22 )which is hard to find anymore, although someone is selling one of those bands on ebay for 149.00 if you are interested, when I saw the price of just the bracelet I knew I had made a great buy, I also wanted mine to be in all original condition as I appreciate the history that comes with the watch, I just begin my small collection and I really wanted something with patina, History and also something that is reliable as well as affordable, good luck trying to find the parts you need for your watch, maybe give Mr. Klein a call if someone has the parts you need he might be the one that has them.

    It's more of a Yacht-Master, but there are parts out there and it needs a service too.

    Cheers for the review as there’s not many on RUclips. I’ve only recently discovered this Seiko model which is the great thing about Seiko, they will always surprise you while scrolling through their catalogues. It’s just everything you wish the 007 was, lighter, thinner, crown at the 3, applied indices and the lack of lollipop seconds hand just tops it off, class piece. They are very difficult to find, would you advise to stay away from the ones sold from the Philippines as that’s all there seems to be out there at the moment? thanks again, Kieran

      i bit the bullet and bought a skx033 from the philippines last month and it's working quite well. it damn looks good compared to the skx009, i might add.

      baludoyz agree, the skx007 and 009 are so big, fat, tall, and ugly

    So what’s the difference btwn. this and the SKX 007? More slender in design and 100mm drive and the crown now at the 3 market and both discontinued? Are these more difficult to find and I thought the SKX series were replaced by the Seiko 5 line?
    I wish Seiko names their watches bc remembering and understanding all these model number can be a real pain. I just got into Seikos and I keep finding out about a new older special watch and there are so many.

    Does this watch have a bezel gasket? I found one recently for pretty cheap and picked it up, but without a bezel gasket inside it

    • @WTMS1
      @WTMS1  5 лет назад

      No idea, but i have seen 3rd party gaskets on the bay for cheap enough. If the sell a bezel gasket then i guess it should be there.
      These old watches i just try not to get them wet

    What watch strap were you wearing in this video?

    • @WTMS1
      @WTMS1  5 лет назад

      Hi, i think that is the stock Seiko 22mm rubber strap. I've swapped it onto a nato since as the stock is quite bulky. Looks cool though.
      Thanks for watching and commenting

    How is the restoration going? I've an SKX023 (Basically the same watch but in 38mm) coming from the Philippines. Any tips you've learned along the way?

    • @WTMS1
      @WTMS1  5 лет назад

      The restoration hasn't started. I've bought tools, but no parts yet. A new job is keeping me brutally busy, so no time to play with watches (or make new videos!)
      Let me know if you post a vid of your 023, I've always wanted one!

      I missed these when they were their cheapest. I paid £120 gbp. They are selling for almost double that now.

      They are great watches.
      Try and keep it original to maintain its value. Although even modded ones seem to sell well.
      Enjoy your watch and wear it in good health
